Generally speaking, does PAD pain occur most commonly occur and begin in the legs/calves?
Or can PAD pain start from the toes?
Amazing lecture...I just started working as an MA in a vascular and vein center and this lecture really gave me a clear understanding of the disease of the patients I have being seeing in the clinic. thank u for sharing
This was a great lecture! I’ve been looking for the specific contraindication re: CHF for a few days, and the literature I found was not really clear, so glad to hear it’s HF at any level. However, this precludes many patients.

Thank you for taking the time to do this presentation. I was checked once before PAD and at that point I was having discoloration whiteness and coldness in my ankles and feet. But the doctor and the hospital that I was being seen at chose to ignore all the signs and the blood pressure test at the ankles and the arms. And now I have diabetes and heart problems and have had to watch them device put in to my heart. And now the legs are swelling out more both of them and there is more discoloration sometimes from above my ankle down to my toes are just White as white can be and that you're completely cold. And the doctor that I have at this moment won't even think about having the one of the cardiologists that would clean my veins and arteries in my legs do the surgery because due to stress put on me by the doctor and the diabetic dietitian changing my diet for 2 weeks 3 weeks and which made my blood sugars go up even into the 500s which made my A1C a few weeks later go over 11 they won't allow the surgery to be done. And they are threatening me with amputation of one or both of my legs and just discussing whether it's below the knee or above the knee. I'm looking for another doctor.
I have that too . Now Iam doing low carb diet or keto diet. I will see how it goes
Find another doctor. An ultrasound of your aorta and femoral arteries will show how much blockage. Tell them I will sign off knowing risk of surgery before I start letting you hack my limbs off. I will pray for you

I have swelling on my left leg not alote but i do and ankles and feet then switches off the the right ..question is i do get pain on ankles and calves on side of inner leg above ankles only for it to switch to right i do sit for periods of time as i am a Nail technicia/ Manicurist but noticed the swelling for several months inc on legs with preassure i can still walk but once i elecate my feet & legs they do start to hurt .. ..but no im beginning to worry .. I brough this up took several pucture to my primary of my legs and feet just so he can see he literally told me to stop creating deseases i dont have that i need to get my head checked that i suffered from mental health said my leg and feet were not swollen when it was you can tell diffrence he blames everything on Anxiety ..if you ask me i think he is the one that needs his head fixed he is the quack...so after my ultra sound and get results im looking for a new Dr

I hope you tackle quitting smoking . People that smoke have poor wound healing & it’s gasoline put on a fire for hardening the arteries to worsen . Drs won’t do joint replacements, etc or certain operations on patients unless they stop smoking these days . There is medications & patches to help you stop smoking & support groups . I’m so sorry you are in so much pain & smoking is a way to soothe yourself emotionally- but, it’s so important you stop purposely harming yourself more by smoking & help yourself more to create a chance of improving. 💕
What about ppl who have never smoked but they grew up in a household of parents, relatives that smoked. Is the second hand smoke exposure the same as those who smoke?

Im sorry im am a pile of shit of a man it hit me 8 years ago i had a issue of i died in my parking lot at work i was given bronchitis medication it killed me at work while i was having heart attack the doc gave me bronchitis meds sent my heart into a speeding crash i died i was saved after the first difiblitor cough fire the 2nd 3rd batteries died the 4th one saved me ..
*Cause of PAD*
a. Bad luck.
b. Lack of statins
c. Consuming meat, dairy and/or eggs.
You forgot to mention all the soda , juice , fried foods using industrial toxic vegetable/ seed oils , fast foods , white flour , most gluten free flours , white rice , white potatoes , sugar , cheap breads , noodles , French fries, candies , cakes , boxed high carb / sugar cereals , high fructose corn syrup , corn flours , unhealthy factory farmed & nitrate filled animal products etc - and people drinking excessive alcohol & smoking . It’s these modern day habits & poor addictive nutrition choices that has caused this epidemic in health in all regards .

Sorry to hear your story maybe you can get his website and email him praying for you . I have pain also in my legs and feet . I am diabetic I change my diet low or keto diet you can try it lot s of suggestions in UA-cam. Praying for your healing
