Specialists from the logistics units of the “South” group of troops provide soldiers with hot meals every day in the field.
To prepare breakfast on time, the cooks wake up at dawn. The working day only ends after dinner. Ready-made soup sauces, various preparations and kitchen helpers help. They try to diversify the menu whenever possible and try to prepare the dishes themselves “at home”.
The field kitchen is located close to military posts, where ready-made meals are delivered several times a day, including off-road. Hot food for soldiers is as important as ammunition and machine guns. As they say, “war is war, but lunch is on schedule”.
Each cook is provided with different types of portable kitchens, ranging from KP-20 and up. It all depends on the number of portions needed by the fighters.
Chefs working near the front lines receive produce several days in advance. The best gratitude for them is when everything is eaten without leftovers.
