There's more to Kokushibo's story than you think. He was tricked into thinking that, the only way to be as strong as his brother was to become a demon . He didn't envy his brother I don't know if you can even call that jealousy , he sort of looked up to him to the point when he became obsessed with becoming as strong as his brother. Kaigaku on the other hand is just an asshole.
@@iexist2217 you got that right, kaigaku is an absolute asshole, a very toxic person with a very toxic view on the world but I don't think kaigaku was jealous of zenitsu. kaigaku knew he was better than zenitsu, that he worked harder, that he deserved to be a pillar. he saw zenitsu as a kid who never had balls to do anything, a crybaby who always ran away from training and tasks, as a burden to him and yet somehow these two were to have the same title of a pillar? it wasn't fair because in his eyes zenitsu had everything served to him on a platter, the ability to train under a pillar and the title of the pillar. kaigaku was an orphan, he struggled his whole life and always had to work hard for everything he got, he felt a need to prove himself to others. i believe he has a complex to prove he is better than everyone, almost like inosuke but much much more toxic. im sure that kaigaku would have turned out different if he had a family, he would still be a cocky asshole but would have never done things he did in the manga. kaigaku is a snake, a toxic fuck who only cares about himself but deep down is absolutely terrified of being abandoned and neglected, thats why he became a demon, not only to save his ass from being killed but to prove others how strong he is and how wrong they were to doubt him. also because upper moons are so much cooler to hang with than the pillar wannabes. wow i wrote a lot, sorry if its confusing, im very tired and im not sure what im doing plus im writing this on with my phone so. in short, kaigaku isn't jealous of zenitsu, he is a toxic person with a power complex who didn't get any love as a kid. in his mind if you don't make yourself bleed for something, you don't deserve it. or something like that i can't remember what I wanted to say
I would probably actually use this in the future when I have kids, and tell them that this is what happens to siblings that lose connection towards each other, that get jealous and envy each other....Moral: if u mistreat, or don't care about your sibling, you become a demon

hey uh just so you know the 2nd and 3rd facts you listed are wrong :3 for #2: yoriichi was the first to become a slayer, while michikatsu became a samurai like he wanted to, but then he encountered yoriichi one day - who saved him from a demon who had slaughtered a good portion of his colleagues - and decided to abandon his life as a samurai and join the demon slayer corps - he actually ended up being right behind yoriichi in terms of skill, being the 2nd most powerful demon slayer ever! despite that, his envy did grow for #3: the flute that broke was actually a gift from michikatsu to yoriichi from when they were kids, with yoriichi telling his brother that he would treasure it deeply, keeping his word as he kept it with him until his natural death at the age of 80 - that of which was during his final meeting with michikatsu (who was now kokushibo) in which yoriichi managed to flawlessly slit (not decapitate) his now demonized brother's neck, despite his old age. kokushibo would then wait for a second attack despite knowing that it would kill him, that of which never came, with yoriichi dying a natural death while standing up. kokushibo, having all this bottled up violent envy turned rage towards his brother, would slash yoriichi's now lifeless body in two, unintentionally slicing the flute that he kept as well, with the realization of his brother's love proceeding to drive him to tears, leading him to keep the now broken flute as a momento hope this helped! :3
The demon slayer manga just ended for me yesterday. This has to be one of my favorite manga’s of all time. The anime is great, but the manga is just a different story. The next animated season will hopefully be great. This manga has brought be laughter, tears, and so much more. Well demon slayer, it’s time to say goodbye.
Yeah, Kimetsu No Yaiba will always hold a very special place in my heart....I'm sad that it has reached it's end but I'm greatful to gave read such beautiful manga, I went through a rollercoaster of emotions while reading it. All those chapters was worth reading
@@mysticblink5164 if your where they defeat Muzan, (sorry if ur not idk) pretty much Tanjirou turns into a demon, regrew an arm, but he turned back in help of everyone else, Nezuko turned into a human, Kanao is blind in one eye, same as Tanjirou and one if his arms (the one that got cut off) isnt healing well. And in the last few, it skips two generations to where Kanao, and Tanjirou are grandparents same as Nezuko, Zentisu and Inosuke and Aoi, hopefully that sums it up for you C:
It would because it would mean that beneath all that jealousy and narcissism Kaigaku still loved Zenitsu but didn’t realize it because of his demonic transformation until Yushiro told him he was pathetic. And what’s worse is that Zenitsu will never know because this happens as Yushiro and Zenitsu are leaving Kaigaku to fade away
All the siblings in KNY just..get fucked in life. Muichiro and Yuichiro, their family died then Yui died and Mui became a demon slayer. Kaigaku and Zenitsu, Kai became a demon and indirectly killed their mentor and Zenitsu had to kill him with a technique that he created to *fight beside him.* Sanemi and Genya, their family died and Genya called Sanemi a murderer and essentially ruining their relationship. Then Genya died apologizing for everything and Sanemi was left heartbroken. Mitchikatsu and Yorichi, Yoriichi was the 'Chosen One' and was the better twin overall so that led Kokushibou to be jealous and resent him. He went as far as becoming a demon just to get 'better' than Yorichi. Nezuko and Tanjirou, their family died but they got a happy ending. Kaigaku and Kokushibou ruined their relationships with their brothers because of jealousy. Muichirou and Yuichirou just drifted apart in a way? Yuichirou wanted the best for his little brother. Sanemi and Genya began their rough relationship when Genya called Sanemi a murderer, but he was a child at the time so he didn't know any better. I genuinely believe all of this could've been avoided with some talk no Jutsu. If they had a full heart to heart talk, I’m sure their relationship could have been mended. Its unfortunate that Genya died. Sanemi just wanted to protect his sibling, but from the environment he was raised in he only knew how to be aggressive. His father was abusive and lashed out on his siblings and his mother, of course Sanemi himself would be aggressive towards other. He didn’t know how to open up and love. Kaigaku wasn't always evil. With Gyomei and the other orphans, he was smiling and laughing with them but he messed up because he tried to steal money. His whole thing is 'survival'. He's the embodiment of "I just need to outrun you." Kaigaku could've been a great character if he had a better chance at life. He was forced out by the other orphans and they lied to Gyomei, saying he just ran away. He was a child thrown out into the dark with the other kids *knowing* it was dangerous out there. He survived because he ratted them out. Why would he protect the same people who sent him to his death? It makes no sense. I would have done the same thing in Kaigaku’s shoes. He was just a kid. Kids are selfish and Kaigaku only worried about himself because thats how his life was. Worrying about others got you hurt. He grew up in a dangerous environment that shaped him to be the person he is. A selfish, ignorant boy who became a demon out of cowardice. He wanted to prove he could be strong, wanted to show people that he was someone to be proud of. He just went about it the wrong way.
Honestly I’m pretty sure Kaigaku would of been perfectly content with living with Gyomai and the other orphans. And who’s to say Kaigaku didn’t regret selling them out
The "Why don't you let me free!?" "Cause you never dare to be!" lines hit me hard every single time man. And the image at 1:05 is absolutely gorgeous, Yoriichi and Michikatsu's Dynamic is so interesting!
Everything is so well put and executed! The drawings, the face expressions and their emotions, the pacing. How you made the ending scenes for each of them so emotional! I like how it seems that Kaigaku is reaching out for Zenitsu and the Genya and Sanemi part... Bruh, this is some fantastic stuff right there. The only flaw is that I can only like it once while I'd like to like it non stop. Amazing job!!
this hurts even more when you realize both Sanemi and Michikatsu genuinely loved their brothers but because of their upbringings and situation turned out for the absolute worst
Am I the only one that feels like Kaigaku never really got much character development? I kinda hoped for more of an overview of his perspective when he treated Zenitsu and Jiguro (his old instructor) poorly? Like he had to have had a misunderstanding or misperception of them. Sadly after entertainment district, manga got extremely rushed so he was one of those characters that got affected by it, wish he had a separate prequel story like Giyuu or Rengoku or atleast appear with someone else like a Zenitsu fanbook

Chapter 179 made me sob😭💔 I wish Kokushibou cared for Yoriichi and I wish Sanemi did not treat Genya that way... Kaigaku was a jerk but I wish he had a good relationship with Zenitsu..
i think kokushibou cared somehow deep down, but didn't realize it until it was way too late, and yoriichi was already dead. i think that was emphasized by how shocked and upset he looked when he slashed yoriichi's dead body and saw the flute, and later on as his demon body disintegrated we say that he still carried the same flute with him.
Coming back two years later as season three is getting animated and I’m in tears again help. The story boarding, the animation, the designs, they’re all so incredible!!

I love how in the part of the battle where Zenitsu slayed Kaigaku, Kaigaku was like " oh, he's gonna end up dead, like me anyways. " And the Yushiro comes into the frame ( OUT OF NOWHERE ) and saves Zenitsu. And then Kaigaku be like: >👁️👄👁️< ^ ^
this was... a wild ride to watch. the song is painfully accurate for all of their relationships, really. people don't usually pay much attention to zenitsu's brother

I can't help but rewatch this video so many times. My friend introduced me to this song in middle school, and I hadn't heard it since. Combining this and Demon Slayer, which I recently finished reading, is the perfect way to make me cry. I think Genya's death was the one that hurt me the most and seeing it every time truly brings a tear to my eye. This was beautiful.

Wow this was absolutely stunning and made me tear up. Thank you for this work of art! I always have to imagine that the Shinazugawas got jealous of how the Kamado’s, the Rengoku’s and Shinobu and Kanao’s relationships. How the other sets of siblings would happily lay down their lives for each other and love each other with their full hearts while Sanemi and Genya couldn’t even be in the same room together.

@@mysticblink5164 if your where they defeat Muzan, (sorry if ur not idk) pretty much Tanjirou turns into a demon, regrew an arm, but he turned back in help of everyone else, Nezuko turned into a human, Kanao is blind in one eye, same as Tanjirou and one if his arms (the one that got cut off) isnt healing well. And in the last few, it skips two generations to where Kanao, and Tanjirou are grandparents same as Nezuko, Zentisu and Inosuke and Aoi, hopefully that sums it up for you C:

Oh my gosh if Kaigaku actually reached his hand out for Zenitsu in the manga, like at 1:24, that would have broken me.
It would because it would mean that beneath all that jealousy and narcissism Kaigaku still loved Zenitsu but didn’t realize it because of his demonic transformation until Yushiro told him he was pathetic. And what’s worse is that Zenitsu will never know because this happens as Yushiro and Zenitsu are leaving Kaigaku to fade away

All the siblings in KNY just..get fucked in life. Muichiro and Yuichiro, their family died then Yui died and Mui became a demon slayer.
Kaigaku and Zenitsu, Kai became a demon and indirectly killed their mentor and Zenitsu had to kill him with a technique that he created to *fight beside him.*
Sanemi and Genya, their family died and Genya called Sanemi a murderer and essentially ruining their relationship. Then Genya died apologizing for everything and Sanemi was left heartbroken.
Mitchikatsu and Yorichi, Yoriichi was the 'Chosen One' and was the better twin overall so that led Kokushibou to be jealous and resent him. He went as far as becoming a demon just to get 'better' than Yorichi.
Nezuko and Tanjirou, their family died but they got a happy ending.
Kaigaku and Kokushibou ruined their relationships with their brothers because of jealousy. Muichirou and Yuichirou just drifted apart in a way? Yuichirou wanted the best for his little brother.
Sanemi and Genya began their rough relationship when Genya called Sanemi a murderer, but he was a child at the time so he didn't know any better. I genuinely believe all of this could've been avoided with some talk no Jutsu. If they had a full heart to heart talk, I’m sure their relationship could have been mended. Its unfortunate that Genya died. Sanemi just wanted to protect his sibling, but from the environment he was raised in he only knew how to be aggressive. His father was abusive and lashed out on his siblings and his mother, of course Sanemi himself would be aggressive towards other. He didn’t know how to open up and love.
Kaigaku wasn't always evil. With Gyomei and the other orphans, he was smiling and laughing with them but he messed up because he tried to steal money. His whole thing is 'survival'. He's the embodiment of "I just need to outrun you." Kaigaku could've been a great character if he had a better chance at life. He was forced out by the other orphans and they lied to Gyomei, saying he just ran away. He was a child thrown out into the dark with the other kids *knowing* it was dangerous out there. He survived because he ratted them out. Why would he protect the same people who sent him to his death? It makes no sense. I would have done the same thing in Kaigaku’s shoes. He was just a kid. Kids are selfish and Kaigaku only worried about himself because thats how his life was. Worrying about others got you hurt. He grew up in a dangerous environment that shaped him to be the person he is. A selfish, ignorant boy who became a demon out of cowardice. He wanted to prove he could be strong, wanted to show people that he was someone to be proud of. He just went about it the wrong way.

Everything is so well put and executed! The drawings, the face expressions and their emotions, the pacing. How you made the ending scenes for each of them so emotional! I like how it seems that Kaigaku is reaching out for Zenitsu and the Genya and Sanemi part... Bruh, this is some fantastic stuff right there. The only flaw is that I can only like it once while I'd like to like it non stop. Amazing job!!

I kinda hoped for more of an overview of his perspective when he treated Zenitsu and Jiguro (his old instructor) poorly? Like he had to have had a misunderstanding or misperception of them. Sadly after entertainment district, manga got extremely rushed so he was one of those characters that got affected by it, wish he had a separate prequel story like Giyuu or Rengoku or atleast appear with someone else like a Zenitsu fanbook

Chapter 179 made me sob😭💔 I wish Kokushibou cared for Yoriichi and I wish Sanemi did not treat Genya that way... Kaigaku was a jerk but I wish he had a good relationship with Zenitsu..
i think kokushibou cared somehow deep down, but didn't realize it until it was way too late, and yoriichi was already dead. i think that was emphasized by how shocked and upset he looked when he slashed yoriichi's dead body and saw the flute, and later on as his demon body disintegrated we say that he still carried the same flute with him.

I can't help but rewatch this video so many times. My friend introduced me to this song in middle school, and I hadn't heard it since. Combining this and Demon Slayer, which I recently finished reading, is the perfect way to make me cry. I think Genya's death was the one that hurt me the most and seeing it every time truly brings a tear to my eye. This was beautiful.

I always have to imagine that the Shinazugawas got jealous of how the Kamado’s, the Rengoku’s and Shinobu and Kanao’s relationships. How the other sets of siblings would happily lay down their lives for each other and love each other with their full hearts while Sanemi and Genya couldn’t even be in the same room together.
