So I have this feeling Anne of Cleves was never 'ugly', just Henry did not want to marry her and made it seem she 'looked like a horse'. Funny how she later became the 'King's sister' and he never harmed her, in fact he warmed up to her even during his marriage to Katherine Howard. She not only outlived Henry by 10 years but became the most well-off of his Queens financially. Also great job for casting an obviously beautiful actress to play her, despite all these claims she was ugly. Anne of Cleves is my favourite Tudor Queen
Yea Anne wasn't ugly, she just wasn't Henry's type. He liked petite women, Anne was more shapely. She wasn't his type and add on Henry's depression/mental instability...recipe for disaster. Anne was lucky for got out alive and rich.
i agree it was also her upbringing women at the english court were more flirtatious and outgoing and fawned over him and anne was raised to not dance or gamble or flirt or play cards her clothing style was very conservative for the times because of the strict rules from her home court. i think they just didnt suit each other at all and when she lived up to her word i think he grew to really like her company. its kinda sad though she would have been a good queen had he just had patience but that wasnt really a virtue he had.
Joss Stone is a very good actress. Not only this, but impeccable singer! She was a great Anne of Cleves.
The most cleverest queen among the six. She survived and happily lived.
Fortunately she was not killed by the king, but unfortunately; she died at the young age of 42.
@@Harold-ph1kk average life expectancy in Tudor England was only 35 years old. So…
