    I’m your Rapamycin study. I’ve been taking 6mg once a week for about 2 years. I’m 59, 197 cm, 90 kg. I work out everyday for 1 - 1.5 hours. High protein diet. 11% body fat. I’ve been on this workout schedule for at least a decade. I’ve noticed no reduction in strength/energy since I started Rapamycin. Actually no side effects whatsoever. As you say, a longevity study would take decades, so I’ll let you know. So far so good.

      Big thanks for sharing your Rapamycin journey with us! The results that I'm very interested about to see with Brad's trial is what the impact is with and without rapamycin. Keep us updated how everything goes with your journey!

    Nutrition facts has a vid on a study where they control for fat and quality . Animal protein vs. Plant based protein.
    Plant based was better likely due to lower ratio of Branched Chain Amino Acids. Tho the research didn't control for animal protein having PCBs and other pollutants

    Hi brad, would an aneurysm be negatively impacted by 6 mg of Rapamycin weekly cycling on and off? Looking forward to your answer

      Hi Rosana, my guess is that he will answer that we don't yet have data on that so currently not possible to answer that question. But if you want to try then you can contact him through his youtube channel instead then you probably will get an answer because I don't think he is checking the comment fields here anymore.

    My issue with creatine is its potential affect on creatinine numbers thus skewing efgr calculation. I've currently stopped taking it until I can determine if I have a legitimate kidney issue or not.

    If you have the funding i have the trial site

      Brad is using lifeextension.io for this trial as the funding platform so my guess is that it's not interesting to change platform but you can always contact him to check.

    I am 73 years old and in perfekt health but my muscle srength is decaying. I have this year started with 24 hours fasting once a mounth and will possibly do this more frequently. At the end of the 24 hours i walk 2-3 hours to boost the fasting hoping to make the effect "deeper" ( more of autophagy) Can this be compared to taking rapamycin and/or metformin?
    I have learnt from Robert Lustig and others that natural saturated fats are perfectly ok. Stanins is pure poisin for most of us! ( fixing metabolic problems by other means)

      I know Peter Attia has changed his mind around fasting because it may decrease muscle. I have also look into the topic some years ago and especially longer fasts show in both animals and humans that muscle loss happens. That can be good to have in mind.
      I will in the future interview the rapamycin researcher David Sabatini and ask him about different ways on how to inhibit mTOR instead of rapamycin. So next year I hope I will get that interview published.

      he's right that you need double the amount of protein, but he's wrong about plant protein and fats. We need animal protein daily and fatty meats!

    Has anyone tested using rapamycin for cancer patients??

    • @masteronething
      @masteronething  3 місяці тому

      Everolimus, a rapamycin analog, is FDA approved for cancer treatment. You can read more about this in this paper www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10103596

    I'm 25 but have had multiple ct scans that have damaged my dna will rapamyicin help me to reverse this damage?

    • @masteronething
      @masteronething  11 місяців тому

      Sorry to hear this. I'm not a physician so I can not give any recommendations what to do. But the thing I can say is that I have not read any studies on the topic that rapamycin would help with reversing DNA damage.

      CT scans do not "damage DNA"!

    You're wrong Brad about one thing, that is we cannot get our protein from plants!! Very bad idea. The other thing is, (okay so two things) we need animal fats and should never go for "lean" meats. Crazy idea. The keto people have worked this out but the real healing comes with a high animal fat diet. Our whole body is made of things directly related to animal foods; our brain for example is made of cholesterol (saturated fat) the myelin sheaf, our bones of collagen, we make vitamin D from cholosterol.. Errr, I think you need to re-think this advice however the amounts of protein I agree with. check out body builders: no plant based people there. Meat, eggs and sometimes rice. Pushing plant-based agenda is just lining the pockets of monsato and the other big names controlling our supermarket shelves etc.

      I cannot deny that humans are both carnivores and herbivores, and should eat both really. Fat's ect, you are correct you need. But, I saw a documentary of athletes getting their protein from plants and not animals. remembering that every animal based food you eat, also contains the animals systemic waste, toxins, bad fats etc, which are being ingested. I am not here to disagree, because you are not wrong in principle, but in the documentary I watched, cutting out animal proteins, meats etc gave the athlete a HUGE difference in performance it was astonishing, and professional athletes for endurance, agility, fighting sports etc are turning to more plant based diets and feel the benefits in results. Like the dilemma, if you are stranded without water, do you drink your own urine even once? Now survival experts believe you are better off without it, because the burden of putting back in the toxins being removed is more detrimental to your survival situation than drinking the urine for water. There are two camps in that area. Personally, if I was dying from dehydration I would rather drink the urine than not have water at all.... The name of the documentary I mention is called "The Game Changers", and it's on netflix now, about the benefits you can see from plant protein rather than animal protein with toxins. Arnold schwarzenegger stands behind it, even though he is past his day. for top bodybuilders today, their health is at such risk from the steroids etc anyway, they have to stick to animal foods to become mass monsters. For endurance, if I was an athlete, I would go the plant route, but still get my essential fats, collagen, etc, etc from clean extracted supplements and not animal meat. Lucky I am not an athlete because you cannot beat a good ribeye steak.

      There are fully vegan body builders. Also, our bodies can make cholesterol and also recycles cholesterol.
      Do you know anyone who has a cholesterol deficiency? Do you even know the name of the disease from a cholesterol deficiency? It's incredibly incredibly rare. Scurvy is more common. Even 100,200, 1000 years ago cholesterol deficiency outside of starvation doesn't exist on a population basis.
      What disease happens when there is excess cholesterol over long periods of time? Atherosclerosis. Cholesterol being stored in the artery walls. A necessary step for heart attacks.
      Without an excess of cholesterol stored in the artery walls there are no heart attacks.
      The #1 killer of Americans and Europeans. The fastest rising cause of death in India.
      Between too much cholesterol and too little, population wise, of ppl have enough calories they have more to too much cholesterol right now.
      #1 killer vs you probably don't know anyone with a medical cholesterol deficiency (SLOS)
