I am from a very remote village from kpk Pakistan. My father used to listen to some selected songs on a tape all the time I MEAN ALL THE TIME. Back then I was too younger to understand Urdu because I could only understand Pashto, the only thing I knew was that the singer is a female. when I was 10 I wanted to listen to all those songs and the first song I heard, in Urdu or Hindi, was HAWA Mein Orta Jaye mora laal dupatta mal mal ka. this voice was so soothing and cozy that I wanted to listen to her more songs. in 2013 my mother bought me a computer when I turned 15. since then I have been listening to her and to 50's and 60's music not only that I sing with didi songs so that I could enjoy the song more. in 2013 I took part in competitions in school and college and got the first position I took part. the ONE I am very proud of was on a district level I prepared so enthusiastically and BOOM got the first position. indeed she is the nightingale of India. I could barely know any other singer in the world than her because I rarely type any other singer name in search bar not because I hate their work but I don't want to switch to a new music era. . Now I want to listen to her all the time as my father used to.

There are countless instances where Kishore Kumar does not “lead” the song, but joins either in the middle or towards the end (in one case, just the last 30 seconds) but it feels like he takes over the song. This song has Lata singing at her “pure” best with all emotions and intensity and is fantastic in all aspects. But there is something totally different when Kishore joins in. He takes it to a different level all together IMO. This was something that both Lata and Asha have acknowledged - about feeling conscious around this amazing singer. One of my favorite songs that bring Lata, Kishore, RD and Gulzar together, feather in their collective cap. A true labor of love and acknowledgment of lost love.

I used to live in Bombay in the 50's 60's 70's and early 80's and used listen to these lilting songs. I am now 69 and I live in Boston and listening to these songs on my computer.Very nostalgic. I have tears in my eyes remembering those olden days in Bombay listening to these beautiful voices of Lata, Mukesh, Kishore,Rafi etc.
