Just saw your video. Had two R Models. One had the transmission you have. 5 plus low, high and reverse. 5 reverse speeds plus 5 PTO speeds. The other a straight 5. One a 237 withe the pump turned up and the other a 300. Loved them both! 1200 rpm whistling and pulling!]

I always loved the engine note, the turbo whine, the idle sound and revving rumble. I've never ridden in one so maybe, but for now I want to thank you for the experience. Keep on trucking bud!
Them old trucks would beat your ass, but every morning, they start right up. Don’t be my 14 year old self and kill the batteries trying to get her to fire up. Push in the fuel shut off. 😂 I thought my dad would kill me over that. 😂
That’s no joke neither those old Mack’s R DM RD steel nose and the U models you don’t try to muscle those trucks they will kick the shit out of you there not built for speed there built for hard work have to take your time shifting them if they have a dynatard or a Jake brake you can shift them a little quicker I would drive one of those old bulldogs over any new truck today I love them real trucks

It's just an old loud, squeaky, bouncy truck. Fun to drive for the first hundred miles, then the rest of the day you're looking to get out of it 😆

It's about 67 at 2,000 rpm. Much better than before!
@@firstgentrucking207 have you thought about adding a brown Lipe overdrive? They used to be common in this area to split gears and highway speed.
Then you could be three sticking in a mack.
