That angle certainly shows how sharp the curve is even with a smaller size freight car. That is such a classic old railroad structure and this side you can see where the doors were for the small Freight cars of the time when this was used also as a freight house. A nice short to get the afternoon going
Yo Matt thanks for the videos!! Ya man. Been thinking of u and shoe a lot Sucks. Well, Maybe see ya in Britt were coming down from Saint Cloud Minnesota. Just up the trail from Willmar one of mark’s favorite hops
Right place, right time! BTW, I went to Ohio Northern, a few hours west of you in Ada. The two track former PRR main was still intact during my years there (1982-85). One track was removed after I left. Amtrak's Broadway Limited ran through Ada. Rode it from Lima to Lancaster Pa and return in Oct 1982.
Okay Matt. I am following up on the idea of making your old CB “Matrix” moniker into your hobo moniker. Get the paint pens. You gotta make it happen; I want to see it on film.
@@melindaroth5796 A flat spot, or wheel flat, also called spalling or shelling, is a fault in railroad wheel shape. I know you meant no disrespect. You made a nice comment and I thought that I would help out by telling you the term that Shoestring used
Railhead shelling is where the rail has completely worn through leaving a an actual hole in both directions of the top of the rail. Not very technical cuz I’m no expert but I thing that’s what shoestring said. It’s a rail defect. Time to replace the rail since it’s serious.
Thanks RR! I always love these random catches when walking around town. They are completely unscripted & give a glimpse of small town American Railroading in 2024.
Nice catch Matt. Shoestring is with you in spirit.
Have a good weekend too 🙂
Matt. Thanks I'll be watching more now
Wow he sure woke up that quiet little spot in there! It’s amazing how they can still get the cars where they need to be!
Love the sound of those engines..Thanks for sharing.

@melindaroth5796, the term Shoestring used was shelling
