I agree with you big time, Resident Evil 6 was definitely a different approach, the game wasn't all that good, compared what it should have been, it was scary as hell, don't get me wrong, but the game get's a little boring after awhile, for me, I used to have a used copy of Resident Evil 6 for the PS3, but once I got to the near ending of Leon's campaign, I got bored of it. I played an offline arcade match on the game, which the arcade mode was too short and not long enough, and then I got bored of that too, so I sold it to Gamestop. PS, I never played online before, so I only played games that were offline games, but once I got online, it was only for my Xbox 360, other wise, I would have gotten the game on Xbox 360, otherwise, I only got the game on the PS3 only because of the excellent graphics.
What I do like is the approach Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City made, it was like a mixture of the revamp of the Resident Evil movie, and the first, second, and third Resident Evil games, it wasn't actually like the original Resident Evil games, it was more of a action packed zombie shoot em up type game, but the game is equally just as scary as the first three Resident Evil games, but at most of the time, Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City is a lot more scary, it probably is the most scary Resident Evil game Capcom has ever created, because how the game was designed was a lot of the set pieces from the first Resident Evil movie, and then other set pieces from the first Resident Evil games, oh yah, not to mention, when a group of zombies get more hungry, then start to change their skin color to pitch red, and their eyes turn pitch yellow, and then they sprint after you and make these scary animal noises as they chase after you, and also, if a human get's infected, or another one of your players become infected, they will turn into crimson head zombies, and they will sprint after you, and it would happen so fast, you wouldn't even see it coming, and plus the soundtrack is pretty scary, it just makes the game more scary, and more fun to play, because without any scariness coming from the gameplay or the soundtrack, you just have a simplistic zombie shoot em up game without any scariness coming from the gameplay or the soundtrack laying whether you are in the gameplay or in the character menu section.
Hey I thought the series was awesome, they picked a great actress. I own all 5 of the movies in the series and I look forward to the sixth one, the final battle in my opinon and hopefully the fall of the red queen. So no high hopes for that game. Revelations was good tho, definitely considering it was a fkin DS game at 1st lol. you obviously haven't watched the movies, otherwise you would know every movie has a character from the games in it so therefore your point is invalid. While the movies are considered "non-canon", technically since it started as a game that was never supposed to have a sequel, there is no "canon" story to follow, therefore the creators could basically let the story evolve as they went on. While project Alice was never referenced in the games, project nemesis was and her and nemesis were created at the same time. The game creators have considered giving Alice a cameo appearance in the games several times but it was clear from fan feedback that it would be an unwelcome appearance. However, they may or may not have snuck a mention of Alice's real name into the games at some point. The story of Alice was just a way for them to tell the origin story of resident evil and show how things went down from the initial outbreak to the end of the world, since it was so popular (like the games that were continued), they decided to continue the movies as well.

The point is the movies have kept the spirit of Umbrella corporation continuing while being inventive, not goofy. We had a prequel, a game film, a "aftermath" that makes a whole lot more sense than the games "it's ok" aftermaths, no oro-boring, tougher situations, and battles with monsters and human villains. The movies will never touch the goodness of RE1-3 or Veronica, but the rest, forget it, superior even in their weakest moment.

But basically, its about trying to survive and live when biochemical mutations a.k.a. zombies run the earth and try to eat/kill you. but there are also deeper plots like blossoming friendships between survivors. there are traitors and also the corruption of a corporation called umbrella.
Exactly! i think it's been pretty damn clear for a long time that these movies are not about the plot, but about the action. And that's something these movies deliver unlike any other.

I like these films but I kinda hope that they reboot the series down the road, and make actual adaptions of the games.

you know what they should make? a dead space movie! i loved the game, with all its creepiness and gore- they should either make a very awesome live action one, or an entirely CG movie of it!
I think they should keep making kick-ass movies like this. If you got a better conception then make your own saga entitled "Resident Evil", but I will keep paying for the ticket to see these movies, because they are cool and kick-ass.
