    This is a top notch review/tutorial, coming from someone who has watched these EDC things since web 2.0 came out, you are making some premium content. In fact yours are the only casio module tutorials I can watch without zoning out at some point. Well I must say, the black and gold is a classic combo and the packaging has a nice retro 80s feel, reminds me of a VHS packaging. However your review is so good that I already feel like I've taken it out of the packaging myself and worn it around a day, so I've no need to buy it now. 🙂

    2023 was the year of G-Shock for me. Sold my analogs and got a lot of Gs, including a GD-400GB which is a Gold Black and I think it’s these GBs that come in that special box and tin. I preferred the GD-400GB over the GD-350GB for aesthetic reasons alone though GD-350 has more features. GD-350 is on my to buy list though. Anyway my GD-400 is similar to the watch featured in many ways with the gold tinted display and gold hardware. Plus this GB series has a deeper black and not a matte black color. Great watch, congrats!

    Ive got this on negative display in 2016. For 1 year it took a beating at work, submerged in oil, diesel and liquid as WD40. The screen touched very hard and sharp surfaces.
    When i quitted that job i disassembled the watch, washed it and it works perfect even now. The only problem was the Menu button being sometimes not responsive. After i washed and cleaned everything worked perfect. I cant stress enough the bad conditions i used it in. Mud is nothing.

      That's a pretty rock solid comment on how tough this wrist watch is. Great for other viewers to read. Thank you my friend

    If have two others plus the one you have. Only the one you have comes with the gold tin IIRC. I use one a timer between weight lifting sets. Despite using the vibration feature once per set the battery life has been amazing. Thanks for making the video.

    Bloody English 😂😂 Thanks for the review, BTW I got this ( Anniversary edition on Black Friday sale) watch last week, I was swimming in gulf of Mexico for couple of days with it, no problem at all ( worried about powdery white sand ruining the button) it's all clean when I came off the beach! And also, love the vibration alarm feature, didn't fail to wake me up from deep morning sleep both days, very practical heavy duty watch IMHO, sure you can put it through some challenges without worrying or fear of breaking it. Good buy. One more thing, I heard it just needs CR2032 button cell (battery ) in case you run out of battery.

    I was torn between buying this particular 10 year anniversary edition or the stealth black GD3501b as my 1st G shock, but ultimately decided to get the all black stealth version because 1stly I think it's a waste for such a great lcd screen to not be a negative (aka cool) one, and secondly I thought it would be more closely to what it's original designed concept, a practically hidden but elegant timeless piece. The bottomline is, I was happy with the monotone stealth version, especially the subtle slight yellowish/greenish tinted mineral glass.
    But actually I still think this uniquely shaped watch could benefit from subtle two tone style/subtle darker theme, and my 1st favourite was the GD350BR, but sadly it's unavailable from where I am. I think they really should do the black-purple, black-blue, black- darkgreen etc darker but subtle elegant two tone for this quite uniquely shaped watch. Also just my personal opinion, but I think the anniversary edition colours are a bit immature and probably wasting the great unique look and the cool function of the original design, a bit like an invicta's watch immature feel I think.
    As for the comfortability and durability, I only just got this watch for 2 days, so cannot give much in depth comment for that. But one thing I immediately notice was the soft, kinda flimsy and without feedback buttons, to the extend that I was originally worry that it was a counterfeit and also the 200m waterproof ability. I probably worrying too much for watch of this price point (i mean the comfort, functions, packaging etc are all there) but i think they should have proper serial number for QC and tracking purposes.
    As for comfortability, I'm not a watch person before so my wrist skin may be a little bit sensative compared to a veteren watch wielder. Contrary to what other think about g shock, I think the weight and size of the watch is fine (even for my puny 6 inch lady like wrist), maybe could get a little top heavy at time but with the wing it's manageable. But one flaw I immediately noticed was how the inner side of metal buckle was making my skin itching after prolong usage. I've examine the buckle carefully, it's well made and roundish shape but for a small wrist and non slippery tightness it became little uncomforable after few hours as it always ecthing in same place. I think they could improve this by having the resin/rubber band thicker near the buckle connected end so the rubber band will sit on wrist skin instead of the metal buckle's butt, cause not only the metal buckle are harder in nature, the contact area also much smaller, that's probably the reason why it's uncomfortable.
    I could make the band looser and rotating the buckle position after every few hours, but then it defeating the subtle vibrating function and I really don't like the watch that can slide up and down on my wrist.😑

    Hi Moorlander,
    I have the negative display on the GD-350 which I don't like. Where did you purchase the GB-1 please, as there doesn't appear to many available, other than maybe Singapore or Japan. Many thanks. Terry Davis Nice video and very helpful.

    Hi Moorlander again, nice review and nice watch, but you try to get the World Time to get the correct time for each city. That's why I sent mine back.

      I'll say I haven't really played around with the different cities. I think I rememeber somebody commenting before on a different Casio model where the world time was out. They had to turn off the DST or something like that. There's definitely a bug in there in the software somewhere

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC 10 днів тому

      This is definitely one of their larger watches. I have a large hand and 7.5" wrist and it's really nice. Not a small watch compared to other GShocks. I'm sure you're like me and miss those 90s/2000s huge watches 🤙

    The panels keep the watch from rolling around on the wrist. The count down timer legibility and light on this watch are superior to other G-Shocks.

    Wish Casio would not use spring bars , it's a weak point of all watches which are marketed as 'tough'.

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC 7 місяців тому +2

      Agreed. The tougher screw bars from watches like the Garmin Instinct and Fenix bands are tough as boot. That would be an awesome upgrade

      They could go the CWC nato strap way by having a stainless steel body with fixed bars and a resin outer,that watch would be very strong and take a lot of abuse@@MoorlanderEDC
