It is a big issue sir, honest students with limited means are suffering. Do not give pass to the govt, it is their responsibility. They have to crack down on this corrupt practice.
Govt has been very very laid back on this issue, that is why opposition got chance . Why didn’t they said on first day that investigation team has been made??
Govt. needs to be on the front foot. They need to go after every politician running a medical college. They need to have alumni come forward and declare illegal capitation fee paid and recover that from these politicians by seizing their assets and giving it back to the students. Then these A$$ orifices will stop this nonsense.

Despite knowing the shortfall of our education system, successive governments have done nothing to address the issues on hand. Lakhs will keep being paid by parents to coach their kids...our education system is below par

It is not that congress didn’t have highly educated people in the party. There were lots of them but they were all crooks. And a highly educated crook is even more dangerous as he can dupe you in even more innovative ways.

I have been to world’s top Universities, have 6 degrees but no where my education taught me patriotism or goodness.
It is my dad who taught me and the books I read written by Swami Vivekananda or the man I idolise Shaheed Bhagat Singh who did this.
RSS shakhas do it for all the Sangh goers everyday. Hence people like Modi are so patriotic and honest. I don’t care if he went to school or he has MA or not.
I am 92. I did my PhD in USA in Bio chemistry and Food Science from 1952 to 1977 from Univ of California.
Came back into my family business in Food Processing. I was in all Government Committees pertaining to my Industry. Finally gave up after 15 years and back in USA. I have seen everything first hand. Not very pleasant and palatable.

Common people dont understand who is RMP and his knowledge. Once you give licence RMP. s are not going to practice in villeges. They will go to towns and cities to start the same currupt practices.
Even if we have number of medical colleges, no one is talkung about quality of teachers, majority of whom are from reserved catagory. Thats wht students prefer private medical colleges at least to gain good teaching.
But crores of fees make them start thinking of only earning money from day 1 of practice.

Mr. Sumit ji, your idea of opening more medical colleges to bridge the demand supply gap, is not feasible. Many engineering colleges were opened on those lines. But the students are not paying the fees including mess charges, and demanding clearance to sit for exams and to give their degrees.This is happening even in the Universities. So who will bell the cat.

In tn for a medical seat, a student who scored 465 in neet and 565 in 12th, the pvt college asked 35 laks and 50 lak per year. Now u know why the politicians are against Neet.

Criticslly the congress and DMK government brought this system. DMK minister signed this Neet implementation.
DMK would give India alliance the idea that the best way to mint money to win next election is to have private colleges, sell the seats in lacs and corers to people.
Post independence, congis never bothered to open new medical colleges for better health facilities. They were busy in minting money and secondly many illiterate politicians never realized the importance of education and improvisation of health facilities. As the population was increasing, steps were not taken to add institutions.
Now exams like neet are based on multiple choice answering systems which are not truly evaluating a student. They need to give descriptive answers such that it will reflect the real intelligence of the student.
But for paper leaks just passing on blame from one to other they are doing severe dent to the entire system and finally the deserving real candidate is losing faith in entire system.
Its time, govt should take very strict measures and punish the culprits severely then only we get real intelligent students for such professional courses.
If 24 L students want to join MBBS, it is better to start Diploma in medicine, LMP course as it was in olden days. There is no need for MBBS for general practice.

I was a student of KMC MANIPAL. V had to face preexamination conducted by the college. To my surprise, same questions was given at UNIVERSITY LEVEL that was in the year 1968.
Sirs, I read West Indies has medical colleges in sheds with no hospital attached and are supplying doctors to USA. This process,if studied, can reduce cost of setting up a medical college at a cost, next to nothing. Next, Shri Rahul Bajaj,has built his R&D with Engineers from tier 2,3 towns and today, it's the largest motor Cycles Manufacturer in the world.

Sumeetji ! Medical seats are not like ba, bcom, bsc or be seats ! You just can't increase them like that ! Every seat needs a solid backing of infra like a hospital and faculty ! After 2014, even the seats increased by Modi's govt are now having a faculty problem and the quality of new doctors is less than those of pre 2014 !

Thle idea of'ABCD ....sets of question papers is not a new thing in India . This has been followed by NIBM, SBI, IBPS etc for more than 5 decades. So Mr.Iyer don't take credit for things which are not your original.
Every city India needs to have Community College/Trade school in which kids can study part-time and go to school part-time so they can pay for their school.
Would not agree on a few points; in most of the board exams students tend to mug up and get a good percentage but with MCQ you need to have a broader knowledge of the subject and negative marks ensure you just don't do a wild goal. It's not the number of seats that are important here just check on the number of general category candidates who get a seat they are the ones who are ending up in medical colleges in Uzbekistan,Pakistan etc .
Also what is unique about Indian medical education?? Align the syllabus and have the students complete USMLE at the end of the course or some such standard that they can practice world wide. Also increase the ope seat capacity to 20x. This will make Indian doctors world class and get us doctors who can work across boundaries.
Our doctors are world class. I am saying this because in US Indian doctors have got a very good reputation and every hospital has a bunch of Indian educated doctors.

I am asking that there be alignment from get go so that after 5 years of MBBS and some mandatory interning / service in India that be allowed to practice globally. Now that post pandemic world has seen remote appointments, they can earn in $$ , €€, ££ etc right from India and give back to our local residents and to the country.

NEET is avoidable. It's quite unnecessary. Every premiere medical college like AIIMS can have its exam. At state level they will have their tests. One all India exam is a foolish idea.
How do I ask questions?
Can the Central Government attach a medical college to all the hospitals which are operating in almost all the PSU townshipe in Steel Plants, NTPC, IOL, NALCO, BHEL etc etc. Buildings for Medical Collages can be constructed in 6 months. Curriculum & Professors can be implemented & appointed

Ask the effin’ companies the curriculum needed in arts and sciences degrees to be able to hire people. Force the colleges to change curriculum or close down. Then if companies don’t hire across graduates, then fine the companies and use the funds to develop. the education system. Only then people will not die for failure in entrance exams and get old applying for jobs.

unlike engineering where colleges and actual workplace have no connection, a medical college is directly connected to Medical Hospitals which are the same places where medical students will be working in future.
all what is really needed for a good medical college is two factors --> enough teachers ( ie doctors) which are available in India and enough patients for the students to study on, even patients are in plentiful in India.
even an ordinary building near a medical hospital can be converted into a medical college as long as it is spacious, has enough qualified doctors in the hospital roll and patients will always come when there are doctors available.
So, dearth of medical seats is only to increase capital seat prices which in turn make the medical college owners richer. is it any co-incidences that most private medical colleges are built by politicians ????

This is an old plan that America has kept boiling for decades. Military age men enter places like Nagaland, Mizoram and Manipur today as "youtubers" and ask openly if the locals want to remain in India. The only solution is for India, Myanmar a Bangladesh to fight this together with out-of-the-box thinking. One idea is for Myanmar to cede its Christian dominated north to India with the Indian military establishing large land, sea and air bases there. Then flood the new areas with uprooted illegal Rohingyas from India. Not only would it relieve the pressure on the Myanmar govt which anyway has lost hold of the area but it would also give the Northeast access to the Bay of Bengal. It might even suit China as the last thing it wants is an American armed Christian country aimed at its belly.

I think many of the ideas presented by Sumit ji and sree ji won't work for sure. I don't know if Sumit ji is aware or not, SAT, GRE can be taken at home now, and there are a lot of agencies which help in cheating in these exams. SAT is outright stupid. MCQs may not be a perfect exam but you are supposed to evaluate them based on the science knowledge they have and not just Mental Aptitude or to do some bull shit calculation which a computer can do faster than you. MCQs are a good way because there's no way you can conduct descriptive type papers for 2.4M people although descriptive type paper is the best way to evaluate the student's thought process. And about mushrooming of engineering colleges. Oh dear god. They are the worst. They teach absolutely nothing. It's basically paid degree. It's still fine to have thousands of engineering colleges because people's lives are not directly involved. But imagine some dumbfuck medical College handing over degrees, you are endangering people's lives. So these suggestions are meaningless. We need quality of education and not quantity. The main reason people want to pursue medicine because "it has scope", it's a money making way. Not because people are passionate about medicine or want to serve people.
