@people's solution My dear friend, GATE exam paper can be classified into 3 sections based on the subjects . 1st one is Aptitude it consists of numerical part , verbal ability and logical reasoning all of these covers nearly 15 Mark's. 2nd Engineering mathematics it covers nearly 13 to 15 Mark's. 3rd is your Course related part rest of the Mark's.
Gate is nothing but Aptitude test...& One more important thing is it's a numerical test...we should practice more&more on problems that to previous years& IES prelims objectives... it's not easy & not much as tough also...we should practice more on problems....my suggestion is to focus on problems....I'm graduated in civil engineering stream...now I'm doing Mtech in IIT kharagpur.... I want to convey one thing who r graduates in civil engineering stream.....Focus on 7 technical subjects & mathematics enough....u may easily crack PSU....coming to subjects 1.GT Around 13 marks(5-2mks qns,3-1mk qns) 2.EE- (10-12)mks 3.TE(10-12)mks 4.FM&OCF (8-9)mks 5.SOM(6-8)mks 6.RCC(6-8)mks 7.Geomatics(5-6) mks 8.Mathematics (10-13) mks... Aptitude
