- Menton is located in the French Riviera, on the south east coast of France, at the foot of the Alps. The city of Menton, nicknamed "The city of Lemon". You will find the old town of Menton with its typical Italian facades, very colorful. From the Sablettes esplanade, you will see a very splendid ramp and the Saint-Michel basilica, both of which are perfectly restored.
Menton est située sur la Côte d'Azur, dans le sud-est de la France, au pied des Alpes. et se trouve à une trentaine de km de Nice et 1 km de la frontière franco-italienne.
En vous promenant, vous découvrirez la ville de Menton, surnommée "La ville du Ciron". Vous trouverez la vieille ville de Menton avec ses façades typiquement italiennes, très colorées. Depuis l'esplanade des Sablettes, vous verrez très splendide escalier à la rampe et la basilique Saint-Michel, tous les deux sont parfaitement restaurées.

What a beautiful town. Not too big. Old charm, food, the beach, not to far from bigger towns, dang if I had the means I'd stay for quite awhile

Thank you - a lovely walk in a beautiful place, I always love the ancient medieval streets too. The mountains seen at the end of that beach are likely Italy - as the map shows this town right at the border of France with Italy.

I've been here twice, two weeks each time, it's beautiful, it's expensive, a lot of French holiday here too, some older wealthier retirees lived in our hotel. You will need to be able to speak good tourist French here.

^ Do you need a whole day for Menton... or can you do it in half a day if you are just going to be around the water and old town?
The only problem with Menton is that the town is invaded every weekend by flocks of Italians. Which creates endless waits in restaurants.
