    I really liked all three.
    Because
    1.different songs need different intros
    2.leaders have tendency to make same intro every time and this is little beat boring
    Really great explanation from leaders and followers 'point of view'

    Awesome video! I really appreciate the detailed breakdowns! 1 question, which you may have answered in another video. For the balero step. How do you lead that? At my social out here I try to lead it but must be doing something wrong! The follower keeps stepping the traditional 4! Any help would eb appreciated. Please keep the videos coming! Using a lot of what I learn here on the dance floor with good effect

    • @RobertoyMagdalena
      @RobertoyMagdalena  Рік тому +1

      We have a video where we explain it in more detail but the short version is:
      You lead it breathing in (you make yourself tall). You need to have very good tension in your frame. This causes that you can control where the follower has her weight. This way she doesn’t have the option of doing a basic, because you are controlling her weight and steps.
      Hope that helps! 😊

    Great video! Also, how do you know when the intro ends? Is it just music knowledge and experience?

    • @RobertoyMagdalena
      @RobertoyMagdalena  Рік тому +1

      If you know a bit about musicality it will definitely help! The music gives hints to show when it is about to change.
      Generally speaking, an intro in Bachata lasts most of the time 4 8s, with some song having 2 8s and others 8 8s. Of course, some songs could also have something completely different

    • @alfacentauri3686
      @alfacentauri3686 Рік тому +1

      If you are in the middle of your intro combo when the intro ends, continue the combo to a natural end. An aborted combo is disturbing. Instead enjoy the combo with your partner and then get into the main dance.

    • @RobertoyMagdalena
      @RobertoyMagdalena  Рік тому +1

      True! It can happen to us all when we haven’t finished a move and the Bachata music started. That’s okay! With experience and music awareness it will get better with time 😊

    What is the meaning of bolero? transferring of weight? step and tap? If anyone can help me

    • @RobertoyMagdalena
      @RobertoyMagdalena  Рік тому +2

      It’s about breathing in, “holding” the breath and thus controlling the weight of the follower. Which means, she can only step where you tell her to

    How do you know how long the intro is going to be? So you can choose a way to lead the intro

    • @alfacentauri3686
      @alfacentauri3686 Рік тому +4

      It's no problem if your dancing intro is longer than the music intro. Take the time you need to connect and get to know your partner. On the other hand you don't have to make the long intro. If you already know each other the intro is more about connection.
      If she rushes away into a basic step instead of following your intro lead that also tells you something about her.

    • @MegaGreenLightning
      @MegaGreenLightning Рік тому +2

      For a random song, you won't know from the start, but usually there are clues in the music when the intro is about to end. The intros presented in the video all start the same way, so you can just go for it. Then you just have to decide whether to go into a basic or continue with the intro. This requires careful listening, but you will get a feeling for it with a little practice. And don't worry if you get it wrong at the beginning. If you are too late, just take your time to finish the dancing intro and start on the second 8 count of the music. If you are too early, you can for example try to switch to step tap step tap (2 counts each).

    • @RobertoyMagdalena
      @RobertoyMagdalena  Рік тому +3

      Thank you so much for replying and for helping each other, that’s what our community is all about! 😊
      Exactly! If you don’t know the song it can be a little bit tricky (specially at the beginning) to know how long the intro is.
      Most songs have either 2 or 4 eights as intro. It’s not that common to have songs with a long intro. Knowing about musicality in Bachata will help you a lot since most songs have a very similar structure. We will do videos about musicality :)
      Like they said, the intro is about connecting with your partner. We would recommend to take your time. It’s better to start the basic step after the intro is done, than to start doing the basic step while the intro is still playing.

    Guys i like all your videos but starting with the opposite foot it's not so common. In social dancing it's not gonna work. If you are a dance couple it's OK.

    • @RobertoyMagdalena
      @RobertoyMagdalena  Рік тому +3

      Thank you for the feedback! 😊 actually it is quite common to do this when you are just joining the dance floor with the new partner, but you could always first do the step with the other foot in the open position and from there start the intro 😊
