Anirudh Ravichander wins Best Music Director at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2024

- While musician Anirudh Ravichander was a well-known composer in South India for over a decade, it was Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Jawan' which got the talented artist National fame. Anirudh's compositions 'Zinda Banda,' 'Chaleya' and 'Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya' have been topping charts ever since they released in 2023.
Anirudh Ravichander was honoured with the Best Music Director at the prestigious, Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024. On accepting the award, the singer spoke about King Khan, who was also present at the ceremony. He said, "Shah Rukh Khan is one of the main reasons I stand here today. He made me one of his own and took me into his fold. He said with Jawan he wanted every Indian to know who Anirudh is." Anirudh further added, "He will be proud of me, thank you Shah Rukh sir."
The 2023 blockbuster action thriller Jawan was not only a box office hit but was also beloved by fans and critics alike. In the film, Shah Rukh Khan’s double role and power-packed performance meet Atlee’s cinematic brilliance to create a superbly entertaining masterpiece. Jawan handles the topic of women’s empowerment with a refreshing, revolutionary angle.
Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 was the glorious culmination of creative endeavours with Cinematic Evolution as the theme. With musical performances by Javed Ali, Sukhwinder and Nikhita Gandhi, the evening celebrated the grand history and legacy of entertainment in India. The most brilliant minds of the industry and their projects over the past year were felicitated on a grand scale. The distinguished list of recipients also includes eminent figures such as Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Moushumi Chatterjee, Nayanthara, Shahid Kapoor, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sandeep Reddy Vanga amongst many others.
