They both are RK series models after all! There ought to be resemblences between them, even if not directly visible! I really felt kinda let-down that they didn't explore the potentially deeper connection between these two in the game, it really felt like wonderful potential wasted to me :(.
Idea: Their god is Kamski and Markus is RA9. Think about it. If Kamski created the androids, he could have easily made them susceptible to becoming deviants. And Markus? If he dies before Kara and Connor arrive at Jericho, there is a little line you'll hear from one of the android refugees saying something like, "I can't believe he's dead." and "Markus was RA9." Perhaps RA9 is an android Jesus given both free will and love by Kamski. Markus is the only android we know hasn't died. Whereas Kara has been [censored for spoilers] by [censored for spoilers.] With Connor, he is the only android who can reupload their memory. Markus has had enough time to foster both love and hatred for humans, and he has developed free will. Kara subconsciously knew from the beginning that [censored for spoilers] was [censored for spoilers] the whole time. And the only reason Connor developed warmth for hank was because Connor developed deviance. I personally think Markus is a cut out for the player. Markus, if he was in his own control, wouldn't be peaceful nor violent; he would raise awareness for the cause and do what he thinks is best for Jericho.
0:49 - 0:55 is my absolute favorite thing! Wow, the idea of them, what training together in the early stages of their lives, is so touching. "You who I called brother." That would've been such a brilliant plot point to have in the game, them developing together and being brothers and being torn as they fought. Brilliant and beautiful animatic.
I am 4 years late but it would make no sense because RK800-51 date of activation was the 15 august 2038 but the concept is interesting for another (older) RK800 Connor where the RK800-51 Connor would have ancient memory of their past together

Though I do love this, I kinda like to see if the perspectives were reversed, like Connor is a deviant but sees Markus as threat because Markus has killed countless innocent people (adding to the line “all the innocent who suffer from your stubbornness and pride”) and is singing about how he sees Markus, though wants to do right by androids, is only making things far worse and must be stopped. Maybe put the scene of Hank getting the call about the police officer Markus shoots before him and Connor meet Kamski, and the threatening version of Markus’ speech in the News building takeover mission to really show Markus is the villain and Connor is the hero trying to take him down. Kinda sad that option isn’t in the game, like I tried to have Markus be more evil and Connor as a deviant but because he cares for the humans and grows to understand not all deviants are bad, he wants more of a compromise but Markus is the extremist who doesn’t see coexistence with humans as a possibility, but no matter what I did, the end game no matter what makes Markus look good and Connor bad, even Hank turned on me, even though in the play through Markus killed that police officer I mentioned before. Just saying, love the vid, but I’d be interested to see this but reversed

Personally I love the line "All the innocent who suffered from your stubbornness and pride" sang by Markus to Connor. Because it represents so greatly Machine Connor: even if he refuses becoming deviant, he has emotions, since he can feel empathy and feel unsure about what he's doing, he's *stubborn* because he denies what he feels and he's full of *pride* too because of everytime he says: I always accomplish my mission* he considers himself as the savior of humanity, and better than humanity since he can't be disturbed by emotions (contrary to Hank who lost his professionalism since his son died). And of course he is the source (if you play as a machine) of a lot of deviants deaths: Kara and Alice, Rupert, the Tracis...
This would be a really cool twist on how Connor being the hero and Markus being the villain. Personally, I love both versions and can see either of them being the hero or villain. Nice idea! :)
Him holding Hanks gun and stressing about it made me think that maybe he did become deviant. Maybe he do have feelings now, but he blamed Hank's death on the Android revolution. He believes that Android rising up causes innocent deaths to the humans and so sees them as villains
Imagine if Markus won the violent revolution with Connor by his side. If Connor dies cyberlife would probably send him back but as a machine maybe more advance and impossible to convert. This could really happen, with Markus having to endlessly kill Connor coming back to finish his mission and being unable to save him.
I don't think I have adequate words to express how amazing this work is. The dynamics are pretty dang well done and the entire composition gave me a sucker punch right in my fucking feels. The environmental detail and and positioning of everything is so good, and even though it's only an animatic, the emotions portrayed is enough to make a heart clench. Fantastically done, man. Fantastic.

I love how Connor's led us yellow when he takes our hanks revolver! That little detail shows he could have some level of emotion or at least a baseline of frustration for failing to keep his partner alive

Oh no ;; Not Simon & North, my babies However, that was such an amazing animatic! Not only was Connor very fluid with his more "investigator" movements, but Markus was very fluid in his "leaderly" movements! I enjoyed how song lyrics synced up with things that happened in ways that were a bit unexpected (ex: "Is this what you wanted?" when Connor shows Markus the news screen) Overall an amazing video!

Jana Koorts Another good example is how flawlessly the transition is from when Connor jumps over the bridge, rolls, then ends up in the hallway with Simon, jumps off of the wall, then captures him. A lot of thought obviously was put into things, and it makes the video very enjoyable. ^^

Oooh, where do I even start? The detail you put into the lighting and the shadows really helped further set the tone for the animatic (dramatic, intense, a conflict of extremes) and the camera movement when North ran across the catwalk was really cool! I also really loved the shot of Amanda over Connor's shoulder there. Then the final confrontation between Markus and Connor backlit by headlines upon headlines and the Russian Roulette revolver and the last scenes of Connor and Markus, with Connor in what I presume is his mindscape, trudging through the snow-- it was a really neat detail to use to tie them together and end with that shot. You really captured the intensity of the song.
I literally can't begin to put into words how much I love this. the amount of emotion put into this, with the obvious emotional turmoil that Markus is going through with Connor, being brothers, yet ending up on the opposite sides of war. it's such a beautiful animatic and you pulled it off spectacularly. definitely one of my favorite fan works for D:BH

This whole thing got me good.
This was spectacular, I had goosebumps. I've always adored this movie and to have one of my favorite songs from said movie being used in an animatic of my favorite game honestly made my day. I couldn't stop smiling.

Them training together and actually being family stabbed me right in the gut. And the tension the entire time of Connor making his way through Jericho and taking out his people while they watch updates on the news and us just seeing those familiar scenes from the game with his crew and then HOOOOOOOOOOOOLY HELL, I got major chills at the end with Connor waking up and that PANEL OF HIM WALKING OUT OF CYBERLIFE. Dude this is freaking amazing! Also "I send my sword" playing while Connor is infiltrating Jericho is so fitting. Connor is basically Cyberlife's weapon.
OML THIS IS SO AMAZING I HAVE NO WORDS JESUS HOLY MOTHER OF CHRIST WOW xD ThOUgh, I don't wanna be useless and do have some little critique points! :') (sorry not sorry xD) First off, the camera, character, and object movement were all amazing! You nailed many shots so perfectly I can't even aaaaaahhh The flashback to Connor and Markus being together as buddies was also very well made. The flickering and noise of the screen are super intriguing! (The song choice was also p e r f e c t~) But, the anatomy is kinda off at some points. ex.: At 1:28 Connor's feet have different sizes and from 1:49 to 1:52 Markus' upper arms are *a little* too long, just a little. (It's more noticeable at 1:51) And, last but not least, the lipsyncing. Throughout the whole animatic, the lipsync is practically non-existent. I don't know if it was on purpose but I just wanted to point it out. For example at 2:02 Connor is singing, and you did draw his mouth open but it just looks like his lips are a little partened, same with Markus at 1:41. Y'know, it's okay to exaggerate with the mouths, especially when the characters are singing. Try drawing them as if they were yelling or something. And I suggest to look for some simple lipsync tutorials. Yo this is thrilling to listen to and watch. You did so fucking amazing with every scene and detail!! Especially the fighting moves and jumps and runs- by god this is so perfect?!!! I wish that some day I’ll get to see this animated aaa!!
I wish I could stop watching this but I just can’t... It’s too damn good. Ultra-creative, the multiple layers to it make it feel so poignant. Markus & Connor’s inherent kinship as androids, that “brotherhood”, the concept of Markus as being “chosen”, Connor singularly representing the other perspective, this is so genius. I really don’t think any other fandom could use this song, only this works - Connor seeing Markus as betraying what he is, Marcus seeing Connor as a one-man army, and both are correct. What happens in DBH really is of biblical proportions, a lot of fiction is, but because the fiction is so modern it feels less epic - DBH feels pretty damn epic from an objective standpoint, and this animatic brings it to the forefront in such a creative, exciting way. Is a mission from God to free slaves more important than a mission from morality? I think probably not! With all the superhuman capabilities of the androids - the fear that Connor strikes with his power, like, his stride so well-timed with the intense chanting; and the dire situation of Marcus’s fight to save an entire type of being... This animatic just really gets down to the really awesome roots of DBH. As much as I love silly DBH memes, nothing beats fan content like this that really seems to honor and understand the source material. Also just like... excellent art, storyboarding, timing, yowza! Definitely a masterpiece. 👌🙏
Connor is pretty horrific when you think about it. He's a literal murder machine with endless stamina, intelligence, strength that never wavers and he can choose what orders to obey and what to dismiss depending on the main objective... Yet Hank still tries to block his path a few times in game.. BTW I totally love this animation, I actually think it's better than the original prince of eqypt scene and i don't say that lightly. Plus the idea of Connor and Markus living together before getting Sent out is great! I love that idea but I don't think Markus would have looked like himself at that time, since Kamski redesigned him to better fit Carl's aesthetic so technically he could have been indistinguishable from Connor /whatever Connor's original model was

Depends on how you play it. If you go non violent deviant and cold blooded Connor it works but if you did the opposite then your way is better

Icy Twaine Of course ^^ It is very obvious a lot of time, effort, and thought went into each drawing and movement. Markus & Connor conflict a lot, especially with Machine Connor involved. It is portrayed very well in the video!
Ex. 2: "Let my people go!" when Markus looks down from the bridge to see Connor holding one of his people captive
And this is _really _*_excellently_*_ done_ in addition to tugging mercilessly on one's heartstrings
Jana Koorts Another good example is how flawlessly the transition is from when Connor jumps over the bridge, rolls, then ends up in the hallway with Simon, jumps off of the wall, then captures him. A lot of thought obviously was put into things, and it makes the video very enjoyable. ^^

Oooh, where do I even start? The detail you put into the lighting and the shadows really helped further set the tone for the animatic (dramatic, intense, a conflict of extremes) and the camera movement when North ran across the catwalk was really cool! I also really loved the shot of Amanda over Connor's shoulder there. Then the final confrontation between Markus and Connor backlit by headlines upon headlines and the Russian Roulette revolver and the last scenes of Connor and Markus, with Connor in what I presume is his mindscape, trudging through the snow-- it was a really neat detail to use to tie them together and end with that shot. You really captured the intensity of the song.

I literally can't begin to put into words how much I love this. the amount of emotion put into this, with the obvious emotional turmoil that Markus is going through with Connor, being brothers, yet ending up on the opposite sides of war. it's such a beautiful animatic and you pulled it off spectacularly. definitely one of my favorite fan works for D:BH

I was IN the entire time and and mY HEART. Them training together and actually being family stabbed me right in the gut. And the tension the entire time of Connor making his way through Jericho and taking out his people while they watch updates on the news and us just seeing those familiar scenes from the game with his crew and then HOOOOOOOOOOOOLY HELL, I got major chills at the end with Connor waking up and that PANEL OF HIM WALKING OUT OF CYBERLIFE. JUST!!!! MY DUDE!!!! Nothing I type will be enough to express how amazing this was THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR SHARING.

ThOUgh, I don't wanna be useless and do have some little critique points! :') (sorry not sorry xD)
First off, the camera, character, and object movement were all amazing! You nailed many shots so perfectly I can't even aaaaaahhh
The flashback to Connor and Markus being together as buddies was also very well made. The flickering and noise of the screen are super intriguing!
(The song choice was also p e r f e c t~)
But,
the anatomy is kinda off at some points.
ex.: At 1:28 Connor's feet have different sizes and from 1:49 to 1:52 Markus' upper arms are *a little* too long, just a little. (It's more noticeable at 1:51)
And, last but not least, the lipsyncing.
Throughout the whole animatic, the lipsync is practically non-existent. I don't know if it was on purpose but I just wanted to point it out.
For example at 2:02 Connor is singing, and you did draw his mouth open but it just looks like his lips are a little partened, same with Markus at 1:41. Y'know, it's okay to exaggerate with the mouths, especially when the characters are singing. Try drawing them as if they were yelling or something. And I suggest to look for some simple lipsync tutorials.

Wait... I just noticed. At around 0:58, you can see that it's Connor-60 invading Jericho. Could it be that... the real connor, the one we play as in game, is out there not killing people?
Probably an oversight, and Connor actually can end up in his “60” form depending on how many times he dies or if he transfers his consciousness with the fake Connor.

I wish I could stop watching this but I just can’t... It’s too damn good. Ultra-creative, the multiple layers to it make it feel so poignant. Markus & Connor’s inherent kinship as androids, that “brotherhood”, the concept of Markus as being “chosen”, Connor singularly representing the other perspective, this is so genius. I really don’t think any other fandom could use this song, only this works - Connor seeing Markus as betraying what he is, Marcus seeing Connor as a one-man army, and both are correct. What happens in DBH really is of biblical proportions, a lot of fiction is, but because the fiction is so modern it feels less epic - DBH feels pretty damn epic from an objective standpoint, and this animatic brings it to the forefront in such a creative, exciting way. Is a mission from God to free slaves more important than a mission from morality? I think probably not! With all the superhuman capabilities of the androids - the fear that Connor strikes with his power, like, his stride so well-timed with the intense chanting; and the dire situation of Marcus’s fight to save an entire type of being... This animatic just really gets down to the really awesome roots of DBH. As much as I love silly DBH memes, nothing beats fan content like this that really seems to honor and understand the source material. Also just like... excellent art, storyboarding, timing, yowza! Definitely a masterpiece. 👌🙏

Connor is pretty horrific when you think about it. He's a literal murder machine with endless stamina, intelligence, strength that never wavers and he can choose what orders to obey and what to dismiss depending on the main objective...
Yet Hank still tries to block his path a few times in game..
BTW I totally love this animation, I actually think it's better than the original prince of eqypt scene and i don't say that lightly.
Plus the idea of Connor and Markus living together before getting Sent out is great! I love that idea but I don't think Markus would have looked like himself at that time, since Kamski redesigned him to better fit Carl's aesthetic so technically he could have been indistinguishable from Connor /whatever Connor's original model was
