No one quite captures pain and negative feelings like CHVRCHES. There's just something really intense about the combination of their lyrics, vocals, and instrumentals. When I'm in certain moods it feels like CHVRCHES is the only band that sounds like how I'm feeling.

I love the dark, industrial feel of this video. It goes together really well with the heavy synth and simple/slow, mechanical drum line. Overall incredible song and video.
I usually don't listen to electronic music, but they do it well the way they work all their sounds any their lyrical format to this particular song. They are f'kin tight .. this reminds me of the 80's era stuff but with totally newer sounds! That's it .. they got it right! Good stuff peeps!
This track with it's breakdowns is like a drug of some sort. Keep needing to hear it again and again.

I first knew Chvrches because Muse covered Lies on BBC Live Lounge. Fell in love with this song instantly. Their other song I love is Violent Delights. It's really good.

this song reminds me my husband who passed away about two years ago after we had a happy and beautiful wedding of three years. He used to love these beat and especially this song. nowadays i listen to it everyday when i go to bed and live for a moment what we have lived together and what we could have lived together

I love the musical flow of the chorus. For some reason it reminds me of a summer moonlit night in the country with cicadas sounding off among a lone line of trees swaying gently with the wind.
Its the first time I've seen the music video for the song and I've got say this one is the best imo. Super stylish. The shots of their three silhouettes are with bits of lighting are cool af.

Every time I listen to this song, i just get pure euphoria, each time i play it it feels like ive never herd it before! This song has to be my all time favorite!! this band is magical!! I really cant get enough of their music!!... Pure Talent!! Even the words describe my teenage years, "I'll say what you want to hear"... Brilliant!! Cant get enough!! x

I discovered this song, and CHVRCHES in general, around 2-3 years ago through VH1, or some other music channel. The sick beat and Lauren's amazing vocals got me hooked instantly, and I've been a huge fan of CHVRCHES ever since.

This song is amazing and one of my favorites! I like the sound effects! Her voice, and all ingenious group members, bring a fresh and transcendental sound, and lyrics that have something magical that captures the attention! A synth-pop and electronic sound mix capture the magic of her interpretation style together with extraordinary videos full of mysticism making them an avant-garde group of this era!!

I haven't seen this cute of a singer since Hope Sandoval. I LOVE the synth in this song, reminds me of Gary Numan late 70s work.
I love how throughout the entire video, Iain's face is never illuminated. It keeps it so much more dark, mysterious, and intimidating.
The synth-pop anthem of the 21st century so far. Lauren's voice is heavenly. Bonus points for being Scottish too...

This is their best single, even though it gets the least airplay in the US. Just freaking brilliant.
Saw them live in Seoul two days ago. It was, apparently, the last show they are going to do in a while (Lauren said they were going to go rest for a while and start work on a second album since they've been touring non-stop for two years almost). They are absolutely incredible live. Great stage presence, crisp sound. Overall, an amazing experience. Well worth seeing live.

I have finally found the song that I have been looking for for about six months after hearing a bit of it. Fantastic! I'm really not a fan of any pop or dance but I love this song. I like fast paced progressive rock/metal but there is something about this song that strikes a chord with me. I listened to some other songs from this band and I didn't really enjoy them so I guess it's just a complete coincidence that I like this so much

This was the first Chvrches song I heard, it was back when they only had two other songs released. I feel like I watched them grow.

It’s already been about a decade since I heard this on Soccer AM and ran to UA-cam to listen to the whole song. I’d love to have been in the studio when this masterpiece was being created.
Honestly such a top band. Lauren has such a Liam Gallagher presence that I feel. All she has to do is just stand there without moving, and sing with that incredible voice against the amazing music that is Chvrches...and of course she's so badass while just standing there haha. But the rest of the band deserves serious credit, every piece really comes together in Chvrches to make very mesmerizing music. can't wait for their new album!!!! I'm already loving the singles "dead air" and "get away"

Finally found out who sings this song, heard it on the radio where I work. Immediately hooked by that chorus which made me think of the "80s sound", a little Gary Numan-esque, a little Goldfrapp, a tiny bit of Kraftwerk. Love this track and now I will take a listen to more by this band. :-)

Agree to this Ryokanfan, Numan, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk and also Alphaville. I can easily see them do a cover of 'Big In Japan'', it would perfectly fit the mood and atmosphere of Chvrches.
Ahh yes Depeche Mode also, but their later stuff. Funny even though it clearly has roots in that early 80s sound, it is still very modern and current. The synths very much remind me of early Numan. A masterpiece of a song. :-)

The tourist remix of this song has become my obsession. Listening to this, original version I feel nothing, but that remix makes me feel endlessly. It's "everything". Fantastic song, enigmatic lyrics, I feel I could never be quite worthy of truly understanding.

Can't stop listening to this and only this album. And when I am not listening to it, I can't get the songs out of my head. The sickness has spread to my wife as well. Thing is, unlike other obsessions, I can never see getting tired of it or resenting its hold on me. I surrender Chvrches. That being said this video is nowhere near as satisfying as the live performance version.
1000% agree. I have listened to this album more than anything else in my life. saw them live for this album in Cleveland House of Blues. It's quite simply the best album ever made imho
