Great story…thanks for sharing. I’m 4 years into battling castration resistant metastatic prostate cancer that’s moved into the bones that started out as a Gleason 9. Presently on radium 223(Xofigo) and Lupron. Trusting God and my medical team at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle for a good outcome.

For Patients with Gleason 9 T3 A/B or whatever. Re this post is about Ten years old, and it relates to his own situation.
He said "25 sessions" of treatment, so I presume it's Radiation or whatever.
The Surgeons not wishing to operate, might mean to near to Bladder/Bowel or something.
Should have explained to us why they refused to operate.
June 2018 I had Robotic, which was not successful, Dec 2018 started 33 Radiation Therapy which finished on February 2019. The initial drop after RT was not dramatic, went from 0.29 to 0.16 , then 0.1 and 0.1, am due my next PSA test in a couple of weeks.
I am/was a Gleason 9 T3B , and I am relieved I went down the Surgery route, as they found the seminal vesicles had been infected, and knowing that , could target the radiation more effectively.
In my case, I had the RT as quickly as possible, as I did not have Lupron HT pre Surgery the PSA after Surgery was a valid reading.
My treatment was under the "NHS in the UK" , I am Scottish.
The reason I commented on the post , is that to my mind it implies that a Gleason 9 T3b is inoperable, and someone just diagnosed could get depressed thinking there was no hope.
Perhaps the person who posted this was well intentioned, but certain details/information are missing, and unless they explain in more detail, perhaps take post down.
I don't want overly optimistic either, just realistic, this post does not do it for me!
He could have explained why the Surgeon used the word "Acute" as the reason for not operating.
Anyone reading this who is unsure of anything, Phone Prostate Cancer UK, or Macmillan Cancer. There are dedicated Cancer nurses who will explain any reservations you have.
The relief of actually understanding my particular situation , took a lot of stress out of my life.

@@xDaddyx68 You must have faith that it will get better and improve, groups of ten seconds with the kegels, no obvious change but you will get there. After that real life situations, small rucksack/backpac, with underwear ,spare pads and a container, all quite discrete. you will soon learn the survival skills in real time situations. And all the time there will be improvements. Am working with an unstable laptop, tried to reply sooner, think my message was lost.
None of us was/is prepared for the initial shock of the incontinence.,
You are not alone , fellow travellers are wishing you well

@@m1serfreed477 In some methods they plant seeds as targets for the RT, am sure the poster said Twenty five treatment or sessions . I think the BT is one off implants and a passive treatment. A friend of mine had BT, in out of Hospital same day.
