When i left highschool and went to college i had ideas for games that we are seeing now. Its nice to see that my ideas arent unique. An idea i had for a DC shooter was a game that focused on villians at first with heroes being added down the line. DC villians using guns and killing eachother with other skills and weapons doesnt have to be explained to the gamer. Villians backstab eachother all the time.
Here's a novel idea: instead of a DC copy of Marvel Rivals, why not do a single player game for the Justice League itself? THAT would be something I could get behind, especially if they did something like the Justice League Vs. The Injustice League or Vs. The Legion of Doom. Heck, if DC is intent on "copying", they could use similar gaming formulas from the old Xmen: Legends games. I'd play something like that from DC. Just sayin'.
I had an idea for something similar to rivals even though it didn't exist at the time. Green lantern would benefit from a game like this. Characters from different factions and their abilities are constructs and a main mechanic would be the ability to not only create constructs but add things to the map like ramps walls and structures dramatically changing the maps per game.
If WB do this. I have feeling it will only be arkham universe. They probably add some easter egg of some DC super heroes/villains. But all of the main characters will be in batman/arkham series. Rocksteady will probably do it and it will get a review bomb again.
“Hah! Marvel ripped off Overwatch before DC ripped off Overwatch!” Yah see! It doesn’t really mean anything because Rivals isn’t original. Heck… Overwatch wasn’t terribly original either.
@@thathero5953i think the big difference would be that rivals didn’t feel like it was trying to jump on OWs hype train since the game came out like 8 years ago at this point. But if DC announced a Rivals like game so soon it feels like it’s trying to ride its coattails
@@kaijuwarrior8917 And…? Marvel and DC copy each other all the time. That’s like saying Marvel shouldn’t have attempted live action films because DC beat them to the punch with Superman: The Movie. Why do people like Rivals? Innovative gameplay? No. A perfectly balanced roster? Definitely not. It’s because it’s a competently made hero shooter where the selling point happens to be Marvel (drawing in Marvel loyalists who aren’t interested in shooters). Marvel Rivals isn’t some golden goose of the gaming industry. It’s a fad that will inevitably be replaced by the next big, shiny hero shooter. Just like Overwatch.
How it works Batman throws batarangs and flashbang smoke shock grenades Superman shoots heat vision and blows frost breath Wonder woman throws lasso and tara sorry if I spelled that wrong and shoots lightning The flash throws lightning and creates tornadoes Green lantern shoots greens beams and creates guns missiles energy cannons Aquaman throws trident and lightning and water Cyborg shoots white noise cannon lasers Green arrow shoots trick arrows Firestorm shoots fire and create nuclear blasts
Smite has roman god Mercury they can make him something like that and give flash time dilation in his ult where he runs super fast and everything around him becomes slow and he can just punch them all for ez kills 😂😅 😏 time dilation is oloron ult from smite where the animation of the enemy gods become super slow
1) Marvel and DC are unquestionably the biggest names in the superhero genre. They’ll always inevitably be compared. 2) Rivals isn’t terribly original either. Heck, it’s not even the first blatant Overwatch clone. 3) Marvel fans want to have a fighting game like injustice. A good idea is a good idea and if people want to see your take on it, do it. 4) They’ve already done something similar. DCUO has a mode where you can take control of your favorite heroes and villains in team based combat.
i would prefer there be a throwback to the 4 player coop games like a Justice League Heroes remake with an expanded roster and more maps/villains etc. i don't think dc heroes should be in hero shooters unless there is genuinely something new added to the genre so it's not impossible. also DCUO definitely needs a remake or redo but that's only my opinion
The nostalgia for fan favorite characters is definitely there. I think even with the similarities in some characters it might work out if they could come up with some contract to start introducing dc characters in the game. It is called Marvel Rivals so that wouldn’t make to much sense unless they were “Marvels rivals” but that’s a stretch
They have to get it right and their has to be something unique. Marvel has team ups, destructible environments, and ultra that result in interesting team combos without the team up mechanic. If it doesn't it'll just die over time.
To answer your question of the day in my own way. I think DC's best shot at a Marvel Rivals competitor would have S.S.K.J.L. they had the assets they just needed to rework the existing system.
@maravreloaded fair enough, but if they were to support the game they couldn't possibly do worst than the first chapter of content. According to the scraped leaks Killer Croc and Kitana was on the way.
The mcu worked becasue they knew how to ground it, and importally had good villains Iron monger was great, but it fit, and Redskull and loki are good. Most of this stuff forgets to make memorable villains, or they make unforgeable bad villains. The first suicide squad had both.
I would love DC Rivals. I'd play both. Being able to enjoy superheroes without preachy bullshit like they got in the movies and comics takes me back to the good old days when I could just enjoy this shit without worrying about irl California politics
I think DC should honestly go the ARPG route if anything. Unlock new heroes and villains, fight through time and defeat Brainiac. You cannot tell me that a Diablo style ARPG with a DC skin wouldn’t be PEAK!
Yes. Honestly, just bring DC Comics characters into Rivals for a crossover DLC. And then do a spinoff game afterwards. There is nothing stopping NetEase Games from requesting a licensing agreement with DC Studios. I’m sure Marvel Games would love more cash. DC vs Marvel would be epic!
Personally i think that if they had made a game like this, a better role division would be Melee, ranged and support, that way we remove the least played role in hero shooters, tanks, that isnt to say there would be tankish characters, but rather that they would be fewer and far between and wouldnt actually be their own class, leaving more space for the role that most people actually play, that being DPS (melee and ranged). Each character would also come with a passive, a primary attack, a secondary attack (M2), an E and Q ability and an Ultimate. That being said, i have already thought of a kit for Batman: his primary would be his fists and his passive would allow him to double jump and to glide with shift. his M2 would be his batarangs which would come with 3 charges that regenerate passively, pressing once consumes one charge and throws a barrage of batarangs, while holding down consumes 2 charges and throws an explosive batarang, throwing the latter mid air allows you to hover for better precision. His Q would be an uppercut and his E a grappling hook that can used on walls or enemies to do damage. And for his Ultimate, an explosive batarang that has knockback and after being thrown empowers Batman for 8s giving him extra damage. This kit is mainly based off Sword, a character from another hero shooter called phighting. Superman would fit in the melee class and would be one of the few tank characters in the game, meaning he´d have higher health at the cost of his speed. His primary would be fists and his passive would be called "Solar energy", this would be a meter that charges up when doing or taking damage, When charged, press R to power up your next ability. M2 would be a quick burst of heat vision that if held down can he charged for higher damage and range whilst allowing him to hover if used in mid-air, when empowered it reveals enemy locations for 8s when charging the heat vision (x-ray). With his Q, Superman launches forward and vertically into the air, doing AOE damage in the takeoff and landing, when empowered Superman recovers health after activating the ability (Solar recharge). His E releases a gust of cold air in a small radius in front of him, slowing down any enemy hit by it, when empowered allies near Superman gain a damage boost (Hope). For his Ultimate, that being the F key, Superman launches into the air and slams in the direction of the cursor doing AOE damage (think like Thor´s ultimate), this ability instantly charges his solar meter. As for Martian Manhunter, he´d be a low hp support focused on debuffing the enemy whilst providing windows of opportunity for his team. His primary would be his punches, landing his primary charges a meter that once full changes his primary for his heat vision until his meter is emptied. His passive allows him to recover health passively twice as fast as other characters, meaning that while the rest of the cast has to be off battle for 5s for their health to begin to recover Martian manhunter only has to be off for 3s. This makes him comic accuarte as fire or poision effects are extremely effective against this character since they deny him his fast healing. His M2 would be a Phsychic projectile that makes it so enemies hit take more damage from your team´s attacks. His Q launches him into a grappled target who he then pucnches knocking them back, this attack instantly gives him his heat vision. His E allows him to turn invisible for 4s. And his Ultimate entangles any enemies near his radius similar to Groot´s Ultimate.
A DC rivals game would be cool but in my opinion I think we need more DC games that are about other DC Superheros who are NOT Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, Teen Titans etc, Batman's had his time to shine and just because he's the money maker does not mean everything DC related always has to revolve around him, Unlike DC with their characters Marvel has actually proven that they can make successful products that are about other Marvel characters and not only rely on Spider-Man
Who proved? Online shooter game which include Spiderman as well? Or The Avengers game? Or GOTG game which was a failure in term of sells and money? SM is the only game right now, that is carrying Marvel Games. Let's that Wolverine and Capitan America games will do.
Nobody would buy it. Ppl like popular and recognizable characters. Look at star wars hunters, nobody wants to play it. If a DC rivals came out and ppl couldn't play Batman, superman etc then ppl would be very disappointed.
DC Champions would be a great name for the game! It could be live service and sell characters, weapons and skins and stuff! ...And people who like the Arkham series could make off line single player games as well!😎
I honestly really hope DC focuses more on single players and storylines and mechanics. There are a lot og stories to explore and even if a "flash" game or "superman" game is hard to pullbof, there are still a lot of options and they could even do a soulslike version in the future. IMO DCUO was a great idea and if they revamp that game or make a new one with a new engine then an MMO would work much better for DC.
If they did, they might get accused of apping Marvel like they did with the DCEU, so I don't think they could make a hero shooter but maybe they could do a different type of game with a similar theme.
This is what i would like in a potential DC Rivals roster -Batman -Superman -Wonder Woman -The Flash -Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner since he is the one who as the most imagination) -Martian Manhunter -Cyborg -Hawk Girl -Aquaman -Blue Beetle -Red Hood -Robin (Tim Drake or Damian Wayne) -Nightwing -Raven -Beast Boy -Starfire -Green Arrow -Dr Fate -Plastic Man -Mister Terrific -Metamorpho -Deadshot -Death Stroke -Joker -Lex Luthor -Black Manta -Harley Quinn That is a total of 27 characters I thought of and 33 characters in Marvel Rivals I would like to see what everyone else would like to put in
I would prefer they just do a new dc universe online type game. Tge old game is really showing its age and I don’t have a ridiculous amount of cash sunk into it so im good to move on. Nothing will ever compare to that intro but still they can try.
Given that WB games has recently stated going forward they're only going to make Batman, MK, GoT, and Harry Potter games the "could they?" is just an empty hypothetical. However, yes, they could, technically. The issue I have is everyone I've seen suggesting this DC hero-shooter concept seems to be just identifying a DC equivalent to a character in Marvel Rivals to make an almost reskin of that game. *That* would be boring, an Andy Warhol-esque copy of a copy.
They will have to do something with Superman. I dont want to see Kryptonite everywhere in the map. I also dont want to see Superman have only 30% more health than Batman
Short answer is yes but since WB is in charge it won't happen and if it did it would suck either due to poor balance or awful monetization (I'm using Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Multiverses, and Suicide Squad for reference)
If dc wants to do something like marvel rivals but not copy marvel rivals exactly, than they can opt for something that I like to call a "hero battle royale". Basically a battle royale game like apex or my hero ultra rumble. A battle royale game where every character has unique abilities and stats. Hell you could make it even more unique than other hero based battle royales by introducing team up abilities and even make the squads 7 players so you can have the whole justice league on one squad if you want too.
NRS should stop making DC games. Ever since they gave that troon 16bit more power in their QC balance and design their games have gone downhill so fast.
Well I will say coming from play through some Marvel Rivals goodness to be honest I would like to see a DC version of this game close enough down the line but definitely not now giving DC got a lot of do in the gaming sides first and along with turn thing around before see something like this happen straight up just my thought
I've been wishing for a marvel and dc hero shooter ever since overwatch came out. A dc hero shooter would be awesome and I also think a platform-style brawler like Smash would be cool too.
If DC made a good hero shooter and it was fun and relatively unique, people would love it and play both games. There's a shortage of good multi-player games.
WB would probably skewer any chance of that game succeeding. I'm just hoping the Wonder Woman game can get off the ground but the setbacks don't give me much hope. Maybe Injustice 3 should be their next step.
I'm done hoping for WB to do something. Monolith as it has barely done anything for wonderwoman as it is. DC should just do it's own thing at this point.
in my opinion instead of DC making their own battle royal shooter they should complete the Wonder Woman game they announced and focus on making The Flash,Superman or Aquaman games first but if WBD really want's to compete with Marvel Rivals they should make Warner Brothers Rivals not just DC but also including a roster with characters from Looney Toons,Cartoon Network,HBO shows,Harry Potter etc.
Well if there was a PVE/ PVP, open world where you can roam around and queue up to have team fights, yeah it’s possible. It’s called DC Universe Online!!! There was a versus mode where you picked the established moves superhero! But a lot of fans quit that game because of monetization. I think all games will turn to shit with pay to win over time. MR is not immune to this.
Hear me out: instead of this, marvel rivals does crossovers with past ip that had crossover with marvel. Then eventually with their dc crossover they could rebrand to Marvel/dc rivals or something like that
Not the same thing at all. For once, it's not exclusively dc, so if dc is the only thing you care about when it comes to warner brothers, than your better off just playing something like injustice instead. And 2. multiversus is a fightning game which already has a niche, and it's a platform fighter, which is a niche subgenre of a fightning game.
no because, it would be made by a western developer in warner bros and the characters won't be nearly as appealing. and it will be filled with nonsense that plagues western games.
They should just make squad free and work towards that. FreeLC with access to unlockables along the way could beat rivals if done right. I'd also settle for them just starting ground up.

Marvel vs DC Rivals sounds like a cool premise. I’d love to see Superman take on Iron Man while Gorilla Grodd goes ape against the Hulk
If DC makes a hero shooter overwatch is really cooked
Think of what people will do with those models, Batman!
Unlikely
nah first they´d need to make it perfect (wb has horrible track record as of late to mess up) and even then it´ll be too late since marvel already took the spot. They should´ve done it first
They won't. If they keep pushing "The Daugher of Starfire" and "Farty Quinn"
@@maravreloaded That Starfire book was 3 years ago and not canon and you mfs are still seething over it. Better be thankful for the fart joke since it finally gives you something else to moan about.
I think the Gotham imposters sequel would be a great fit for todays gaming
It would be a good idea but knowing WB they would mess it up like they did with Multiversus and Suicide Squad.
@lordcheesus1013 Well Justice League Heroes is closer to "X Men Legends or Marvel Ultimate Alliance from DC"
if DC somehow made a game as good as marvel rivals and different enough to not feel like a reskin, i would 100% main green lantern and superman
All they’d really have to do is ditch the anime aesthetic
bruh but rivals is reskin of overwatch tho so let dc do it too.
Too bas Superman can't be downed in a hero shooter, he's too OP
@@carnagerulez312
Hulk, Thor, and Doctor Strange are in rivals
@@thathero5953Most people like it and it’s not anime it’s a comic aesthetic
I had an idea for something similar to rivals even though it didn't exist at the time. Green lantern would benefit from a game like this. Characters from different factions and their abilities are constructs and a main mechanic would be the ability to not only create constructs but add things to the map like ramps walls and structures dramatically changing the maps per game.
Depends on who’s on like the entire bat family and some of the villains like bane firefly I kinda see joker in it just depends on his abilities
You mean the failure Gotham Knights?
I think a reboot of dc universe online with the style of marvel rivals or overwatch or like the arkham origins online mode could work very well
I would love this, I’m having a blast with rivals so a dc one would go hard but done right of course
If WB do this.
I have feeling it will only be arkham universe.
They probably add some easter egg of some DC super heroes/villains.
But all of the main characters will be in batman/arkham series.
Rocksteady will probably do it and it will get a review bomb again.
All I know is that a certain part of the internet would be annoying about it because marvel did it first.
“Hah! Marvel ripped off Overwatch before DC ripped off Overwatch!”
Yah see!
@@kaijuwarrior8917
And…?
How it works
Batman throws batarangs and flashbang smoke shock grenades
Superman shoots heat vision and blows frost breath
Wonder woman throws lasso and tara sorry if I spelled that wrong and shoots lightning
The flash throws lightning and creates tornadoes
Green lantern shoots greens beams and creates guns missiles energy cannons
Aquaman throws trident and lightning and water
Cyborg shoots white noise cannon lasers
Green arrow shoots trick arrows
Firestorm shoots fire and create nuclear blasts
Smite has roman god Mercury they can make him something like that and give flash time dilation in his ult where he runs super fast and everything around him becomes slow and he can just punch them all for ez kills 😂😅 😏 time dilation is oloron ult from smite where the animation of the enemy gods become super slow
@johndrippergaming cool
I want a DC game that’s similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance
They already did back on PS2 and PSP, I forgot the game though.
@@HipHopFanatic-s8y
Justice League Heroes
No, absolutely not. DC's track record is so poor I have zero faith in them.
Tbh it’s a good idea they always been rivals. You’ll have great competition like cod vs battlefield back then
Just imagine, DC vs. Marvel: Rivals. That would have been 10x better.
Awful style and no one wants to play "random daughter that isn't canon" and more BS
@maravreloaded fair enough, but if they were to support the game they couldn't possibly do worst than the first chapter of content. According to the scraped leaks Killer Croc and Kitana was on the way.
I would love this but it would come off just very cheap lmao maybe that’s just my opinion
The mcu worked becasue they knew how to ground it, and importally had good villains Iron monger was great, but it fit, and Redskull and loki are good.
Most of this stuff forgets to make memorable villains, or they make unforgeable bad villains. The first suicide squad had both.
Even without asking, they would do it, when you say huge repertoire of characters, WB thinks of Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman, then Justice League
Lack of Ideas are why marvel and dc keep floundering, they need more idea guys
I got a name. DC: Worlds Finest or DC:League of Heroes.
DC: We’re copying Marvel AGAIN.
DC: Marvel did it already so we must as well
Should they make their own game? Yes.
Should it be a hero shooter? No.
They need to find their own lane in gaming for the DCU.
That being said, i have already thought of a kit for Batman:
his primary would be his fists and his passive would allow him to double jump and to glide with shift. his M2 would be his batarangs which would come with 3 charges that regenerate passively, pressing once consumes one charge and throws a barrage of batarangs, while holding down consumes 2 charges and throws an explosive batarang, throwing the latter mid air allows you to hover for better precision.
Pulling their lunches is the most marvel thing ive ever heard
3:19 what do you mean? He is a menace the daily bugle told me so
A DC rivals game would be cool but in my opinion I think we need more DC games that are about other DC Superheros who are NOT Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, Teen Titans etc, Batman's had his time to shine and just because he's the money maker does not mean everything DC related always has to revolve around him, Unlike DC with their characters Marvel has actually proven that they can make successful products that are about other Marvel characters and not only rely on Spider-Man
This shows that you know nothing about DC
Dc need to make a marvel alliance type game to take over a highly loved genre
DC Champions would be a great name for the game!
It could be live service and sell characters, weapons and skins and stuff!
...And people who like the Arkham series could make off line single player games as well!😎
YES!
It would be awesome!
What Suicide Squad Kill the Justice league should have been!😎
I'd actually like to see something DC vs Marvel for Rivals 2. It would definitely stand out and be a lot of fun. Both would mutually benefit from it.
It has been long long enough for a solo Superman game, and for Dc a Hulk game
I honestly really hope DC focuses more on single players and storylines and mechanics.
There are a lot og stories to explore and even if a "flash" game or "superman" game is hard to pullbof, there are still a lot of options and they could even do a soulslike version in the future. IMO DCUO was a great idea and if they revamp that game or make a new one with a new engine then an MMO would work much better for DC.
Dc needs to be working on that Superman game everyone is asking for. Or a batman beyond game.
If they did, they might get accused of apping Marvel like they did with the DCEU, so I don't think they could make a hero shooter but maybe they could do a different type of game with a similar theme.
This is what i would like in a potential DC Rivals roster
-Batman
-Superman
-Wonder Woman
-The Flash
-Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner since he is the one who as the most imagination)
-Martian Manhunter
-Cyborg
-Hawk Girl
-Aquaman
-Blue Beetle
-Red Hood
-Robin
(Tim Drake or Damian Wayne)
-Nightwing
-Raven
-Beast Boy
-Starfire
-Green Arrow
-Dr Fate
-Plastic Man
-Mister Terrific
-Metamorpho
-Deadshot
-Death Stroke
-Joker
-Lex Luthor
-Black Manta
-Harley Quinn
That is a total of 27 characters I thought of and 33 characters in Marvel Rivals I would like to see what everyone else would like to put in
I would prefer they just do a new dc universe online type game.
I see no reason why it wouldn't work. In fact, I advocate marvel and DC team up. Would be interesting to see them take over the gaming industry
"!soahC errrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuP" -Zatanna using her ult
They should make it PvE focused to distinguish itself from Ow and Rivals
We’ve finally gotten to the generation that doesn’t remember XMen Legends / Ultimate Alliance.
Would pay today prices for a remaster of both
If dc wants to do something like marvel rivals but not copy marvel rivals exactly, than they can opt for something that I like to call a "hero battle royale".
I Really Love this Vid a DC Rivals Game Would be Awesome Thanks for The Vid Jay
I hope they make a Star Wars one also so much potential
Star Wars battle front exists though and they making a new one
@@key2shawn154they making a new battlefront? I had no idea
Well? No, not at all, Injustice 3 would be what we need.
They need to use an asian studio if they want that.
Closing to it is Gotham Imposter
I think it would be better to just do it as a Teen Titans game and have it as a focused story game
To be fair, any one of the marvel superheroes could probably one punch someone to death specially, punisher and he's not even superpowered
Warner bros would be so greedy with it
I've been wishing for a marvel and dc hero shooter ever since overwatch came out.
CAPTAIN AMERICA, THE MIGHTY THOR, THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, THE BLACK WIDOW, THE HAWKEYE, AND THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN!!
Yes. After the success of Rivals I'm already anticipating a DC version
I'm done hoping for WB to do something. Monolith as it has barely done anything for wonderwoman as it is.
DC should just do it's own thing at this point.
If DC had an exact copy of this is still be playing both.
Anything they do they try to copy each other anyway.
Of course It worked great for the DCEU.
in my opinion
instead of DC making their own battle royal shooter
they should complete the Wonder Woman game they announced and focus on making The Flash,Superman or Aquaman games first
but if WBD really want's to compete with Marvel Rivals
they should make Warner Brothers Rivals
not just DC but also including a roster with characters from Looney Toons,Cartoon Network,HBO shows,Harry Potter etc.
Wasnt that Multiversua though?
@@tonileo9849Multiversus is a platform fighting game not a battle royal shooter
I liked Gotham City Imposters on 360 I was kinda upset they closed the servers but it was understandable
We kind of had that with sucide squad and it failed im good on a dc rivals game
Well if there was a PVE/ PVP, open world where you can roam around and queue up to have team fights, yeah it’s possible.
It’s called DC Universe Online!!!
There was a versus mode where you picked the established moves superhero!
But a lot of fans quit that game because of monetization.
I think all games will turn to shit with pay to win over time. MR is not immune to this.
Hear me out: instead of this, marvel rivals does crossovers with past ip that had crossover with marvel. Then eventually with their dc crossover they could rebrand to Marvel/dc rivals or something like that
Half of the problem with Guardians of the Galaxy was the perceived similarities between it and the horrible Avengers game.
They should make its like super brutal and comical
It's possible, but which company would Warner Bros. want to let make the game.
Just let DC characters be in the game mortal kombat guest style, while DC focuses on recouping itself for its losses like with SSKTJL
I actually feel like if marvel bought out dc ip they would treat it better than wb/dc is treating it
I think they already attempted it.. Multiverses
@MarkFloryda DC Online then!
A better comparison would be their failed Moba attempt, Infinite Crisis.
no because, it would be made by a western developer in warner bros and the characters won't be nearly as appealing. and it will be filled with nonsense that plagues western games.
I beg your pardon
@@CasualCat64 beg somewhere else
They should just make squad free and work towards that. FreeLC with access to unlockables along the way could beat rivals if done right. I'd also settle for them just starting ground up.
Dc should make a moba type game with their ips
Already done with the defunct Infinite Crisis
