    The music takes away from the overall focus of gathering information. Never understood the playing of music on a informational channel/video as I am sure all of us already have our music play lists arranged.

    That was all quite realistic as someone who has visited Cambodia 31 times in 20 years staying up to 3 months per visit.
    But you didn’t mentioned the government registration you need if you stay longer than a month.
    This is relatively new coming in during covid and it is you landlord or hotel who have to register you with the government…there is an app which I have that sets out the procedures…if this is not done you will be refused a stay of more than a month.

    Hi I would just like to say from all the different videos I have watched that appartment rental price around and close to Pub Street in Siem Reap are only about $100 to $200 per month but if you are in Phenon Penn then the price is about $400 to $600 per month approximately!

    Just watched a video 6 months old and it said a good life could still be had on $800 per month in Siem Reap. -- Was curious of your opinion on the subject. -- For me $400 / month is too much for my frugal requirements. -- It was reported they were all over the place for rent costing $150 - $200 / month ? (frugal) -- My budget is about $1500 (USD) from our SS each month until I die. Hoping not to spend more than necessary to be comfortable & it appears that might be doable ? A $1000 Budget would allow me to save some for any unexpected 'issues' ! -- Health insurance and blood pressure meds are needed as well. Perhaps I can squeeze it all in for $1100 - $1200 if necessary ? > What say you sir ???

      Facts. Living on the bare minimum doesn't sound like an enjoyable retirement. His budget as he said does't involve going out much. I am not much of a drinker myself but I can be very social or at least want to explore and see the country and travel around SE Asia. Eating western food at least once or twice a week would be nice and I'm sure it can double the food budget too. Each to their own. We all want the same thing, to enjoy what life we have left!

      Sadly most of my friends only get $900/month Social Security check. Thank God on the outskirts of Phnom Penh you can still get an apartment for $50/month and right now expats on Siquijor island in the Philippines are paying only $40/month to rent a house. Not much to do on Siquijor island though, but luckily Dumaguete is not far away.

    • @nino714
      @nino714 Рік тому +1

      @@MyLifeThai371 Yeah, that's gotta be rough. My mom passed away a few years ago and didn't even get $900 a month. At least their money will go a lot farther in SE Asia. I'm turning 50 this year and plan to retire at 55. I am putting as much money as I can into my 401k trying to live within my means and not make any unneeded purchases. I am focused on jumping off the hamster wheel as soon as I can. Hopefully we can meet up when I retire and have a drink. I dream of retirement in SE Asia. You and your friends are lucky to be living free of the stresses that we got here in America. Media and social media in particular has a lot of people believing that you should hate your neighbor if they are in a different political party or have a different skin color. It's disgusting. I know it is media fueled because I have a bunch of friends and acquaintances of different political beliefs and skin color and we enjoy each other's company with no problems. If you hear we all hate each other in America don't believe it! lol Sorry for the tanget rant. Anway, we all need to enjoy what life we have left at whatever budget we have. 👍

    Hello James. I have noticed retirement visa regulations and conditions have become more expensive in SEAsia in the last ten years. I'm living in Indonesia ATM, on an age pension, guaranteed income every month until I die. Here in Indonesia most pensioners like myself stay here on a B211A short stay visa (sponsor required), approximately $AU835 for first 60 days, then extendable twice, 60 days/60 days, at a cost of approximately $AU500 per extension. Then reapply onshore for a new visa and do it all over again. A retirement visa (Itas) here is firstly $US1500 a month income and $US20,000 in the bank. The process takes about 2 months. Plus a number of rediculous hurdles you have to jump through.
    So, because of the huge cost of visas, many are looking to Cambodia as a second home base.

      If you want to leave and return from Indonesia it will cost you $AU600 for an exit permit. Valid for 12 months, NOT multiple entry as I understand it.
      I am sure they are catering for retired government workers, public servants with a fat retirement income.

      every video I have watched on Visa for Cambodia including the retirement visa all say that you do not need to show any money in your bank or any money you get every month and you can get the retirement visa if you are under 55 but getting close to 55 but it depends on which travel agent you use to get the visa as some are strict and others are not strict with the requirements neede, but if you go to the embassy in Phenom Penn then the are very strict I heard!@@wetravelandlivinginasia2748
