  • A Step by Step Guide to Use Ceramic Ring Bio-Media in Aquarium Filtration . Ceramic ring bio-media is considered an all-rounder bio media. The main advantage of ceramic ring bio-media compared to other popular aquarium bio-media is that ceramic ring bio-media can hold both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Ceramic ring bio medias are more cost-effective than other well-performing bio-media that are popular in the aquarium industry, making it a great budget-friendly option for maintaining a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria in the aquarium. As a result of the low cost it is mostly the preferred choice for new fish keepers are experienced fish keepers who want to use in large quantity .Ceramic ring bio-media can help to break down waste products and keep the water clean and clear, making it a versatile and efficient option for aquarium filtration.
    When using ceramic ring bio-media or any other type of bio-media in an aquarium, it's important to keep the media clean and free of clogs from biowaste. To achieve optimal results, it's important to first set up a proper mechanical filter for the aquarium, which removes the majority of the biowaste from the water. Then, the filtered water should be passed through the bio-media chamber so that the aerobic and anaerobic bacteria can complete the nitrogen cycle efficiently. This approach helps to prolong the life of the bio-media and avoid the need for frequent replacements. It's also important to do regular maintenance like cleaning the bio-media to ensure the filter is functioning at its best.

      If possible give away the convict Cichlids.they are bit aggressive.and more over they are central america.i recommend you to Go with peacock cichilds .
      Reason. They are less aggressive comparing to mbuna
      Intially they don't get any color but once they grow they will color up .in my tank I am keeping peacock

    Matrix and ceramic rings can be used as for time or else like carbon we have replace sir

    • @KeralaCichlids
      @KeralaCichlids  3 роки тому

      Technical we don't need to replace but the thing is we need to make sure that the BioMedi is not getting clogged if the media get clogged it is of no use. That's why in fish farms they are adapting moving bed biomedia that can clean by itself.are you doing fish farm or just aquarium

    Hi, Iam using matrix in my hang on filter. Also bought ceramic ring today can use it with them. Or can I use only matrix?

    • @KeralaCichlids
      @KeralaCichlids  3 роки тому +1

      Both are bio media so you can use both . Matrix is more good because it can hold both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.so try not to remove matrix to make some space for ceramic rings'

    • @KeralaCichlids

      I recommend using lava Rock , air stones are expensive I believe. Any surface with porus holes yes they can hold aerobic and anaerobic bacteria for sure. But when it comes to money I believe ceramic rings'or lava Rock are budget friendly in bulk

      All of the food you are planning is good but all of this food can affect the water quality aswell so while feeding need to give extra care or the food you are planning can break down and make the water cloudy and trigger ammonia spike in the tank. Feeding proper amount of food is the experience in fish keeping.but the food you selected are all good.
