- Imagine this is with no studio effects and from a porch swing outdoors. I doubt the neighbors complain. This is from a livestream so the quality is not the best. Someone asked Marc to sing Imagine, so he gamely gave it a shot without practice and with nothing but his Ipad to record it. Without a doubt one of the greatest songs ever written.As for Marc Martel, I am so in awe of him. If you put aside, even for a moment, his truly uncanny ability to sound incredibly close to late great Freddie Mercury and just listen to Marc sing - he is astounding. His voice is warm and rich and as for that phenomenal range, lord have mercy! Of course he's a gifted musician too. And if that wasn't enough he's a genuinely nice guy too. Lucky us.

I’m firebombing all of his videos...I just discovered him two days ago...and I still can’t believe my friggin ears. Vocally I’m hard to impress. My vocal heroes are....Streisand...Whitney...Freddie...it’s hard to get me to really be hooked to a singer. They have to be phenomenal. Marc is a miracle. I’ve never heard a male vocalist of his caliber. I was pretty impressed with Adam Lambert, but there was just something that made me not go head over heels. He’s extremely gifted...but Adam just lacks some quality that keeps me from being totally head over heels. Marc has that. What Streisand has. What Whitney has(d). Marc is a legend...and I can’t believe he’s not world famous. I think he will be. I see that people are starting to catch wind of him. After all, that’s how I found him.

Very good (even though I actually don't like Imagine as a song at all). Marc's voice melds perfectly into any song, including this one. Did you mean to write John Lenin though? - it's Lennon (a Freudian slip I'm sure, although I suppose this was during his "Communist phase").

The chap is like a parrot for copying other singers he makes a great song even better by putting his own slant on it, heard him doing Freddie Mercury outstanding. Well done Mark.
So he's not "parroting" , really. : ) He does magnificent homage to the singers who made the hits, but he always makes the songs his own. There's a reason why his piano covers always have people asking for the sheet music for his arrangements also. And why people very often prefer Marc's version to the original.

I don't know if that was John Lennon's intent, but I can see why the atheists might co-opt the song. However, a true atheist would believe that they have no freedom of choice and all actions they take are the result of the random chemical reactions and evolutionary instinct programmed in their brains. Since they believe there is no such thing as morality, any "desire" they "live as one" is an illusion. True atheists back themselves into a corner where they might say "atheists can act morally" even as they do not believe in morality. Oh, and if any atheists want to debate me on this, go ahead do what your pre-programmed chemical reactions make you do, as if you have a choice. But it would certainly be foolishness to argue with someone who has no choice but to do what their own brain has programmed them to do.
