This is a fantastic message - thank you for the inspiration. My art goal for the year is to learn French, so I can curse in multiple languages at my attempts to paint in watercolor. To date, I have several inspired paintings of algal mats that started out as a banana tree. Nose in 3/4 view advice noted. (BTW, I think I saw a watercolor instruction book on your shelf - if so, would like to hear how you got on).
🤣 Hope your French cursing improves along with your watercolours! I have definitely tried painting with watercolour. Not sure I'd want to commit to the quality of my outcomes beyond "I was trying really hard!" I ended up switching over to trying to learn to paint with gouache because, if I'm honest, someone told me it was easier. So far, it has not noticeably been easier.
