Golf Membership, is it worth it?

- Golf Membership, is it worth it? Prior to becoming a member of a club myself, i've always asked this question. I've seen some of the nicest private golf clubs around the country, from LA to Vero Beach. As a golfer, you always want to play the best the industry has to offer. Can that be obtainable, well, it depends on how much money you have in your bank account. lol A lot of these top rated private courses are very expensive. Some of these courses do that to keep certain groups from our society out and to keep that prestige up. This is a conversation I had with one of the young brothers who invited me to play prior to use have some dinner after our round.

Thanks for the share!
Of course. Golf memberships are worth it for some lol. Thanks for watching, friend. I hope you subscribed. 💚🏌🏾✌🏾
Im working on becoming a member in be area. The price of entry to golf is crazy but the experience makes it worth it
Nice. What course are you considering? I would ask them if they offer referrals? Some courses don't have the same status as other private courses. That's the main issue I have with the system.
Just got a membership at a local course in my town. Meadowlands golf country, Chilliwack bc Canada, 1600 for full membership!
That's not bad. Congratulations. Sucks your golf season isn't long. Thanks for watching 💚 🏌🏾 ✌🏾
@BlackBirdieGolf fortunately my course is open all year round unless super heavy rain or snow. January/February is our worst months.
Oh, that's good then. You will get your money's worth.
What a great vlog bro!
Thanks bro, it came out pretty good. You see the restaurant put me in their stories on Instagram? You should get a nice discount. 💚⛳✌🏾
I’m struggling with joining a membership here in Cali bec there are so many great courses in the Bay and I don’t want to be confined to one…
That's a great problem to have. I think most dudes join a club because of a sense of belonging. We all like to be a part of a pack, like a pack of wolves. If you have buddies you play with already, you're in a pack, aka social group already. I shared the same philosophy with you because I want to play different courses because of my channel. I joined a club thinking I'd have access to top rated courses, in the end. I didn't have access to top rated courses.
Gotta watch out for those cart fees too came close to paying 2500 cart fees in a year in 2019
$2500, holy crap. That's crazy. I may have to do a deep dive into this even more. 🤦🏾
If you’re spending 2500 in cart fees at least you’re getting plenty of usage out of your membership. My issue lately has been having the membership and only getting out a few times a month due to work/travel/etc
Durham NC here
Nice bro! Definitely a nice city. 👌🏾
The courses at Duke and UNC are great and so is some BBQ
@iec7587 oh nice. I know NC have vinegar based BBQ. Not a huge fan of that style. 🙄 Lol. That Greek spot was amazing.
@@BlackBirdieGolf Carolina, Memphis, KC, Texas style.....sign me up. Even what I try to make at home on my regular gas grill (aluminum tray poke holes, wet wood chips)
I wish the nice courses around me were 80 to play a good one here it’s 120+
$120 is horrible. I have noticed courses have gone up in my area a lot. $70 courses are now $85 to $90. Are you in cali Kenneth?
@@BlackBirdieGolf no I’m by nova and Frederick md so whiskey creek, worthington manor, pb dye, blue mash, raspberry falls all over $120
@@BlackBirdieGolf so all the courses on your channel I typically play every weekend. Just played Maryland National Friday
@kennethwarren6447 oh nice. Maryland national is nice. I have to get up there in season.
@kennethwarren6447 wow. That's crazy they are so high now. Your still able to get a decent rate in VA.
how do you pick one as a single female
Most private courses have, "member for a day," or they provide tours. I would go to the course of interest on a nice sat morning around 10am and ask for a tour. Tell them you're interested in becoming a member and ask how many female golfers they have as members? Most private courses have a women's league and tournaments so you will make friends fast. I hope this helped! 💚🏌🏾♀️👍🏾
@@BlackBirdieGolf thanks so much i wanted to make connection not really into golf as a whole lol
OK. Anytime!
Pinehurst is the only membership I would consider. 8 courses, reciprocals to other great courses in Carolina. I cant play the same course all the time, just not my thing...
I agree. When I played the Duke course, the dude I was paired with was a member at Pinehurst. I think it's the best membership in the country. The issue he had was resort guests. It was hard to get tee times sometimes.
Yeah, I know someone who is a member at Pinehurst and it's very tough to get onto the top courses like #2,4 and 8 as all the tee times are booked by resort guests way in advance.
Yeah bro. That's pretty wack. The other courses are nice also. I need to play #5. I heard it was dope. Even being a member at Pinehurst won't get you on Seminole or pine valley. The golf membership politics are BS. 💚⛳✌🏾
I think ya gotta love the sport, as for the money ya gotta spend it someplace on some kind of hobby. I work at a club but have no interest in playing. I suck at it and thats fine hahah i know my limits. 👍🏻 yes they are very expensive, what blows my mind is the people who have multiple memberships. 👍🏻
Where's my invite? Yeah, people in this industry have tons of cash but most of the older dudes been members for 20 years. Membership fees weren't insane like they are now. Who has 75k for initiation fee of a course no one heard of. 🤦🏾. Thanks for watching! 💚⛳✌🏾
