    This is great material! I also like to add that couples in the military live in a sub culture. Where marriage is heavily promoted and especially with people who are away from there families are extremely vulnerable and fall in love rather quickly in a way that it almost seems irrational. I seen this to with “Tech school marriages” and divorces. My advice would be date that person through distance first to see if they can handle that if your going to make the military a long term career. Secondly I find it odd that people do so much to prepare for a wedding and NOTHING to prepare for marriage. Use the recourses the military gives you for premarital counseling. I can’t stress this enough. Everyone should Utilize pre martial counseling because no one breaks up when there in love. Also know that marriage isn’t a fairy tale. Your going to have ups and downs and highs and lows. Lastly please consider the person your going to marry and there prospects. Are they going to stay at home ? Do they have a job that’s versatile enough to find employment with PCS especially overseas location? Are they ok to handle separation/deployments ? I can go on forever but if you want to get married please do your best before you get married not to fail at it . Rant over and please look out for my podcast and this topic

    Martin I agree with you 100% a lot of new military soldiers are trying to get a bigger check and trying to get the other privledges that come with being married off post housing and etc.

    Good sage advice. When I joined the Marines in 88 we started with around 80-85 guys. We ended up at graduation with bout 40. Not all were kicked out, some just needed additional training, failed rifle range, failed swim qual, failed PT, etc.

    Your logic about finding someone you like more as a reason to not be married right before through me for such a loop but then I had a quick reminder that your young and inexperienced so you’re speaking from that perspective so hmm I get you

      @marvicbodie69 4 роки тому

      First off Holiness: your grammar is trash.
      Based off of what I think you were trying to convey in your autistic comment, shouldn’t you ALWAYS find someone you like before you even consider marriage?? Tf?? Also, isn’t everybody inexperienced with marriage or dating initially? I’d question the individual that’s experienced dating/marriage. That’s a whole lot of red flags.
