Every man should have a 12.5-16 Carbine or Middy FSB upper and a A 2 style rear sight. Cheap bomb proof no need to carry batteries always there....Drop in Quad, MLok or the cheap Magpul SL enough to mount a light and STOCK up a few combat loads worth of a good Bonded Soft Point or TSX and a heavy OTM
I just found your channel homie and love what you got going on so far my take on it is. I have two ar rifles and have had used some ar style rifles professionally all of which had some sort of iron sight be a buis or something built into a carrying handle. The benefit you get for how little weight it puts on your rifle is an incredible trade and they are awesome but only if you remember to zero both your optic and sights.

Pick a memorable day once per year to change your battery. Problem solved. Some guys recommend using your birthday as this day… whatever works for you just don’t forget. Now with cell phones, it’s really easy to set a annual reminder any day of the year.

The things I recommend in this video are to help the fella who bought his first AR to somewhat comfortably get a few rounds through it, in order to work on basic mechanics of normal function, reloads, clearing malfunction, shooting WITH a sling, “workspace” bla bla. Once a fella has those basics he can go through a fighting rifle 1 class and get more from it because he’s got the basics down. Obviously getting a decent actual, good ar prior to going to any class is the way, but 95% of you goofs will not, or have not done that. Might as well get SOMETHING out of your cheap ar other than posing for pictures. You still don’t need backup sights, flashlights or spare sight batteries, for any of this. You just need to go practice.

If you have room on your rail for backup irons, put backup iron on your gun. Unfortunately. My first AR came with GI sights. And I liked me so much I made myself an M16A2 Rifle Clone
I still have my CAR15, my first, from the 90's with the A1 front sight post and carry handle. I'll never get tired of the OG setup
