Thank you mainstream media for reporting these kinds of stories. We hear so much negativity about cops these days that when we hear positive stuff it's so refreshing. Hard work ethic pays, and I hope this kid pursues his dream!

Thank you Officer Keffer for your kindness and generosity. Thank you for recognizing the good character of this young man who just wanted to get to work. Many Blessings to Jourdan and the officer. I hope Jourdan is doing well as this is 7 yrs ago. Jourdan has such a great attitude, that I am sure he will go far in whatever career path he chooses.

This. This right here is what we need. Cops that show that they care. Cops that wear the badge and uniform because they truly want to make a difference. Yes... police work is part social work. That's what needs to be understood.

I walk 2 miles to the train station, get on for 10 mins (about 9 miles) walk an additional 3 miles to work and back in the afternoon. I am very proud to walk to work. My ancestors, the Rarámuri, are great runners. I hope I am making them proud. Modern day has conditioned me to rely on trains, buses and cars but I wish I was just as strong as they are.

I think for every bad cop that screws up and gets reported in the news, it needs to be followed by a story like this because the good ones deserve to be looked up to, it's just hard to do that when you hear 4 bad stories followed by one good one, when really there's a lot of good ones out there to be told

At :55. Steve Hartman claims that many officers would have just left this young man alone and moved on. That is NOT true, and he knows it. Dark at night. Industrial area where there's nothing open. Young black man in a hoodie. Let's all grow up here and understand....clearly....that most cops would have "investigated" this incident as suspicious activity and in many cases around the country such young black man would have ended up either dead or in handcuffs on his way to the police department. It's sad. It's pathetic. It's offensive. AND.....it's 100% true. Most of the time. And Steve Hartman has got to be smart enough to know that as a fact.

In 2003 the transmission went out on my truck in Stroud, Oklahoma. I didn't have the money to fix it so I had to abandon it and get a Greyhound bus home which was in Ohio back then. A highway patrolman saw my plight and took me to the nearest Greyhound bus station which was 30 miles away. I never got his name but he was about 30-35 years old and I have never forgottten him for helping me get out of a precarious situation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart !!!

There are definitely a lot of good "millennials" out there along with other good people of various generations. These are all the ones we need to come together to heal this nation as much as possible. Police, racial divide, politics, etc have all suffered from the evil people encouraging the division. Before you believe anything you hear (especially the negative, blame placing stories) you should always investigate the matter. There are some dark forces in our midst who benefit from our nations instability. Follow the money and find out who benefits.

this happens more often than you think. officers going out of their way to help people that have nothing to do with their job description. i saw an officer give a woman & her baby in a stroller a ride when it was pouring rain out. i also saw an officer stop when a kid was trying to fix his broken chain on his bike. the officer fixed it for him. thats just 2 incidents that i saw. multiply that by thousands within our population. theres just no cameras around & they dont vie for publicity. nypd.
