I know Nikolas loved Emily so much, but Emily didn't allow him to be part of the healing process. She didn't want him to hug her, to hold her, to comfort her, to support her, and to love her, even if it only meant just holding her and comforting her. Not helping her was even more hurtful to him because she saw him as Connor and not Nikolas. I understand Emily not wanting Nikolas to help her because he was her lookalike rapist (another writer's mistake was to allow Nikolas to be the rapist. NL mentioned in a post that it was even more difficult for Tyler and her to film those scenes since she was dating him then. Even though she felt more comfortable with Tyler than bringing a different male character to film the rape scene, there was a recovery period that she and Tyler experienced as actors, where their interactions had to be so soft and gentle). Nikolas didn't mind waiting as long as needed, but he felt left out and was left out of helping her heal. This denial, mostly on Emily's part, prolongs the healing process more than it would have probably taken if he had been included. It became very complicated (though no justification) and eventually pushed him to Courtney and her to Sonny.
@@CamilaYRicardo7the way I see it if you are in love with someone who has been SA your feelings have to be second , not saying the situation is easy but the person needs time to adjust and heal if you truly love and care for said person you would be able to have all the patience in the world for them!!!
@@suzannec8400I completely agree with you. I'm putting this comment on YT as I did on FB (still my comment). Firstly, I was not fond of NICO at all. The writers of GH prioritize scandalous plotlines over portraying healthy relationships, and they don't value fidelity, respect, and the idea of a happy couple. Secondly, instead of allowing Nikolas and Emily to work through their rape storyline and heal together, the writers decided to have Nikolas move on with Courtney. Nikolas lacked the patience and self-control to support Emily's healing in her way, even if it meant taking the necessary steps and time to get to a place where she would feel safe and reconnect with him as they were before. Finally, it's a pity that the writers could not show the true strength and resilience of a couple in the face of adversity. Even though Emily (NL) was killed on GH and Tyler Christopher died in real life, NEM will always be my favorite couple. I miss TC dearly.
@@CamilaYRicardo7 thank you I like GH but honestly I like Days of our lives better in the sense of having a couple being happy. Don’t get me wrong GH has had some great stories since I started watching in 97, NEM were beautiful together and Luke and Laura I enjoy Sonny as well, however like you said they are unable to have a couple be happy unlike Day’s.
this was so sad :(
I LOVE NEM
It's so sad because nikoles just wanted to love Emily but then had a affair with Courtney as nd I want to know why if he loved her so much.
