Dunn was an incredibly beautiful lirico spinto. Everything she did was gorgeous feminine with an actual large sound that was not faked. The luminosity and nobility of this singing here is incredibly fulfilling. I prefer this over so many others that are often far too mannered, cavernous and silly. It feels natural.
I love Schwarkkopf’s musicality, but not a huge fan of her actual voice. And I really do not like the way Janowitz sings…she sounds like an untrained singer trying to sing classical. Te Kanawa’s rendition of these songs is sublime, as well. Effortless and sumptuous. I also really like Auger’s rendition
This is exquisite singing, not a shrill note, big voice, full and round. I love the voice. I hope a lot of people will listen to this
Underrated Soprano / I heard her live and have to say : an big American liric Soprano voice with real quality

Thanks so much for uploading this! Any information about date, conductor, orchestra and/or venue?
Certainly the best with Janovitz and Schwarzkopf for the " Four Last Lieder " ... and also the fresh voice of Lisa della Casa !

I also adore Norman’s version, too
Is this the 1986 Montreal live performance under Gunther Herbergh?
I don't know. The person I received it from had no information on it. But your guess sounds good.
Who is the conductor ? Thank you ...
