Kingda Ka: 3 hour lines; about a 10-20 second ride...not even kidding. Too overhyped This ride: much shorter lines, very intense turns, rides like a steel coaster, and very large drops for a wooden, and it's long too! So sick of all the hype Kingda Ka gets, because I'll ride this five times over then ride Kingda Ka once just for the sake of riding it. This one is far better in my opinion and right across from kingda ka too
When I went there 5 years ago and went on Kingda Ka the line was around three to four hours long. The lines wait time can be shorter than that. The problem was that they only had one station open of the two. Great Adventure is a good park, but it is so mismanaged. The Great American Scream Machine had the same problem. All three trains running, but a 3 hour wait time. These were all on weekdays, so the park was not too busy.
If you get in line for Kingda Ka at the last minute just before they shut the line down for the night and are the last group you can ride twice in a row!! And there's usually no more than a 15 min wait either
I rode Meanstreak back in early spring it's actually had a lot of work done then again an old wooden is not supposed to be insanely smooth I avoid the very back in any old wooden coaster
Theyre not comparable at all, this is a smooth ride that resembles a stell coaster, meanstreak bangs you around, its rough af like a classic wooden coaster. I like both, but for completely differnet reasons
All i said while watching this was "this ride is RUTHLESS! IT doesn't even give you that moment to watch your life flash before your eyes right before the drop , you just go"
I have rode this ride 2 times and I gotta admit this ride is really intense like when u reach to the top of the hill u feel like ur gonna fall out, its scary but fun
The wood and track pieces are made in a factory and shipped to the site instead of normal wooden coasters which are built by hand on site. Saves time, money and makes for a smoother ride because it's much more precise.
That feeling is often intentionally added on wooden coasters to add to the thrill. However, they are perfectly safe. Every coaster undergoes extensive tests to make sure that even guests with the longest arms wouldn't be able to touch the structure.
the best part of watching this ride on UA-cam is that you don't worry that it wasn't maintained and the car isn't going to go flying into the parking lot...just saying
+Theme Park Review Jeez, you don't have to be rude about it. I can see you were TRYING to be funny, but you just sound like a jerk. It is uncommon for roller coasters to derail, but it DOES happen.
Went on it for the first time today. Honestly my favorite along with Batman now. It's A LOT taller and higher in person, and the drops feel incredibly intense, and last a lot more in you're own head. I've seen 8 year olds ride this!
I wonder how many people took their kids on this for their first coaster thinking it'll be tamer than the steel ones that loop when it's easily one of the most intense ones in the park lol
***** 24.5 seconds of airtime, and Brenardo Sanchez, before you say it has more airtime than any steel coaster, Diamondback has 24 seconds of airtime, although El Toro's airtime is a lot stronger than it is on The Voyage and Diamondback.
Will probably be a close call. I'm 6' and 275 lbs. with most of weight in my upper body, but I made it without too much problem about a month ago. My first ride was sort of uncomfortable, but I put my hands up on all my follow up rides to "stretch" my body out and it was way more comfortable. Your biggest problem will be fitting on Bizarro and Batman: The Ride. Go to row 5 on those two coasters and sit in the "big boy" seat (it will be the only seat in the row with 2 seat belts instead of 1).
@BrenMcCloud That's what I thought too. I was hesitant to go on it because I was afraid it would shake me to death, seeing how fast it is and all. But i did go on it and it is as smooth as a steel coaster, like Superman Ride of Steel. It's truly an unbelievable experience, so I say give it a shoot. They used factory tech to cut the wood, none of that hand work stuff, so its built with incredible accuracy--which is why its so smooth. My top 3 favorite, along with Top Thrill Dragster and Bizarro
I've rode all 3. I have to agree on the beast being better. You get 2 monster hills instead of one.this is only 5 mph faster. Also the helix into tunnels on the beast is way better than the turns on this coaster hands down.
John Hall I like Beast, but it's kind of boring in places. The reason El Toro is superior is it doesn't let up until the very end. Beast does have its moments (some, wicked awesome), but it takes so long to get to these spots, I have yawned on Beast before. Son of Beast wasn't that great to be honest. It's selling point was its height and its loop. Take out the loop, and I barely cared after that. I used to go to Kings Island every year growing up (2001 - 2009). After they took away the loop the lines for S.O.B. :) went down drastically. KI realized they made a dud and tore it down recently. Had they made the ride differently (not have that big azz double-helix in the beginning that beat the shit out of everybody) and kept the loop, the ride would have never been torn down. Instead, we might have seen Banshee in Vortex's place. BTW: I love Vortex. I'm glad they chose to tear down SOB instead.
nellingwood2 Agreed. I have been on the Beast and I doubt if it deserves to be in the top 10 wooden coasters in the world. El Toro is definitely one that deserves to be in the top 3, if not first place. SO sad that it was broken when I went to Great Adventure.
lmao are you kidding me? The beast and son of beast are trash. Both are giant wastes of wood, especially the son of beast considering it had to be dismantled since it was designed so poorly. Track length sure as hell doesn't make a coaster good by default.
I remember this was my first ever roller coaster that I went on and it was the day it opened. I would never forget this crap lifted me up out my seat on the first fall
My favories at SFGAv are in order.....El toro, Nitro, Bizarro, and Kingda Ka.. El Toro is my favorite coaster ever. Millenium force comes close at Cedar Point
This is probably one of the best roller coasters out there. No not wooden, just plain roller coasters. The intensity, airtime, smoothness, and length all create one amazing ride. If you're going to Great Adventure, this is way better than Kingda Ka by the way.
Rode this for the first time at night yesterday. Talk about intense especially when you couldn't see what was coming up next. Next to Nitro, probably my favorite ride in the park.
This was my first "big" roller coaster and I fucking loved it! I'm not gonna lie though it's very intense and kind of scary but it breaks you in for all the other rides! Great adventure is the best!
Me2 but I in the first drop when it was going up I felt like a crack in my back and I couldn't breathe for like 10 secs I don't know why it happened though
I have to disagree superman ultimate flight and bizzaro are my favorites but el toro is still awsome i live an hour away from it six flags great adventure is my home park I remember when el toro opened
No doubt about it, its one of the top 10 roller coasters in my opinion. If you want to talk strictly wooden coasters I think its the second best only behind the Voyage. I have yet to ride Boulder Dash and I have heard its one of the best as well. The Beast is still excellent. El Toro is def better than even most steel coasters IMO. There is just something amazing about wooden roller coasters. I think the roughness and such is the charm that they offer, along with the best air time.
0:50 that guy in the middle just took off his shirt.
LOL
VinnyB haha i saw!
+Sythe5665 I know right?!? LOL! I had to watch it three times to even see it. If it had never been pointed out I would have never noticed it.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that.
Kingda Ka: 3 hour lines; about a 10-20 second ride...not even kidding. Too overhyped

supersuperwendydvc lol that's what I did at disney with a few of the bigger rides :-D
supersuperwendydvc I remember the rolling thunder riding it 5 times in a row...ahhhhhhh good times
my friend waited 30 minutes for kingda ka
Guys this is a lot taller than it looks I went on it it was insane
Ikr it is awesome
Best ride their
*there
i rode this and lost my glasses
i was literally blind for a month
The beast is better :/
My favorite wooden coaster on the planet! Love this thing! That first drop is so awesome!
this ride is getting a little old, but it is holding up like no ride before it. best wooden coaster in the world. i love this coaster
That first drop is so deceiving. It is soooo much steeper than it looks lmao.
to me from the outside it looked as steep as it was
I felt like I was coming out of my seat
It felt like the train was going all the way to hell
The back row is like magnums magic seat. Insane ejector on the drop and 2 camelbacks. The front row piv doesnt do this legendary prefab justics
@@PrinceK2007 LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
it looks a LOT less frightening than it actually is it's so intense
It's actually one of the most intense in the world! Behind i305, skyrush and El Toro are the runners up
This is a great ride for kids. My niece loves it :) But if you are looking for thrills you shold ride fury 325, omfg its insane!!
yeah was fury was intense the first bank turn after the drop
MudgateBronn Great Ride for Kids Really??? Great ride in general.
MudgateBronn Can confirm, rode the Fury twice yesterday! AMAZING ride.
I'm 9 I agree I love it so much
What is up with you people comparing everything with a track and train to Fury 325?
This ride is crazy, the support beams seem like your gonna hit your head on them.
Haha 0likes
***** Why do likes matter lol?
***** it just does man
C Dalonzo i guess in a 12 year olds eyes
***** And your saying im 12 because?
Im gonna guess because i play mc lol people cant accept the fact that the game is fun for all ages
"ohh, wooooo! ooooooooooohhh! WOOOOOOOW! woooooooo! wooooooo. woooooow! wooooooooow!"
Someone mentioned Mean Streak here....trust me there is no comparison. El Toro is an isanely good woody...Mean Streak is not all that great.
I agree. mean streak sucked to me
Mean streak gave me intense back pain for a week
+AmonAmarthFan609 It gave me and my bandmates migraines for 2 days
I rode Meanstreak back in early spring it's actually had a lot of work done then again an old wooden is not supposed to be insanely smooth I avoid the very back in any old wooden coaster
Theyre not comparable at all, this is a smooth ride that resembles a stell coaster, meanstreak bangs you around, its rough af like a classic wooden coaster. I like both, but for completely differnet reasons
All i said while watching this was "this ride is RUTHLESS! IT doesn't even give you that moment to watch your life flash before your eyes right before the drop , you just go"
Of all the wooden rollercoasters in the world... This is the most intense.
Outlaw run...
DanDoes Minecraft Ah, I'll have to look that up... Thanks
Son of Beast too, but that's gone.
+Gra Piken I've been on this roller coaster on Wednesday and hafta say it was A MAZING!
the Voyage... because it's about as fast as this, intense, and so freaking long
This is the only roller coaster I've ridden since I was a small child that has actually made me SCREAM.
The first drop on the El Toro you'll never forget. It literally feels like your going straight to hell
I have rode this ride 2 times and I gotta admit this ride is really intense like when u reach to the top of the hill u feel like ur gonna fall out, its scary but fun
I saw this and thought, "whatever, old wooden coaster, how bad could it be?" I was badly wrong.
Only Intamin could do so great.
*_i still have PTSD every time I see this ride's loading station and/or first drop_*
It’s u from the viper pov
The wood and track pieces are made in a factory and shipped to the site instead of normal wooden coasters which are built by hand on site. Saves time, money and makes for a smoother ride because it's much more precise.
OH WOW!!!
i went on this for the first time yesterday...the drop man the drop!!!!
I couldn’t breathe, it shocked me because I wasn’t expecting that intensity and it is INTENSE
Great ride! Amazing how much lumber was used to build this ride.
If you go on this when the park is closing it goes sooo fast I've done that before
Whatever the wait time is for this ride TRUST ME WAIT FOR IT this ride is AWESOME nothing like it deff a top ride in great adventure
That was fast really fast Really fast goes all the way up straight down that's a big drop
This wooden coaster rides like it was made of steel! Awesome, can't wait to ride this someday :D
I have been to this place in Last week. It's awesome ride. The best roller coaster ride I ever had.
hope u also shouted and enjoyed like this :)
Today I road it for the 1st time it's move and drop you like you are a hot rock! So great the 1sr 3 drops! Dam!
It was so scary when I went on the steep drop

+Calamity Babs Yes because that happens ALL. THE. TIME!
+Theme Park Review #sasscasm
+Theme Park Review Jeez, you don't have to be rude about it. I can see you were TRYING to be funny, but you just sound like a jerk. It is uncommon for roller coasters to derail, but it DOES happen.
+Fury325 Doug Not really, its a fucking stupid statement with a reasonable answer
I can agree with that
This ride is amazing but that first drop is truly more scrary in person
Went on it for the first time today. Honestly my favorite along with Batman now. It's A LOT taller and higher in person, and the drops feel incredibly intense, and last a lot more in you're own head. I've seen 8 year olds ride this!
Alex Morey I was 9 when I went on. It was my 1st big coaster.
+Devon Smith i was 9 too it was also my first big coaster
Alex, what?
you crazy batman sucks its cloned so many times
I wonder how many people took their kids on this for their first coaster thinking it'll be tamer than the steel ones that loop when it's easily one of the most intense ones in the park lol
El Toro has balls! This is one fast wood coaster!
Great ride, glad to finally be able to fit on this one.
Were you too fat?
Koalas he died, show some respect
I went on that ride twice and its so awsome!!
I THINK this is the coaster with the most Airtime.
The wooden coaster that holds the record for Most Airtime is actually The Voyage at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana.
***** 24.5 seconds of airtime, and Brenardo Sanchez, before you say it has more airtime than any steel coaster, Diamondback has 24 seconds of airtime, although El Toro's airtime is a lot stronger than it is on The Voyage and Diamondback.
It doesn’t have the most, but has the best
Probly the best roller coaster i have been on in a while . (:
I have been on many coasters in my lifetime this is by far the best ever!
Will probably be a close call. I'm 6' and 275 lbs. with most of weight in my upper body, but I made it without too much problem about a month ago. This is the only ride at great adventure that I'm too scared to go on again. It's really intense.
sionara11 Really? I think king is frightnig and I rode it 2 times O_O. El toro is like Nitro to me Fun, Fast and Exhilarating
Looks so smooth for a wooden
Wow!!!! Wow!!!!!
I LOVE THIS RIDEEE!!!!! THE DROP IS SO INTENSE AND FUN!!!!!!!!!
It's just like Balder at Liseberg, Sweden! :D Just a little more intense XD
El Toro =112.65km/t and 55m high
Balder =90km/t and 36m high
Just a little?
And balder has NO twisted turns
Wow, what's with the attitude? Seriously.... :/
Jacob Simonsen You made a mistake:
Balder =90km/t and 36m high and in Sweden
Balder wins.
+dandymcgee mistake? How?
@BrenMcCloud

Best wooden coaster ever erected! loved that ride...
Best wooden coaster of 2017
Why does this look like it was recorded in the 70s?
Best ride there hands down
I was on that Jawn today.
R u from Philadelphia?
What is a “jawn”
The dude who won't stop screaming sounds like Jack from "The nightmare before Christmas".
The Beast is #1, El Toro #2, and Son Of Beast #3
Lol yup. *****
I've rode all 3. I have to agree on the beast being better. You get 2 monster hills instead of one.this is only 5 mph faster. Also the helix into tunnels on the beast is way better than the turns on this coaster hands down.

Best wooden coaster in the world!
i went there yesterday, it was AWESOME
This was the scariest ride I've ever been on. I went on kingda ka after and i swear, this was 5x scarier
My favories at SFGAv are in order.....El toro, Nitro, Bizarro, and Kingda Ka.. El Toro is my favorite coaster ever. Millenium force comes close at Cedar Point
That first drop makes your heart come out your chest
Lol this is the only roller coaster where the second hill tickles just as much as the first. So much air time this dude isn't exaggerating
This ride is so intense
This wasn't recorded by Rob Alvey, was it?
Easily one of the smoothest riding wooden coasters i've ridden, scary as fuck though.
"Oh, wow."
You’re actually being thrown of the seat on this ride, only there’s a restraint bar.
That actually looks like fun and I absolutely hate roller coasters
I love El Toro
Is it weird that I kept hearing sex sounds in the background?
Sit in the last car and watch that whip the shit outta you omg you feel everything waaay more then the front or middle
1/3rd of the rainforest is missing? SIX FLAGS
when you go on it it is a big drop but the camera makes it look small
Im lucky that i live 45 minutes away from great adventure
wooden coaster single track=el toro
Wooden coaster dueling=los toros
This is probably one of the best roller coasters out there. No not wooden, just plain roller coasters. The intensity, airtime, smoothness, and length all create one amazing ride. If you're going to Great Adventure, this is way better than Kingda Ka by the way.
just like the gantlet at magic sprins
ive been on this twice. cried once. barfed the next time. and couldnt talk after for both.
Rode this for the first time at night yesterday. Talk about intense especially when you couldn't see what was coming up next. Next to Nitro, probably my favorite ride in the park.
don't worry, you'll come visit :)
ROFL, i was also there today. Sadly kinda ka was closed and it was a bit cold today :/.
Drink every time the guy says "wow" or "whoa"...
im going on this on monday!
My husband and I thought it was going to be an easy ride lol boy we were wrong!!!! INTENSEEEEEEEEE MY GOODNESS THAT DROP
I wanna ride El Toro! But unfortunately I live in Florida not New Jersey.
This was my first "big" roller coaster and I fucking loved it! I'm not gonna lie though it's very intense and kind of scary but it breaks you in for all the other rides! Great adventure is the best!
i passed out on the first drop... it's like a ride to hell...
Just went on this yesterday.
1:50 the moment when my stomach came out my ass.
1:48 the uh, oh, wah wah oh wah song.
When I went on this, the lap bars were tight so I barely felt any airtime, but felt all of the effects of the negative G-forces
Me2 but I in the first drop when it was going up I felt like a crack in my back and I couldn't breathe for like 10 secs I don't know why it happened though
Ha whenever they go down the hill "WHOA OH WOW!" Haha!! :) I love when people do stuff like that... it makes the video that much more enjoyable!! ;D
Went on that ride for the first time today... shit my pants and almost threw up
I rode this before and it was scary omg
Good job at the username and picture *golf clap*
I love that ride so much!!! Of all the rides in the park that is my favorite!
HAHA! LOVE IT! When I rode this a couple of weeks ago, I was saying AIR TIME! too!! LOL
This ride tops The Boss and the Voyage!
When I went there I got on every ride but this, I thought it was just an ordinary wooden coaster... It had such a long line! I'm so stupid
