Abu Shabab claims to have hundreds of armed men under his command, in a group he is calling Popular Forces. But what do we know about them and their past?

Actually, both perspectives are true. Avner Cohen and Yitzhak Segev acknowledged that Israel supported this offshoot of MB to counter the PLO. It's in that sense that they created what it became.
Netanyahu didn't create Hamas. He was the Israeli speaker at the UN in the 80s when Israeli did sort of prop up Hamas. Hamas was willing to work with Israeli while the plo was hijacking planes, destroying Lebanon, causing chaos in Jordan and refusing to collaborate with Israel who was running gaza at the time and desperate for local gazans to start managing themselves. Ahmed yassin decided to start working with Israel, helping with the basic needs of the population. Off course this blew up in our face but hindsight is 20/20. The plo and Yasser Arafat eventually agreed to the Oslo accords and they eventually began to run gaza and the major cities in Judea and Samaria and eventually started the 2nd intifada which Arafat planned and directed together with Hamas so the plo was no better.
It is basically future Hamas but with different name. Bibi have to create next enemy and opposition to " Jewish state" so Israel would always have right to " defend itself" in a way it defending itself now.
Those are Palestinians from the most important tribe out of 6 there are there. Do you have a better plan? Please tell the Israeli government.
The better plan is to let the UN give out aid. Israel is creating a criminal gang which they will later say they are terrorists which Israel will need to defense itself.
STOP playing games and let the Palestinians have peace, let the UN give out humanitarian aid, let journalists in just let the indigenous people live with dignity and peace. Stop controlling them and every other state/ country on your border.
