Another wonderful video! I think I could watch you all day, and I've learned so much from you. Thank you, Jennifer, for all of your videos and for having the patience and kindness to share your talent with us.
Jennifer I am so glad to see this video. Many years ago, I bought the Gamsol and the stubs and the sand paper board for a Make N Take being conducted at a Scrapbook store. Unfortunately, I never was able to do the Make N Take because they were so busy! So I have had these products for a very long time and never knew how to use them. I suppose I could have looked them up on UA-cam, but to be honest, I completely forgot I had them. So.....Im tickled that I now know what they are for and how to use them!!! I can't wait to start doing my cards with pencils. I have so many types of alcohol markers and I have never been very good with them. Im to impatient. But pencils.....I can use. And now I know how to make them look terrific. So again, you have helped me to find yet another way of crafting my cards!!! I have told you before that you are my enabler, but thats ok. If Im going to have an enabler, I couldn't have a better person!!!! Thank you!!
Dearest Jennifer, I can't express enough how much this tutorial means to me. I LOVE coloring but even though I am frustrated with my results using Copics, I still keep practicing in hopes that I will get better. I also love pencil crayons but with hands that are weak from arthritis, using this medium has been the most straining on me so my pencil crayons have been collecting dust. I know there are many others who are affected by arthritis and it definitely makes it much more challenging using pencil crayons when your hands tremble and you have no strength. Your advice, especially stating that you find the pencil crayons even easier to use than Copics, has inspired me and gives me hope and I can't wait to get into my craft room to give it a try. Please know, once again, how much this will mean to me and many others. Many of us are confined to our homes and what crafting means to us is much more than I can put into words my dear. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart and best wishes and happy holidays to you and your beautiful family.
What Nancy said so beautifully!! The New Year brings with it the desire to work with and master colored pencils. Thanks so much for sharing Jennifer and to you Nancy for saying what so many of us think and feel. ~HUGS~ #kindnessmatters
Nancy Lynn you are so right!!!! I'm older as well with arthritis and find the colored pencils and gamsol easier to use and control. I continue to practice with the alcohol markers but it's so hard to get in the tiny areas when my hands shake and still stay in the lines.
Great video Jennifer and to bring an old technique back again.....I used Gamsol a long time ago and I'm going to take it out again and yes it does last a long time...very nice cards and tfs
So beautifully colored and created! The sentiment and front greeting go so well together to make Avery heart felt card! TY! I learned some new information and in an hour I am on my way to the university art store to get: GAMSOL!!!! 🎨😉
I'm getting out my pencils and gamsol that I bought when I watched another one of your coloring pencil videos. This is definitely the way to go since I don't do well with alcohol markers. It is so easy and the results are fantastic! Thanks for bringing it back!
I always learn from you Jennifer! I agree with the person (Nancy Lynn) from below that I have troubles with my hands. But I still try different ways with color pencils. Your ways Jennifer are so helpful with me and I know other people agree with me. Keep up the great work and have Happy Holidays with your family. Keep up the great work.
"I'm not great with coloring" -- always laugh a bit when you say this (as the end project is so cute each time)! Thanks for sharing your tips/tricks/techs!! And for the positive-themed sentiments. Time to get my colored pencils out and let them "do the work" for me. Had never thought about using an extra droplet of collage medium to make the heart dimensional -- yep -- SO CUTE!
Jen. I learned alot today from you. Your one awesome lady. Love to watch your videos and so does my sister Rose Campbell!! She's the one who got me back into this stamping again. I stopped about 15 yrs ago. But its addictive. I have over 175 dies. But well worth it. You take care and have a Merry Christmas!!
This video, I purchased the Chameleon pencils and the Gamsol. I love the results then I had already after just trying it one day. Thank you so much for the suggestions
I currently use Prisma colored pencils but love that the Chameleon Colored Pencils are two sided so that I don't have to figure out which pencils blend well. I have had a lot of trouble blending with markers so I often use pencils. Your cards are darling and I love that you shared your coloring techniques with us.
Thank you for reminding me about my colored pencils and gamsol blending. I forgot how easily the blending is. I like the dual colored pencils you used. I have Prisma so I'm good there. These are darling cards.
I appreciate vids like these. I dont necessarily want to take the time become an expert colorist to make cards. Too much time to learn I just want to make cards! Lol.
I LOVE the coffee card you made it is so cute and very useful. Thank you. Love watching your videos as I always seem to pick up a tip or two. thank you.
Haven't used gamsol for awhile. You brought it back to my thoughts and I look forward to trying it again. Thanks as always for a wonderful video with so much good information. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Jennifer Thank you so much for this video. I colour a lot and I really appreciate this how to video. My only regret is that I live in Australia and a lot of the products you use and recommend aren't available here. I do buy from various American companies but shipping cost are high and take anywhere from ten days to a month. Amazon has come to Australia,But they are doing a slow roll out so I'm hoping that 2018 will open up a new variety of suppliers to us here. Love watching you create. Cheers Lisa
Lisa Ainscough Lisa I’m in Australia and I think I have found the gamsol from an Australian supplier, I can try to remember where if you are interested. I have found other Australian suppliers by going to the brand website (mama elephant, hero arts etc) and looking at their Australian stockists - I found a lot of new online stores that way. But yes, stuff is so much more expensive here and to buy from the US costs more plus shipping plus time :( but I heard recently the Aussie dollar is going up so that should make supplies a bit cheaper for us!
Hopefulleeeee Amazon Australia will ship craft products to NZ ? 🤗 But I have to say we have Krafters Kart for one NZ supplier of products similar to SSS. I order directly from the manufacturer too. I can’t afford much anymore so I do little orders of US / UK products. And shock horror I buy some Chinese stamps too. They are completely different and no comparison to US/UK products but living in an out of the way place has one drawback. Shipping! And the currency of course. 2 drawbacks. No judgment please.
Thank you so much , I have never colored with pencils because of the smoothness I like on my cards but by watching your video and how the Gamsol works , Wow I think I will have to give the pencils another try . I love your cards both are super fun and cute .. Happy Holidays
This is so great bc I think it will be so much more affordable than markers, and I feel confident I can get great results after watching your tutorial:) thanks so much!❤️
I use Mona Lisa from Michaels because gamsol is just a brand name I have never used that so not sure if there is a difference by the Mona Lisa works great just another option for everyone. I also use a small baby food jar with a sponge on the bottom and pour some Mona Lisa on the bottom and dip my paper stump in Love your cards
Very beautiful cards. I prefer pencils even in everyday writing. I am partial to watercolor pencils, but I do like the wax based and oil based pencils and using the Gamsol. Just because of the price I use the Spectrum Noir, but if you use the right cardstock I can't tell much difference. I just love to color. Hugs to Lila! Merry Christmas to everyone.
This is such a good and easy technique for beginners. I'm not good at colouring, have tried yusing markers, water soluble colour pencils , brush pens and find it difficult to control the water distribution. Using regular coloured pencils and gamsol seems easier to work with and probably less expensive than Copics and water soluble colour pencils. I'm def. going to check out where I can buy gamsol where I'm based. Thank you for the tutorial.
Jennifer, I have used colour pencils for years to just colour, and watercolour pencils for cards. But I like the blends I,it's of regular pencil crayons. Where can I buy the gamsol from? You make it look so effortless, but then you do that with all your projects. Thanks for the help.
I never knew about dangers of Gamsol. Since I already had gamsol, found empty bottles with felt top on Amazon. Thank you for your information, love your videos.
Wonderful !!! I was so excited to see this video !!! I would very much so LOVE to see you do a video on the CHAMELEON COLOR ALCOHOL MARKERS. I have used them some but I could really use some visual help from you lol. Maybe one of these days :)
Thank you so very much for your wonderful tutorials. I have learned so much and lost a lot of fear of trying new techniques. Could you please tell me about the collage medium you used to pop out the little heart?
I LOVE your videos!! Thank you so much for the instruction and inspiration. I tried this technique. The pencil marks blended to a much nicer visual texture but the color did not move or spread at all. I’ve had no success with shading in any medium and I’ve tried MANY. LOL LOL. This looks like a much simpler way to get really good results but I’ve failed yet again. Is gamsol different than other 100% odorless mineral spirits? I had some on hand so tried that while waiting on my gamsol delivery. Did you use special paper?
i have an old pencil sharpener that is old school. :) i have two sets of these - gave me first set to lila - and it truly just depends on how much you use them.
Do you also sell the cards that you make. My twin girls who are 6 years old love watching your videos. We watch it before we go to sleep every single day. They love the cards that you make. If you do sell them how can I buy them for both my girls. Any link if you could send me. We live in Australia. I tried buying a couple of things for them. It is getting a bit expensive for me right now so I was wondering if I could buy the cards from you. Cuz buying supplies for the twins could be really expensive. They wanna be a card maker like you when they grow up. We love you Jennifer Aunty ❤️
Thank you for the tutorial! I was wondering whether gamsol or baby oil work with water-soluble pencils. Yeah, I could just use water :D but I feel like baby oil on a paper stump would be less damaging for the paper. Have you ever tried it?
Love love your videos and I’m always learning something new!!! This one has left me with a few questions … what’s the best ink to use with the gambol? Also, in another video, you really liked the chameleon pencils, how do they compare against the prisma color and the ones you featured in this video?
Does anyone know of a list of Prismacolor pencils that blend especially well together? I have 2 large sets of these and don’t want to spend more $$ when I have 132 colors to choose from! Thanks Jennifer, for all the wonderful teaching and encouragement you give! 💕
Hi Jennifer, Thanks for all of your videos! I purchased the Honey Bee stamps and die for the "Snowbirds" coffee cup card. I've made it, quite similarly to the one you made : ) , and it looks great. In fact, even my 14 year old daughter, who is not quite as excited about crafting as she used to be, thought it was awesome! One question for you-- did you somehow adhere down the flap (the coffee cup flap w/sentiment)? It doesn't seem quite right to put the card in the envelope when the lid sticks up. Thanks again and keep the videos coming!
esta técnica es la que más uso ya que los lápices de marca como Ranger u otros son demasiado caros al igual que los marcadores como copic o charmeleon o tombow, saludos desde Chile :)
Hi Jennifer, I love your videos and I feel like I go to "stamping and card techniques class" every time I watch your videos, thank you! I have been hesitant to get gamsol because I'm worried the gamsol would leave an oily stein behind the paper...does it?
This may sound like a weird question but I will ask it anyway. Have you ever thought about giving the company that sell the products you are show casing a heads up that you are going to feature their products so they can make sure to have a lot of that product on hand so that those of us that watch your videos and decide we must have that product will be able to order it right away? I mean with 245k subscribers they must realize that something causes a lot of people to want a certain product all the sudden. Just a thought.
Hi Jennifer, this was a very informative video tutorial today. Can you tell me, would the Gamsol work with other types of coloured pencil? The HoneyBee Stamp sets are fantastic and I have just found out that they ship to the UK so whoopee! It is very difficult seeing products being used that it can be heart breaking when I find out that they are a US company and that they do not ship to the UK. Anyway back to the video, great techniques demonstrated thank you. :O)
hi! so it depends on the pencils. i find most work, but i have heard that not all do. what brand do you have? i know it works with prismacolor and polychromos too.
It isn't a brand name - it is called ARTSWORKZ - it is probably a stationery shop brand. I just wondered whether the Gambol was able to blend any type of lead. I am probably better to purchase the Chameleon pencils with the Gambol so that I am certain it will work.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for the tutorial I'm so happy about it because I'm horrible coloring, I already bought my set 😀 can I use regular cardstock? Also my set came with tortillones, do you know what are they for, thanks in advance, have a blessed weekend
I use Gamsol with my colored pencils and have never had a problem with oily residue. Gamsol itself doesn't appear oily at all to me. Baby oil is oily so I wouldn't even attempt to use it. Hope this helps some.
Not at all! It's really awesome to use! It doesn't take much to blend the colors and mine has never even bled through the back of the paper. My alcohol markers soak through to the back but not gamsol. When I first was interested in colored pencils and was unsure about gamsol I went out to my shop and got some mineral spirits and tried it to see how it worked. I decided it was something I liked so I invested in the gamsol which is low odor.
Another wonderful video! I think I could watch you all day, and I've learned so much from you. Thank you, Jennifer, for all of your videos and for having the patience and kindness to share your talent with us.

Nancy Lynn I have the same hand issues and found Gamasol makes up for a lot of mistakes and gives a much nicer finished product. Have fun!
Nancy Lynn you are so right!!!! I'm older as well with arthritis and find the colored pencils and gamsol easier to use and control. I continue to practice with the alcohol markers but it's so hard to get in the tiny areas when my hands shake and still stay in the lines.
thank you all for sharing all this. it is good to know so i can share with others in the future! xo
Thanks for all the very useful tips and info!! You are such an inspiration and a very helpful honest person. We all appreciate you very much!
thanks!
Great video Jennifer and to bring an old technique back again.....I used Gamsol a long time ago and I'm going to take it out again and yes it does last a long time...very nice cards and tfs
Honey Bee makes the cutest critters!
I love this, and I find Gambol to be wonderful to work with when using coloured pencils. I use it often, and I am always pleased with the results!

What a great help! Need to get these. Love using colored pencils, but I think this set is a must.
Jennifer, I love watching your videos. Thank you for explaining things and wow your colouring is awesome!
Jennifer you make this look so simple and I am not afraid to give this a try TY

Thanks so much Jennifer. I have not used my Prismcolor pencils very much since I bought them. I plan on getting some gamsol!
Love watching your videos, I’m learning so much as a beginner stamper. Thank you Jennifer😊

Awesome video, Jennifer!
Thank you so much for the tips.
Thanks for the beautiful cards Jennifer, they are truly an inspiration! Have a great day and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Thanks Jennifer, I will give this a try with my brand new Prismacolors!
Diane Bokar works great !
Very informative and cute. Thank you.
I feel like I'd go through those pencils soooo fast. What pencil sharpener do you like to use?
i have an old pencil sharpener that is old school. :) i have two sets of these - gave me first set to lila - and it truly just depends on how much you use them.
Do you also sell the cards that you make. My twin girls who are 6 years old love watching your videos. We watch it before we go to sleep every single day. They love the cards that you make. Jennifer McGuire Ink oh my god you replied. You just made our day. Thank you so much. 😘👍🏻🎉💐🎊🙏🏻 Love Rhea Reet 😁😁 and Mum (Mansi)
That is just the cutest story ever!
Jennifer you really are a blessing! I get such joy from watching You! And you are so kind!
Jennifer, you are the best. You are so kind 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷😘
These cards are adorable! 😍
xo Lisa
Thank you for the tutorial!
I was wondering whether gamsol or baby oil work with water-soluble pencils. Yeah, I could just use water :D but I feel like baby oil on a paper stump would be less damaging for the paper. Have you ever tried it?
Love love your videos and I’m always learning something new!!! This one has left me with a few questions … what’s the best ink to use with the gambol? Also, in another video, you really liked the chameleon pencils, how do they compare against the prisma color and the ones you featured in this video?
Wow!tenks am so empressed
Great coloring and so fast.
absolutely gorgeous!! Your very talented!! :)
Love this! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Great tips.
Thank you for this video. I think I'll try using colored pencils again. What pen are you using to make the stripes on the bird's scarf? Thanks.
Looks like this will be really great for me. Love these. Thanks for sharing. Where can these products be purchased?
Does anyone know of a list of Prismacolor pencils that blend especially well together? I have 2 large sets of these and don’t want to spend more $$ when I have 132 colors to choose from! If anyone knows of a list, could you give me a link? I’m another one with somewhat shaky hands and would love to get better at coloring!! Thanks Jennifer, for all the wonderful teaching and encouragement you give! 💕
i don't have that list but boy i woudl LOVE one!
Hmmm.... maybe someone will see this and share which Prismacolors THEY love to color with! Anyone care to share??
Hi Jennifer, thank you for this super informative video - I learned a ton! One question, can I use Gamsol with Versafine Black Onyx ink? Thanks again!
Beautiful
Hi Jenifer. I love your videos. I was wondering have you used the chameleon pens and how they compare to copics?
Hi Jennifer, Thanks for all of your videos! I purchased the Honey Bee stamps and die for the "Snowbirds" coffee cup card. I've made it, quite similarly to the one you made : ) , and it looks great. In fact, even my 14 year old daughter, who is not quite as excited about crafting as she used to be, thought it was awesome! One question for you-- did you somehow adhere down the flap (the coffee cup flap w/sentiment)? It doesn't seem quite right to put the card in the envelope when the lid sticks up. I do have trouble with copic also - maybe give these a try .
Thank you
Awesome, thank you!!
love your videos
esta técnica es la que más uso ya que los lápices de marca como Ranger u otros son demasiado caros al igual que los marcadores como copic o charmeleon o tombow, saludos desde Chile :)
Thank you
Could you use a colorless blender from Copic instead of gambol?
What do you think about water colored pencils. That is what I was told to use.
I bought the snow pen. Each one of my snow flakes had a dimple. Could you please let me know what I am doing wrong?
Hi Jennifer, I love your videos and I feel like I go to "stamping and card techniques class" every time I watch your videos, thank you! I have been hesitant to get gamsol because I'm worried the gamsol would leave an oily stein behind the paper...does it?
no

Does the gamsol leave the paper wet vs markers ? I wouldn't want to smudge... especially as a lefty!
no. not at all.
Is there a paper that works best for gamsol?
What type of paper did you use for your colored pencil work?
i link it in description :)
Great video..
Hi i'm new in this, and just wondering what type of paper and brand did you use for stamping, sorry i'mso new and want to learn from basic😬
Is the technique and process same with the baby oil? I've never seen gamsol in shops here.
yes
I use Crayola pencil crayons w baby oil. 😂 I wonder if there’s a big difference if I were to use an expensive set?
Hi Jennifer... Does Gamsol leave the paper oily? or does it leave oily behind the paper? (sorry, I'm just learning English...)
Does anyone know if the Gamsol bottle is plastic or glass? Ty
Mine was plastic but they do sell it in glass bottles as well.
Kammy Daniels mine is glass
Maureen Thomas someone on UA-cam said Gamsol could not be in plastic so I wondered. Thank you
Kammy Daniels mine is plastic.
It may need to be a certain type of plastic - a different grade or something like that to be able to handle the gamsol.
a certain type of plastic - you are right. this packaging has been around for a long time. works great. glass would be great too!
Thank you Andrea I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my comment. :O)
Hi Jennifer, thanks for the tutorial I'm so happy about it because I'm horrible coloring, I already bought my set 😀 can I use regular cardstock? Also my set came with tortillones, do you know what are they for, thanks in advance, have a blessed weekend
Is gamsol only used with colored pencils?
Quick question-does it leave an oily residue?
Xoxoxo
nope! :)
I use Gamsol with my colored pencils and have never had a problem with oily residue. Gamsol itself doesn't appear oily at all to me. Baby oil is oily so I wouldn't even attempt to use it. Hope this helps some.
Maureen Thomas thanks! Does it wet the cardstock much?
Jennifer McGuire Ink Bought some gamsol yesterday. Played with my colored pencils last night. WOW! Loved it! Xoxo
Is that Gamsol bad for your health? Very cute cards.
Do you have a place to buy the felt tip Gamsol now in 2024? The product in this video is no longer available!
First!!!
