I made this recipe for my Ghanaian husband. He's so shocked I made this. It was delicious! He went on and on about it. He attempted, and I say attemted because he just told me he burnt it. He attempted to make peanut soup twice. And twice I wanted a divorce!! LOL. I couldn't understand, I love peanuts and peanut better. But when my husband cooked it, it's smell would trigger me. He no longer heated up peanut butter in our home. When I made this soup, he asked if I browned the peanut butter. I told him no, and hurried to explain (repeating what you said in this video) that I made sure the peanut butter was cooked through, so that it wouldn't give stomach problems. He was impressed. I kept telling him I found the recipe on UA-cam, but he wants to believe I freestyled the soup. I won't argue with him, more points for me!❤😂

I found this recipe in a book at my school library and chose to make it for my 6th grade project. Everyone in class absolutely loved it and I got an "A+". I'm 43 now and have thought about this soup many times throughout the years but could never remember the recipe nor the book I found it in. Thank you sooo much for this video. I can finally make this soup again and keep this recipe. I'm actually making it right now, bless you sweet friend!

To me, it is just your voice that matters the most. It has such an amazing natural crispy appeal even far more than your fantastic cuisines. Your voice could wow listens if you were into radio/television broadcasting. It is so soft, gentle and soothing to admit. .which is why I often watch your vids.

Thank you sweet AD. Frankly I was only used to curry and white pepper spices for my stews. The only spice that goes into my soup is Maggie cube and nothing else. I have come to appreciate the choice of spices you choose to use and started trying a few out in my stews and they're great. I sometimes get really confused as to which spice to choose over the other. I'll really love it if you can do a video detailing which spices to choose for a particular meal and why the choice. I know it's a lot to ask but ..... watching you from Ghana.

Yummmmmmmy! I always love auntie Adjeley's recipess even thugh I am a vegetarian. As an African North American who loves to cook our homelands foods I love the challenge of making some traditional West African dishes vegetarian style. For this peanut butter soup-which I grew up eating with my Gambian uncles and aunties Mandingo style with fish-I would use hard fried sliced mushrooms seasoned well fried in oil with suya powder and a little dawadawa (soumbala) and cook the soup with some rough cut amaranth greens (efo). God bless and keep yall!!!

I used to make something called tae pei with chicken and veggies and of course peanut butter don't remember how the sauce was made but it was sooooo good. after I quit I would come back to have that dish, I haven't had it in over 20 years. the closest thing I've had was something I had at the noodle company but it was like a cheap knock off.

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I have been trying so hard to find a traditional ground nut soup recipe.
Have you ever made it with beef or goat?

When my Afro American sister said it was the best one I've ever made and the best she's had at home (Mama house) too... I slapped and pat myself on the back after that compliment ...full blooded American 💕 Been eating African food all my life, our entire family loves it

just joined your channel; I am tucked away in the french pacific and I am feeling for our authentic "groundnut soup" with boiled rice so I am going to prepare this! The way this tin has come my tongue top for about a week now so if I don't satisfy my cravings I am going to go crazy. Anyway, I am going to use rabbit meat as my protein source. Cheers.

Please you used the canned grandnut paste but those of us who buy the one they sell in rubber in the market and we pour it in a saucepan stir on till we see oil at the top of the grandnut paste can we decide to stop and do the simple one you did the one you poured water in it and stired it to get the texture you want or is only for the canned grandnut paste. Please I making sense I want to know .Thank you
