    Ava DuVernay is the first African American woman to be nominated for an Academy Award as a director in any feature category. Winner of multiple Emmy, BAFTA, NAACP and Peabody Awards, her feature film directorial work includes the “Selma,” “13th” and “A Wrinkle in Time,” which made her the highest-grossing Black woman director in American box office history. DuVernay is currently writing, directing and producing the narrative film adaptation of Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson’s “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontent.”

    I wish someone filmed me when she said Caste is being brought to film. I legit was overcome with emotion and excitement. This woman is a changemaking prophet and I'm so thankful for the work she's contributed in shining light on social issues that effect people of color, and the ways in which we must really reform our systems and institutions, if not even dismantle them

    Ava Duvernay is now claiming racism for the reason there's absolutely no interest in her flop Origin 😂🤣. She claims you are racist if you go see Oppenheimer 😂🤣
