    Amazing outcome! I love at 3:43 when you lift the hood. All the curves bend the light so perfectly that it's easy to forget that this all started as flat bits of metal

    Dani - Fantastic to see the D type running. Mad props for the period helmet and wind goggles on your test driver!! Also, that plaque is perfect and a great testament to your skills and abilities.

    Amazing job over those 3 years, It's unfortunate that this kind of content is so under appreciated nowadays
    You started this project before I got in college and it really motivates me to try and make my own project in the future, but I'm still on the drawing board.

    Greetings from Wales. Despite your best effort on camera, you failed to look that 'cool' and instead just looked like a pair of excited kids. Not a criticism, you have every right to be super-chuffed and have a massive grins on your faces. You've worked hard and used your considerable skills to make a wonderful car.

    I love how it turned out. Its such a beautiful car. Even though the wheels are correct, I think it would look better with spoke rims and fat takkies. Also, those air filters? I have used the same ones on cars before and after a while they make your car start smoking when it starts, and after a longer while it smokes all the time and uses a lot of oil, you should put different ones 😜

    • @BroughBuilt
      @BroughBuilt  9 місяців тому

    This engine sounds like it's way out of time or running on 5 cylinders. I admit I don't have experience with 1950's Jag straight 6's but this doesn't sound right. But it looks fantastic.

    Congratulations on a fantastic build ! It is truly a work of art.
    A beautiful vehicle of its era but l cant help thinking that the proportions are off , anyone who is of a tall height driving this makes it look toyish. I would like to match its scale to an ac cobra . The head rest should be that ,not a back rest, the windscreen should serve a purpose. The driver needs to be sitting deeper inside the cockpit, All in all my idea would make the jag bigger in all dimensions.
    After all these are custom builds and l applaud you on the finished product.

    Beautiful car! It does look, as you drive out of your garage, that more clearance under the sump is needed. Did these cars use a dry sump?

    • @BroughBuilt
      @BroughBuilt  9 місяців тому

      Thank you. They did have dry sumps but we've decided the only remedy is to cut the sump a few centimeters. We will lose a about a litre of oil capacity but gain the much needed clearance

    While watching, I noticed something that seemed to me to be a little bit of a semi-unfinished look. Would it have been totally inappropriate to use an acorn-style nut for each of the small bolts used to attach the windscreen? This style of nut would have covered the protruding threads and would have provided a more finished look. Although, if used, possibly not in line with an accurate reproduction build. • Just curious. • Really enjoyed your videos!

  • @richardhenry3965

    I don't understand. It looks really good and the detailing and workmanship are impressive. However, it sounds like it's running on (maybe) five cylinders, and that exhaust note is in no way reminiscent of what I heard during Hawthorne's filmed lap of LeMans in 1956 (available on UA-cam). The Jaguar XK-120 derived powerplant had both a distinctive and pleasing note (not easily achieved with a six) and your car is sadly lacking as far as aural charisma is concerned. That's my primary observation, however, it also appears (due to the lack of clearance between the road and the sump) that your car does not have a dry-sump lubrication system. Given the scant clearance at present, I would suggest you (or the customer) think strongly about remedying that. Sorry to be a downer about your car, especially considering what you have put into it, but little things can undo an initial positive impression.

    • @BroughBuilt
      @BroughBuilt  9 місяців тому

      We did unfortunately have a leaky manifold gasket at time of filming that makes the engine sound a bit off. The sump is also being sorted in the mean time.
