- We're testing out a new method in preventing sola flower petals from uncurling! If you struggle with uncurling petals while crafting with sola wood flowers, let's get testing together and see if Mod Podge is the answer we've been looking for!
What You'll Need:
Mod Podge spray (matte)

Paint (latex or craft acrylic)

Testing out Aleene's gloss sealant as an alternative, (its what i had on hand, and couldnt find either of the other sprays at my local stores) just in case anyone needs to know. I have sprayed a peony and a small rose and waiting for them to dry. Will update on whether it works later.
I've ordered a bunch of flowers directly from Sola and then I found your site. Would like to use as decoration for my daughter's wedding in May. I'm worried I've bitten off more than I can chew! You make it look so easy. Once they get here, I'm sure I'll be fine...I hope?
I just tried this on luxe sola flowers (peonies and roses) and it turned out PERFECT. Maybe one petal uncurled a little bit, but that's it. I also used pretty thick paint (didn't dilute it too much with the glycerin/water mix) and the color is even and deep. Wish I could post a picture, but it really worked great!

Fun fact gloss is always a little bit more protective than matte
Would this work on the Mini Gyp Green Filler or the preserved Baby's Breath to keep it from going everywhere when working with it?
Ordered spray. Crossing fingers because I’m REALLY struggling with the Julia flowers and peonies.
Do you think he gloss finish will make the finish look different?
