    Important to note; work done depends directly on time and power. Higher power = more work, and longer ride = more work, always. kJ/hour also is just power with different units. Multiply average power by 3.6 to get kJ/hour

      In many ways, yes. Whether you use the term stamina or durability or fatigue resistance, the key is being able to quantify the hour-by-hour strain and the dropoff in power output. That way, you can design training to create opportunities that extend your range and delay or mitigate that dropoff. For instance, this can mean more carefully adjusting the pacing and energy output of the first 1-3 hours of a ride to set an athlete up for a purposeful final hour.

    Hey, Adam. Question. When it comes to the training aspect for durability, are we not trying to duplicate our best race efforts this way? For instance, if we set out to match or exceed our best three hour kJ output, I would be trying to beat my best three hour race. Same for two hour or six hour "training" rides. Seems like we'd just be trying to beat our previous bests. This seems counterproductive to my mind. Am I missing something here? Thanks for the great information, as always!

    I don't know what it is w/ the younger generations and their need to over research, over label, and over complicate. The more you sweat in training the less you bleed in battle. Unlike what many "experts" recommend if you're serious about being competitive you shouldn't spend most of your time in zone 2. You should progressively spend more and more time in zones 3 & 4, until your 3 becomes your 2 and your 4 becomes your 3. Rinse and repeat.

    Adam , please train your presentation to be faster delivery. You know the stuff but the delivery is sleepy slow and change up the tone avoid a monotonous tone
