As someone who is adopted myself, always tell your kids if they are adopted and make sure that they know that you love them just as much as they would child related by blood.
I really think that parents would love an adopted child even more because many times blood related children come from not wanted pregnancies and unhappy marriages
The Doctors line at the end sitting on the wall with Amy and Rory about good to see them again 'in the flesh' was supposed to be a hint that the Doctor had worked out that Amy was a flesh avatar, as this episode was supposed to be in the first half of the series, episode three, but for some reason it got switched out for the Black Spot episode. Which is a shame as its a small subtle hint that the Doctor is onto it before he goes to the planet with the Flesh on it. I also felt the way Amy was dressed in this episode was to deliberately disguise the possibility she might be showing early stages pregnancy to further add to that mystery. So a pity they moved this one.
Not if "Vincent and the Doctor" qualifies as standalone. Though with the whole setup of Amy being sad for missing Rory and not knowing it, and then tying it in with The Pandorica Opens, I'm not sure how any of the episodes in season 5 could be called standalone, except for the Dreamlord one.
I just went on and rewatched The Girl Who Waited in preparation for next week, since I didn't remember it well. Cried more that I probably should have. It's not even among my favourite episodes to cry to!
its an episode I can go back and watch countless times and still feel the emotions I felt the first time watching, only other episode that can do that to me is Journeys End with Donnas departure
That is one of my favorites too, it's nice to see a few other people agree... it seems to fly under the radar a bit. The story, the acting, even just the look of the whole ep are top notch, and it makes me cry every. single. time. lol
This is actually one of my favourite episodes of the revival. Gatiss tends to really get Doctor Who and I think the concept of the dolls is a really well executed one that genuinely really scared me when it first aired. Matt Smith is essentially on top form from this point onwards (though when was he ever not?) and the next two weeks are a couple of the most interesting episodes of the 11th Doctors era.
I really appreciate the story they were trying to tell with George, his parents and the Doctor but I cannot stand the Dollhouse portion of this episode so I very rarely watch it, if at all. I feel like Rory and Amy were shoehorned into an episode that they didn't even need to be in. George is their son, because he chose them to love and protect him in this big scary universe and they do. Its like reverse adoption 😊
@@PerovNigma Christmas last year, if memory serves me. You can see the whole story on the Christmas Mailbag episode, they make a *lot* of fun with that there ^^
But baby swapping has happened in real life, multiple times. I read not long ago about a man who didn't know it himself, and nor did his parents (They died never knowing) that he wasn't their biological child and that he'd been switched with another baby in the hospital because the DNA matched up) and then that case from like the 80s or 90s with the two girls who were switched (more than one of those cases too), and then that set of identical twin boys switched (like that movie Big Business, only in real life) so that they grew up as two sets of fraternal twins only to learn later when one was confused for his identical twin, the truth. Sometimes it might be a mistake, other times it may be a nurse being really nasty/criminal. Who knows. But it does happen.
While this isn't my favorite episode of season 6, I still enjoy the concept, and it led you guys down some rather entertaining tangents afterwards. Keep making great content! :)
I remember eating a cupcake when I was watching this episode for the first time. This episode scared me so much that it put me off cupcakes for a month.
It's the same for me as you, Aaron, regarding remembering dreams. I can never remember anything, even the fact I had some dreams. But there are few that I could when I had woken up right after. And when a minute passes, I can recall only glimpses.
Some spoiler free Dr Who news for you if you haven't already read about it. It's been reported that Suranne Jones has offered to be the surrogate mother for her good friend John Barrowman. Suranne Jones was in one episode of Dr Who but you probably (Aaron aside maybe) don't know what that means because you miss the credits. She played "Sexy" the Tardis in the Dr's Wife. So in Who terms it means The Tardis could be giving birth to Jack Harkness's baby....wibbly wobbly timey whimey etc...
So the doll house was filmed using the interior of Dyrham Park, and the unicorn and the wasp house was filmed at llansannor court for the exterior (the same house as the torchwood estate in tooth and claw), and i belive most os the interior shots were filmed at Tredegar house, witch is used in loads of other epidodes whenever sombody is in a fancy house. (for instance, Christmas invasion, human nature/family of blood, end of time and most recently rouge)
My grandmother worked as a nurses aid in a hospital. After a miscarriage, she adopted the baby of a patient who had a baby and didn't want him/couldn't afford to keep him. My grandmother's husband said no but she did it anyway and raised him and her other 3 kids with a mostly absent (due to illness and later deceased) husband.
When it comes to dreams i've had dreams that i can never seem to remember and there are a few that i can recall most of the dream and ive also had some deja vu dreams (the same exact dream twice). Dreams are so interesting and i wish there was a way to record and rewatch dreams.
