The old classics slowly going and played a part in all our lives , I remember listening to this back in the day when I worked as a maintenance man at national grid
No, you'er not alone Alycia. I've not listened to Radio 2 in the mornings since Terry left in December 2009. I totally refused to listen to that annoying Chris Evans.
Gone but NEVER forgotten , how blessed we are to have shared Sir Terry’s companionship . Just listened to this while preparing the Sunday Roast crying into me stuffing at the end .
Thank you Terry. You were the sound track to my life, laughter and friendship in abundance, from the school run to my 50th Birthday. The BBC should broadcast your shows every day, the traffic jams are probably still occurring so no-one would notice the difference.
The perfect broadcaster. He made it seem effortless. A complete natural and always capable of blending fun. And Laugher with great music. Wake up to wogan was like tuning in to a friend. Knowing that you’d feel better having listened. A total genius at work. The master of radio broadcast
I’m not at all ashamed to tell you that I’ve listened to this video 6 times in the last couple of weeks. In the year that he would have been 81, I feel like he should be celebrated♥️ Nearly four years down the line and your passing is no easier to comprehend than it was on 31st January 2016. That year took a lot of people, but two of them truly affected me. Sir Terry was one of them. I’ll miss you forever and ever ♾ A proud Tyg (Terry’s Young Geezers and Gals)
Ahhh... Listening to this in 2023. Still miss you, Terry... Time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like a banana. love from a faithful TYG... Now a TOG xx
10 years ago today, this final breakfast show aired. It is still as funny now as it was then and that's before you get anywhere near the Janet and John story!! There were many deaths in 2016, but only two really had an effect on me and Sir Terry was one of them. There will truly never be anyone like him ever again and there will never be a radio show like his, ever again. You were truly one of a kind, dear Sir and I - like so many others - will miss you forever. X
Still a sad loss to the airwaves. For me this was when Radio 2 ended. It was never the same after Terry left his breakfast show and it has only gone ever more steeply down hill since.
I listened to this in my car driving to work. I'll never forget it, there was snow everywhere and it took me three hours to get to work when it normally took 45 minutes. I was at a standstill on the A12 and I remember welling up a little bit when he read that final piece and then played the party's over. Thank you so much for uploading this, great memories!
Greatly missed to this day, I literally grew up listening and watching Terry, he was unique. Its such a shame that the BBC can't make his archived shows available, would love to hear them again driving to work
I’m away for a few days and I’ve just got the iPad out and was thinking about holidays as a child radio on Terry wogan pure heaven so I typed his name and here I am in heaven once again
Just listened back to this on 3rd march 2023, Ken Bruce’s last day on radio 2 mid morning show, yet another legend gone! Made me want to listen back to that last speech once again!
A legend.... Decades ago cable TV & radio came to Belgium and The Terry Wogan show became one of my most listened and favorite radio shows in those years. Thank you Terry for giving me so much listening enjoyment! It's so nice to hear his voice again, thank you UA-cam
just been listening to janet and john stories brilliant takes me back to when I was a long distance lorry driver, radio 2 kept me company for many hours, wogan and the rest kept me amused, bles them all , I am now 72 and living in Thailand, this brings back good memories, thank you
Yes , this really needs to stay online! Please BBC will you let Utube leave tis clip up online as it's sadly, one of our TOG's last bastions of recluse !
Yeah sad to say although I still listen to radio 2 and enjoy it things are not the same. Everything has to change evolve whatever but it’s not always for the better. When Ken Bruce and Steve wright call it a day then I will to. Loved terry in the morning. Matchless!!
Forever Our Queens Elizabeths Favourite autumn voice of the wonderful gorgeous Sir Terry 🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧❤️ I remember listening to you Sir Terry in my van travelling to fix gas boilers. You are always here ❤️
Took a mouthful of coffee just before the line "Mother Superior of the Sisters of Perpetual PMT". Big mistake. Huge. Loved this guy - despite the hazards of driving during his original show broadcasts.
Thanks so much for posting this....It's like being back in Blighty when I worked for Rentokil and tuned in at early morning in my company car to go work to London from Bournemouth. Ok so I've become a TOG in France now but a Broadcaster like Sir Wogan doesn't exist in my adopted country....Bless you Terry for being part of my life listening to your wonderful show since I was 11 years old whilst making toast for my father (RIP). Again thanks for posting I'm not crying but reminiscing!
I don't think it's hyperbole to suggest that this is an iconic piece of radio history. All good things must come to an end, as they say, and certainly a truism in this case. Thank you for making it available.
I wrote so many letters and faxes , texts and emails over the years under a few pseudonyms and my own name and corpsed him a number of times. I was able to meet him and Pauly a few times and sat next to him at lunch in St Andrews at the convention. Mornings are not the same these days. I miss this great man, and I miss the family of TOGs. Any of you still out there ?? Phil Cowle
Litening to this in 2024, reminding me of being in the passenger seat of my dads lorry, much better times! Anyone know where i can listen to more of his shows?
As radio 2 is now being unlistenable to anyone but the under 12's or the deaf. With the decent dj's either being sacked or leaving it is hard to believe just how good it used to be with the terry and the togs. if you were stuck in a traffic jam during a janet and john episode and you looked around you would see everyone laughing. Magical times!
It's a great tribute to him, but, Lynn Parsons is not in this, it's Lynn Bowles lol. Hope it stays up though, that Janet and John story had me in stitches.
he was not sick wen he got the push from the b.b.c . he was old school and was not p.c, for them i hate the b.b.c thay loved old jimmy the perv . R.I.P. terry old lad.
What nonsense. Terry was not pushed. He chose to step down from the breakfast show and continued to broadcast on Radio 2 on Sundays with Weekend Wogan.
The old classics slowly going and played a part in all our lives , I remember listening to this back in the day when I worked as a maintenance man at national grid
Just burst into tears hearing this. Im sure i'm not the only one that dearly misses Terry Wogan on the radio
No, you'er not alone Alycia. I've not listened to Radio 2 in the mornings since Terry left in December 2009. I totally refused to listen to that annoying Chris Evans.
@@Loverboy19691 have just re-listened to our dear Terry. Tears are still shed.
@@suestone6679 2021, I'm still listening to our Terry.
@@Loverboy19691 if you thought he was was annoying then try Zoe (verbal diarrhea|) Ball. You'll smash the radio in under a minute.

First Terry and more recently Steve wright rest in peace 2 voices I cherish and will never forget
I was brought up as a kid on this guy, a sad loss.
Really miss this guy. Was a part of my life for so many years. Still think about you Terry xx
Me too
Just been listening to Janet and John
Just brilliant
Never been anything as good again - 2020 and he can still make me cry xx
Thank you Terry. You were the sound track to my life, laughter and friendship in abundance, from the school run to my 50th Birthday. The BBC should broadcast your shows every day, the traffic jams are probably still occurring so no-one would notice the difference.
Imagine how Wogan would make us feel better during the covid-19 pandemic

Exactly my sentiments...no one on Radio has matched his wit and intellect.
Still a sad loss to the airwaves. For me this was when Radio 2 ended. It was never the same after Terry left his breakfast show and it has only gone ever more steeply down hill since.
Thank you. I miss him so much. Listening to him and his show help with my depression.

I remember we had snow on this day so I was lucky enough to be off work and be able to listen to the whole snow.
Terry Wogan will always bring fond memories for many people worldwide.
Wonderful memories of a great presenter, loved listening to wake up to wogan. Not listened to radio 2 since. Such a loss to everyone.

The nan I've been listening for hours a day since 2001, I'm a Pole who just took his accent as mine. Thank you Terry,
im back for more mumblings NAY ramblings from the greatest as life has not been the same since the great mans demise
I never heard this at the time (I was at work), so thank you for allowing me to hear this and other things too. Just brilliant!
Playing his vinyl at the end was a touch of class, this man WAS 80s entertainment at its best, RIP Terry you were the best

How wonderful 🙂
Terry Wogan we will never forget you.
Much missed . Gentle humour to get you to work with a smile
Lovely Terry. He made the sitting in stationary traffic to work much more bearable?
i remember wogans winner in mid 70's.....27 minutes after 8. time to get off to school.
Litening to this in 2024, reminding me of being in the passenger seat of my dads lorry, much better times! Anyone know where i can listen to more of his shows?
Friday 18th December 2009
i felt the b.b.c got rid of old tell and we will never know the truth i miss you sorry you went home so soon fine man r.i.p
A lovely lovely man
Just fantastic. A proper broadcaster. So very missed.
I still miss the man.
Wonderful --- no blubbing he says... ha no chance.....sob sob…
this is what you call an entertainer...todays clones wouldnt be fit to shine this mans shoes
I had all his podcasts from wake up to/weekend Wogan saved for many years but sadly lost them.
I was a TYG.
Loved him then love him now

i felt cast adrift when this show ended - opted for the sound of a 2L peugeot engine afterwards!
Classic and classy
My granddad used to help him with his luggage at Heathrow airport
Sadly missed. I have the full recording on tape.
It's a great tribute to him, but, Lynn Parsons is not in this, it's Lynn Bowles lol. Hope it stays up though, that Janet and John story had me in stitches.
+scott mcmillan Oops. Thanks Scott, I've corrected the description.
Excellent. Cheers.
Still miss you Terry x
There's only ONE ;)
So missed...
Hahaha - except for his own record! Like it.
Listening on the 19/2/2022 💜🙏
a love letter to raiido
why terry ouit ab he told me love is not a studio is at home
Very sad
Be a shame if the beeb takes this down, especially as you went to the trouble to nicely edit out the music.
+Ben Moore Hope they won't. I didn't edit out enough of Peggy Lee and Anthony Newley to avoid a copyright notice though, so you'll see ads.
Also, Lynne Bowles is SO much better than the current incumbent
Who shot JR?
The consumate broadcaster
he was not sick wen he got the push from the b.b.c . he was old school and was not p.c, for them i hate the b.b.c thay loved old jimmy the perv . R.I.P. terry old lad.

Terry was a remainer
And you?
I think he knew he was dying
Josy O'Connell he didn’t die for years. He came back and did a Sunday morning show for ages after this. He only died a couple of years ago
I did NOT welcome the Ginger Whinger old lad.
Bad choice of last words
