    Very smart boats and the skyscraper scenery was amazing to see, we don't have that view in southwest UK waters. Cheers 👍 👍🇬🇧❤️

      I will never tire of this skyline. Pictures and videos don’t do it the justice it deserves either. Seeing it up close and personal is truly something.

    I'm more of a trawler style fan spending weeks at sea, these boats are nice for a day or weekend cruz but I prefer the Alaska to Panama and back kind of trips. dream boat for me is a 70 to 80ft Bering

    Hey Dan can you dock a big new sport fishing boat.But no thrusters just the throttles

    • @ElevateYacht
      @ElevateYacht  Рік тому +1

      I have not gotten behind the helm of any new sportfish vessels lately but I can say I should have no problem. Might take me a little bit to feel out how she handles and moves in close quarters but I’d love to give it a go. I’ve run a Viking convertible for many years now and have docked that thing countless times. Two big props and no thrusters. Check out the docking video I did on that one.

    Why not 2x 450s rather than 3x300? Nice boats however.

    • @ElevateYacht
      @ElevateYacht  Рік тому

      That actually is an option but actually doesn’t look as nice and there is not a large improvement on efficiency/performance.

    • @derjaeger3321
      @derjaeger3321 Рік тому

      @@ElevateYacht I assumed the performance etc, would be a close to a wash but it is one less tune-up, oil change and yearly service tab to pay. However style and esthetics are also a priority on a luxury boat of this type. And the more engines the greater the chance for a breakdown of one of them the. Greater the mechanical complexity, there comes a point that reaches a higher the probability of trouble. There is another channel from Florida I watch and there is a large - I mean LARGE - center console with 5 or 6 Mercs and for a very long time one of them was always out of the water. That would drive me to fits if that happened to me. I have this odd expectation that million (mutli) dollar items should work and be constructed with quality and reliability in mind. Of course things break, but that is why professionals like you are in business to do the routine service and maintenance checks and replace parts on schedule to prevent unhappy surprises. I am not financially situated to own a yacht however all of my cars get serviced exactly to the manufacturer’s schedule and I have had no bad surprises in years.

    • @ElevateYacht
      @ElevateYacht  Рік тому

      You bring up a really good point here that I wanted to touch on. You are right, things do happen and unfortunately, boats do need items worked on or repaired/replaced. Even brand new boats have issues, but this is exactly why it’s important to know what you’re buying and who you’re buying from. Does the manufacturer offer a warranty with their new vessels? If so, is the dealership you’re buying from going to stand behind the product and be by your side with the back end service to keep you on the water and not laid up awaiting repairs. I say it all the time - 50% is WHAT you’re buying (the specific boat), the other 50% is WHO you’re buying from. The Who is huge. Like you said, if you’re investing your hard earned money, you want to know that if something does happen, your dealer/broker has your back.
      Great comment here and very well thought out. Thank you for your continued viewing and commenting. I hope others see the discussions and can learn from that too. Cheers!

      @@ElevateYacht My father and grandfather owned a new car dealership. Dad always said there are no lemon cars ( he retired prior to the Yugoslav era and the horrible US cars of the 70s/80s) but he said there are lemon dealerships. Things break but quality parts and assembly backed by a good reputable dealership is the way to go. I have owned 5 Hondas and not one of them needed any work above the scheduled work except for one very minor assembly piece and a problem with a steering wheel that had a flat spot worn on it ( my iron grip) if you build them good you save on warranty claims. My dad loved to boat, he made the mistake of buying a boat from one vendor and the engine from another. It had a ride problem, it “porpoised” the engine guy blamed the boat and the boat guy blamed the engine. Today we would know it was most likely a problem with the engine height on the water. You need one guy to go to to get things fixed. Also when I buy my Luxury cars I always buy the extended manufacturers warranty, dealers love them and there is almost no hassle with repairs. Not sure in they exist in the marine industry.
