if we want to calculate the Turn around Time for this qs what we have to take as complete time and arrival time ?...like for ex-Arrival time of P1 should be 0 or 1?
Would you please tell how much is covered in this playlist.? Like how much percentage of the total syllabus regarding operating system is completed till here?
Only the scheduling delays (delta) are counted as wasted time? If there is an interval of time where CPU is idle (Like in FCFS Solved Problem 1)? Is the idle time considered as wasted time too?
@@rawanbaraji8315 I do no think so, Overhead is wasted time, and time is wasted when a process is available to schedule and CPU is sitting idle. But in case of FCFS, CPU is never sitting idle if a process is available to schdule. if process is not available to schedule and in that case CPU will be idle, that is not wasted time.
Overhead is wasted time, and time is wasted when a process is available to schedule and CPU is sitting idle. But in case of FCFS, CPU is never sitting idle if a process is availble to schdule. if process is not available to schedule and in that case CPU will be idle, that is not wasted time.
Efficiency = useful time/ total time
Turnaround time = completion time - arrival time
Waiting time = Turnaround time - burst time

So much better than what my lecturer teaches. Thank you so much
that time you no need now need that is the different same thing to me when my teacher teaching this concept i felt bore because exam faraway no exam
Thank you very much, this helped me a lot :) Best Academy ever :D
u guys teach simply superb .
Very well explained sir. Please explain deadlock concepts
Keep doing the great work, thanks sir
thnx a bunch! ❤
best explanation.
Clear explanation

40% is complete. Synchronization, deadlock, memory management, file system, secondary storage, io system are remaining.
Very nice. thank you

good question, did you reach to the answer?

what will happen in this , when cpu is idle for some unit of time...then it will delay 1unit of time to process or without delay , process get cpu?
Thankyou sir
Tx❤
Sir plzz tell me book for os...having lots of numerical
Love from Kashmir
What is the cause of the 1 unit overhead ?
powerfull
your very good near to perfict ,but you are repeat the information to much .
much respect and greatfull for you .
Don't worry brother, repeat the things are very important to store the information permanently in our brain
dont we have to calculate tat and wt for this problem?
tell me how i can get the arrive time if the only given is burst time ?
no you cant get
Sir, if we don't have the overhead of 1 unit, then the efficiency of FCFS is 100% ?
Yup brotha
Does the Overhead apply if the CPU is idle?
Overhead is wasted time, and time is wasted when a process is available to schedule and CPU is sitting idle. But in case of FCFS, CPU is never sitting idle if a process is availble to schdule. if process is not available to schedule and in that case CPU will be idle, that is not wasted time.
δ is pronounced delta, thelta
