I just picked up a pair of these speakers last week. Using it with an Arcam FMJ A19 integrated amplifier with my cheap Sony turntable. Haven’t had a chance to really hear them, but first glance I dig them.

Sounds great! I have the earlier Lsi7s in my home office on a vintage receiver, very smooth, warm and musical. 703s? More of that, even better, enjoy!

man I wish I could afford this exact system right now lol...maybe in near future. I just want to hear really good music instead of my Logitech pc speakers (with sub). it sounds descent but not as good as what I just heard you play on yours. Is there any good deals on this? That's a nice looking and sounding setup. Are you either bi-amping or bi-wiring the speakers?
I’m not bi-amping or bi-wiring these speakers, at this time. If this set was going in a larger room, I’d probably test out bi-amping them but these Polks are literally going to be sitting about 3’ from my head so I think the 150 Watts will be plenty for my needs.
I’ve heard a few people say that they noticed an improvement when they bi-amped their LSiM speakers so I’m definitely not opposed to either bi-amp or bi-wiring speakers.

Yes, these we’re playing full range in the video. My plan it to used them as full range in my office, since I’m not planning an adding a sub.
They have pretty good bass, considering they are “just” bookshelf speakers.

We all have different budgets so I totally understand where you are coming from. I’m not sure what your budget is, and I’m sure you have seen this but Amazon has the cherry 703’s on sale for $399 each. More than I paid obviously but that’s still a great deal.
The good news is that you have a ton of options that are less expensive out there. I just picked up a pair of JBL 530 bookshelf speakers off the JBL website for $299 shipped. Be sure to check those out also.
Where are you located? Also be sure to check out your used marketplaces. Many would be shocked at what people are willing to sell their gear for.

Thanks! These speakers are pretty efficient so you will be able to get by with a receiver, no problem.
With that said, they do sound better with more power so if you want to get the most out of them, save up for a nice 2 channel amp, so you know you are getting the most out of them.

Not too shabby! I can honestly say that I’m excited to go to my office tomorrow morning, to get this all set up. I’m not always this excited for Monday mornings😆
UA-cam can only stream up to about 160kbps. Basically good mp3 quality. All these HD, 24bit, 32bit, DSD whatever playlist on UA-cam are NOT high quality. The fact SO many people think they are just proves most people can't tell the difference regardless of their gear and they have no idea what their doing because they have no point of reference.
I try to bring this up in every video and I completely agree with you. I think showing the speakers playing breaks up me droning on and makes the videos slightly more enjoyable.
The only way for folks to truly tell what they are looking for in speakers, is to go and listen to as many different options as possible.
This channel is really focusing on providing general info for people on a budget and beginners. My impressions are to help people steer in a general direction so they are slightly more educated, when they put out their cold hard cash.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any experience with those Wharfedale speakers so I can’t properly advise you on the two.
With that said, Amazon has the Polk LSiM 703’s on sale for $399 each. At that price, you could test them out and get your money back out of them, once Amazon runs out. That’s probably the route I’d go, but I’m also a bit of a nut-job. Haha
Those Wharfedale speakers do look pretty darn nice also.

@@blazermdx Thanks for the reply. However I just pulled the trigger on a pair of Wharfedale EVO4.2 (Black) / pair of ST-1 speaker stands and a Pangea Audio Vulcan Audio Rack.... I guess I need somewhere to set the stuff. Didn't realize an audio rack was a whole nother subject wow. The city and the turntable are going to have to wait a while. Appreciate all the help.

Yeah, A/V rack options are almost limitless. I made a video of the Monoprice A/V 4 tier rack a while back.

That’s a great question! I use 12 gauge speaker wires, typically, that have banana plugs.
With how much equipment I swap in and out, the banana plugs make it super easy. If you aren’t swapping gear in and out, banana plugs aren’t necessary.
I’m not in the lamp cord or the $2,000 per wire camps at all. But I believe in getting good quality, in line with the quality of your equipment, wires to eliminate any second guesses. These are the ones I’m using currently and they have been great:

Luckily, Emotiva amps don’t get all that hot so you shouldn’t have Amy problems stacking them.
My Marantz receiver and amp, on the other hand get pretty hot so I ordered fans to keep them cool.
If you have room for a decent amount of ventilation, stacking them shouldn’t be a problem.

That was such a tough call that I decided to keep them both:/
But if I had to choose only one, I’d go with the Polk LSiM 703’s. I think they cover the full frequency range a little better and the cabinets are just beautiful.

They were putting out a pretty good amount of bass but I didn’t have it turned up all that loud, ion fear of distorting tje microphone.
