Is changing from 550W PSU to 750W PSU damage the Motherboard
No because all voltages stay the same .you only have more capacity to supply the those components ( CPU, fans, Video card ect )with the same voltages ,meaning now .. if your components need more power (amps) you have more to spare when they require it. @@hassangammudi3212
@@hassangammudi3212 No, the motherboard will only use the amount of power that it needs.
You made me feel confident about the psu before I bought it. Thanks for going over the wires!
Glad I could help!
ULTIMATE POWER !!!! So much juice in such a tidy (and smart) looking box. This thing should last forever....will need to find some white carbon wrap ;-) Thanks Mike and Kath.
lol 😂 white wrap is a thing but thing I like the expensive badge on the side
White spiral cable wrap for the fan cables etc to make them match in.
Thanks for the video! just purchased it today, this really really helped!
glad it helped, enjoy your new PSU
There is one thing I like about my ROG psu is the wattage display on the side. This should be implemented on every psu as it is pretty useful to see how much you use when you upgrade. It's a good way to see when you need a more powerful psu
yeah an led or lcd readout is a really nice addition
Problem with that is most cases don’t let you use that. So it would just make the psi more expensive when that feature can’t even be used
Let it snow! Great video thanks Mike
Thanks 👍
Wow so transient spike can draw 2.4Kwatts😲 omg didnt know! Hell i have had electric heater requiring less lol Quality unit and great flexibilty for expensive pc builds. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath 🐈👍
seems unlikely but apparently it is a thing.
That's one pretty looking monster of a PSU! Should last you a good 10 years if you invested in this. Cheers Mike!
it is a beast! at least until Nvidia release the RTX5090 super :-)
I bought one recently, it bricked after 2 days. I wanted to love it.
Sorry to hear that
What about noise ? It’s very important
with the zero fan mode on it is as you would expect silent, when the fan turns on it is audible for me as it is right behind my head and at ear level. most people will never notice it over the other system fans and ambient noises
Great looking supply which should last a few upgrades, the only thing I pick them up on is it should have white connectors too.
yes i see what you mean there
Does it comes with the white cables ?
yes it does
Would you recommend connecting a 3rd individual pcie cable to the graphics card or use the 2 cables and connect the hang ? My graphics power consumption is 300w, I have a msi 6900xt gaming z trio
ideally you three but daisy chaining the hanger works
@@mikesunboxing from what i researched you can’t add a thirst cable because there isn’t another slot for it at the back of their power supplies only enough for 2 cables to the motherboard and 2 for the gpu, what I saw in a tread online that thermaltake posted was that they change the wires to 16awg from 18awg so it can support more wattage to the gpu with just two cables.. so if your tryna use 3 cables I would recommend getting the 1050w version which have a extra slot for the 3rd cable..
Does his throttle make noise? does it whistle under heavy load? Does the power supply whistle when idle?
Thank you !
pretty quiet fan when running and when idle or under 40% load it stops
Is the PCIE Gen5 12+4 pin cable okay to use with my RTX4080? I know the cable can supply up to 600w but the rtx4080 only consumes about 350w I heard? I ordered this PSU and just want to make sure it will be okay to pair with my 4080. Thanks
yes it is fine, and looks great
Hi Mike I hope you're doing well. So you recommend smart fan on or off?
i leave it on, but i like the silence for filming
Hi, I bought this PSU. My motherboard has 2x8 pin cpu connectors (top left of the Mboard). Which ones do I connect on the PSU side, the two on the left in the top and bottom line? Is CPU/PCI-e the same ? Could I just connect the first and second 8 pin on the left top row (CPU/PCI-E)? T.I.A. for helping.
the outputs on the PSU are either or, so can be used to power PCIe or EPS. but the cables are keyed differently so only use cables that say CPUI on the EPS plugs and only PCIe ones on the GPU
@@mikesunboxing thank you, much appreciated !!
They provide 5 CPU/PCI-E cables, but only give 4 spots on the PSU to plug them in. Awesome. And yes, I need all 5 (2 CPU for mobo, 2 PCI-E for my 7800 XT, and 1 PCI-E to power my 60w USBC fast charge).
sorry to hear that, maybe a dual molex to PCIe adapter for the fast charge?
@@mikesunboxingNo need to be sorry, I very much appreciated the review. Not a bad idea on the molex adapter (I do have a few sitting around), but I was trying to keep the build as clean as possible. Thanks again!
"Snow edition" does that mean it is FLAKY! I am here until the weekend.
lol
Just to make sure, will this work with an RTX 3080? Im waiting for the 50 series to upgrade, so want a PSU that will support it, but want to use the 3080 till then.
Yea easily with the connection options on here
@@mikesunboxingThanks!
Over here in Toronto Canada it's on $120 for a turkey disposable income is shrinking fast and I checked the 1200 watt power supply for the hell of it is only 300 I think I'll buy groceries this month...
$120 for a turkey is nuts! Happy thanksgiving to you though
Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your viewers I kid you not take a peek on Google hundred twenty bucks in Toronto for a turkey a small bag of potatoes a 6 bucks a bag of chips is about 3,50 and up depending what you're getting three bags of milk 6 bucks and Cetera just can't wait to see Justin Trudeau go...
@@no1be4me2 Terrible! 😢
I’ve been listening for 4 minutes and i feel like you haven’t told me anything I wanted to hear about the unit itself. Repeating what’s on the box multiple times.
i have to cater for many different types of viewer, can't please everyone.
@@mikesunboxing it’s a good problem to have I assume. I still ended up buying the unit. Thanks!
Doing my first build with i9 14900k and 4090 I’m hoping this PSU will do good for it cause I bought it lmao
it will be fine
hey man i'm thinking about buying this in 2024, you still reccomend?
yeah i still use them, although i have the 1000w
How low do they go with this model. down to 750W ???
Mike's Unboxing, Review & How to is Worthy of a Support comment. Like & a share 🙂
think the 850w is lowest in GF3 range
This or the NZXT C1200?
not seen the NZXT one sorry so can't really comment either way
Need 850w white
should available now i think
@@mikesunboxing with gf3 version?
What? No pink ones? Deal breaker! 😂
maybe next time
If i remember. you do it yourself.
i mean change colour of Pc parts 😀
@@WilliamAPBodie That's true. I'm handy with a paint gun. But I was just joking with Mike.
@@OlettaLiano 😅😂🤣
@@OlettaLiano I'll try to joke with you to now 😀 Stop being so honest when you lie.I could believe it 😛
Cómo se puede ser tan ridículo de no poner ni un cable donde va eso es loq ie quieren ver no que color son los cables ridículo
they are all labelled and specific sizes, you cant put the wrong cable in the wrong port.
