Or on the whole planet for that matter.
@@nominou6 the whole planet, for sure, certainly based on the experience of billions.
Remember how the US funded and supplied arms to the mujahideen which then became the Taliban and so on and so forth. 😂
@@Brink.9 Remember how the US was in a hot "Cold-War" with the Soviet Union who were seeking a warm water port through Afghanistan? So on and so forth.
The rebels hit them with that German blitzkrieg tactic.
Does this London School guy really believe liberalism is going to prevail here?? Come on, dude why are you being naive
So sad for Syria. No peace in the past, no peace will come, violence begetting violence.
Islam!!
Most accurate description I've seen in any comment so far regarding this situation.
God bless Syria hope all goes well from now on.
I am amarican Syrian happy to see this day thank you wish us luck
an amarican, great... you wanna return soon too? :-)
Lightning speed just like in Afghanistan but in reverse where democracy wins over...
God Bless you all Syria Country have Peaceful ,life. Democrasy.freedom, Love, Unity. 🙏🙏🙏
Many Iraqis were celebrating in the streets after Saddam was removed. How did that turn out exactly?
GOD thank you for removing from darkness to light
If light is radical islamists i will be floored
This guy is very hopeful. I'm not sure I would have the same trust in a bunch of islamists who have waged war for the last 13 years/
Remember when the Taliban were considered freedom fighters? 🤔
Yes. That was when they were fighting Russians.
Populations subjugated by mass (and today better yet, social) medias have their minds and emotions openly available.
I was still a high school kid when that Civil war started. I’m a week shy of 31 now. It’s hard to believe.
After so many years of suffering, I sincerely hope for a peaceful transition of power for Syria. ❤
Happy birthday?
“I hope and wish that Syria can show the world its resilience by finding peace after the brutal Assad regime. May opposing groups come together to rebuild the nation, demonstrating unity and strength in the face of past hardships.
Don't be dulsional thinking that Syria is now going to transform into a democratic society. There is not a single arab country that operates under democracy. If Afghanistan couldn't become a democracy after 20 years, it should show how strong religion plays a role in these states.
I am afraid you're right. But: Syria was always, like forever, better and more progressive country then Afghanistan. Syria was secular before this bashar al assad dictator. Syria had universities (for everybody) and didn't opress women. There is no comparison between tribal ruled Afghanistan and country like Syria.
They celebrated like this after Saddam and Gadafi. Look at them now
A new era in Syria has begun.
This reminds me of the scene from Jurassic Park where jeff goldblum says: "Ooh, ah, that's how it always starts. But then later there's running and screaming"
No Russia, no win.
*reminding us of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka where the leader of government have fled. Hopefully there will be a new leader soon and a peaceful transition of power for Syria (Golan).*
"For all Syrians, of all religions" - Well, here's hoping! Think positively, prepare for the worst.
Who does DW think they are kidding. Syria is like a big bar fight right now. A lot of people are fighting, no one knows why or who they are even fighting. At the end the most brutal, strongest fighter will still be standing.
Ghazi!!! You're a role model brother!!! 4:58 thank you for your service and sacrifice. People do not understand the gift that you're giving to the country. But as a leader in America, I do. Much love and blessings brother.
We saw it in Irag, Lybia, Afganistan, Haiti..only chaos will follow
Syria is not Libya Iraq Afghanistan Haiti
@@suleyman8696 gonna be worst.
@suleyman8696 there is a common denominator...where there is US influence in regime change you are bound to get similar results..watch and learn..
So this is a good thing for the people of Syria?
"I need a plane ticket....not the ammo"
Bashar Al-Assad, 2024
He should be supported and helped to establish what he’s offering.❤
I wish nothing but the best for the entire country and all its people.
Peace be with you all and may god bless you all❤🇨🇦
The West supported for some 13 years all kinds of mercenary groups terrorizing families and villages in Syria and now we feel oh-so-good wishing them peace.
*_I am happy to hear the name Kurds since before 15 years ago the word was virtually censored_*
Libya 2.0
Russia is much weaker now, that's a big mark in Syria's favor
Who has financed and armed the rebels??
SAME THING WHEN THEY OUSTED GHADAFI, THEY CELEBRATED HIS FALL BUT HAVE NEVER BEEN IN PEACE SINCE.
The biggest problem with this.... is who will take place as their leader as there are many factions vying for that title.
God ist good.......choice a good en Kind Hearted President..
@NetskyBriones what?
Now the governing of Syria is whats at stake.
55 minutes ago : "Israeli airstrikes hit military facilities in Damascus" - Sky News
Now we can look forward to a new Government with fair, honest elections and leadership for the people 🙄.
Funniest comment so far.
Great, now people can finally return to their home!
Congratulations to the Syrians from Pakistan🇵🇰.
Plz change your flag🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
Why change the flag?
The rebels are been backed by usa and israel, i dont find it be trustable
Why?????
Bravo Syria 🇸🇾 I love you guys, GOD bless you
Ya HTS aren't the good guys you think they are.
Remember Afghanistan in the 70s was modern and slightly secular. But then islamists took over. Does that sound familiar?
Don’t let religion take the states. Lessons from Iran/iraq/afghanistan.
The SDF aren't just Kurds, they are an alliance of Kurds, Assyrians, Arabs, and other minorities that formed an autonomous state in northern Syria. I doubt they will just roll over and except a new government after what they built over the past decade.
The kurds had an agreement with Assad and will have an agreement with his successors. The HTS leader said he works for a syria of the regions with weak central government. We will see. I fear the turkish proxy will attack the kurds. But for the rest i see some hope.
None of the surrounding countries wants a kurdish state. They don't want peace they only want a country and do every filthiness to achieve it. Unless the west doesn't retreat the region like Russia and Iran this bloody fight will go on.
I can tell from the talk of this man that he support Israel
Israel just destroyed assads army
Why is it that we're calling them rebels this year?
Last year they were Al-Qaeda 🤨
I'm no fan of sadam but at least he didn't run away.
