This song is written like a poem, beautiful poetry verse lines, it means more or less this:
"When I die, I make one request to you,
that with your braids, braids of your black hair, you tie my hands together.
The love I have for you, if it was made of silver,
there would be no one richer than me in all of Spain".
Thanks for the comment! The lyrics, at least what you've given me here is beautiful. I could only imagine how much stronger the song would be knowing these lyrics. I love the imagery the words create in my mind :)
I like much your video.
My interpretation of the song:
It's an impossible love declaration, in ancient times.
A girl that's going to get married with a richer man than boy(marriage of convenience, without love)
The poor boy loves her, he knows they will never be together, he only has his pure love to give it to him.
(See how she wears the red dress, passion, and changes to the black dress, sadness, mourning).
I love your reactions! Also your voice is so calming ☺️
Thank you so much Luli! I appreciate the compliment. Your name is beautiful by the way :)
Congrats mate, I´m impressed the way you analyse those videos
Thanks for the comment Hugo! I appreciate the kind words my friend :)
Lyrics:
When I
When I
I die
I have a request for you
That with your braids
The braids, of your black hair
You tie my hands
Oh, if the love
That I have for you
Were silver
The love that
I have for you, if it was silver
Another richer than me
Oh in Spain, there still would not be
Thanks for the comment Maruzca! These lyrics and simple yet beautiful. I love them. I really like the image it creates in my mind when she says to tie her hands together with the black braids of her hair. Amazing. :)
I would love to see your reaction to "me quedo contigo" by Rosalía

Rosalia is as rare and unique in Spain as she is anywhere else in the world. People in Spain are also surprised by her style.
oh wow that's really interesting to know. Even the Spanish people are surprised. What a talent :)
She uses a lot this sort of type of flamenco fusion in her work. She actually studied flamenco in college. Gypsies, who brought and developed flamenco in the peninsular are of Europe, had Turkish origins. Furthermore, Spain part of the Arabian peninsula as it was ruled by the Arabs for 700 yeas. Spain and peninsular Spanish or Castilian have so much middle-eastern influences.
Hey Juan! That's good information on her. I didn't know she studied flamenco in school. That explains her vast knowledge of the musical culture. I think it's amazing how history has integrated us all into one melting pot. It's resulted in fantastic music :)
The live version of this song performed in Sevilla is amazing! I much prefer it because of her synergy with the incredible guitarist who is the same as the one on the video.
Very symbolic. The sound is raw, organic, very tribal. To me this is ancient Europe. She's so beautiful and bewitching - like ancient Europe's sorcerer. One of, if not my favourite song.
Hey! I totally agree. She's a work of art :)
Flamenco emerged from the encounter between Andalusian folk music and the way the Roma played music. The Roma, who originally came from India, first settled in Spain around 1425. From the very beginning and for centuries they were exposed to severe reprisals.
Actually, you have made an excellent reaction to this song by Rosalia "De Plata" (Made of silver). I don't know if you have been told that the main thread of this album is death through old flamenco songs. To the Spaniards, it is shocking not the interpretation of Rosalia, but the production of very modern and conceptual Spanish guitar. It has been several months, and since this work and also a few since your reaction and since then, we have seen many different facets of this singer (Reggeaton, lyric, Pop, Trap, Flamenco ...) everything does well and very different from rest of your competition I'm sure you have your eyes on this singer. In the last 50 years in the music of the US they have only influenced their own music (Jazz, Cauntry ...) or from other English-speaking countries (England, Jamaica, India ...) The rest of the world, we consumed this product, but we couldn't influence him. In the other cultures, we had a great advantage, we observed how you do things with great attention and detail, but you (most) did not pay any attention to what was done. Rosalia is just the beginning of a tremendous change in music, culture ...
When I first heard Rosalia, I thought it was a commercial product manufactured by a great company because it is not usual for a beautiful 25-year-old girl to be a singer, producer, lyricist, multi instrumentalist (guitar, cello piano), titled Advanced university student in flamenco music with ten years of study in jazz dance, another 10 years in flamenco dance, and 8 in contemporary dance, and who is also very intelligent to design all her songs from all points of view (music, lyrics, dance, video, direct) I recommend a video analyzing the music of Rosalia, you have very good English subtitles. Jaime Altozano What nobody is saying about EVIL WANTING Thank you very much for your attention, and I am already subscribed.
Thank you so much for this really thought out comment. I do appreciate your efforts. I agree with you. I think the US music industry is focused on the artists of the US although their is so much talent in the world that needs the marketing to get more global exposure. For me personally, I enjoy music as a sense of emotion. I think for Rosalias case, its the language that's the barrier to global exposure. Since most of the world can speak english it makes it easier for US artist to reach the masses. I don't think this is a good enough reason for the world not to see or recognize other artists that aren't as famous as Rosalia. I love her music and her artistic style. I think eventually she will become a world wide legend. She's not only a musician and an artist, she's a historian.
Is Jaime Altozan Evil wanting the song request? :)
I must say What Tina Turner, sang:
Your are simply the best ..in reacting to Rosalía. You own that sensibiliy that comes from your ancestors and that I really adore.
Two works of Art merged into one: the song and your reacción
And, we the audiance attending the show atonished.
Greetings from Spain, my friend
Oh wow that's incredibly kind my friend! I am extremely happy that I have the opportunity to react to such perfection of art. And her fans are even better then she is. Thank you so much for the support and I will surly continue to react! It makes me happy to know you're happy. :)
I love your reactions, very well reasoned. Thanks a good time.
I have seen your reactions to Rosalia as funny as you seem, you are not the only one because many of your countrymen who react on UA-cam do the same. You have been manufacturing music for 60 years inspired only by Anglo-Saxon music and by yourself (Ireland, Jamaica, England, etc.) At this time, only a contribution of black musics. Meanwhile, the rest of the world consumes your music, which we know very well, in detail. We know everything about you, but you don't know anything about us, about our music, rhythms, traditions ... This is breaking, first Latin music, K-POP African music ... Rosalia and flamenco (traditional music 600 years old at least) is another element in this break. The music that will dominate in the next few decades, I don't know if it will be better than the previous one, but more diverse. Best regards from Spain (Europe)
Hey Angel! I tend to agree with your statement here. I do think it's word that the world consumes our western music but we do not do the same in return. I obviously do not agree with this, hence the reaction videos. But I do think that the next few decades will give room for other cultural music to thrive. Also, the internet has done so much for spreading music across country lines. Thanks the comment my friend! :)
Yes Flamenco muusic has an Arabic ancestry background
Thanks for the comments! So good to know. I think the mixture of culture is beautiful :)
No girl flamenco comes from the gypsies
It’s interesting cause it actually sounds very arabic even tho she is singing classic flamenco type of song. I guess that’s cause flamenco has lots of oriental influences of gipsy’s culture...
I mean yep. Flamenco even has indian influences in its music. And taking into account that time when the Moors took over spain, it makes sense that it would influence music as well.
Efectivelly, flamengo reminds indian influences since was Arabs (Omeyas from Damasco) instead of Moors (north Africa) who conquered Spain in the begining. But flamenco also contains cristian and jewis influences. It is a crisol of cultures.
Interesting Javier, it's cool to hear flamenco type of music. Thanks for the input! The gypsy culture embedded is beautiful! :)
@@deadsoon Oh wow, I didn't even consider that at all. That actually makes a lot of sense. It's amazing how much history can tell us about things we have today. (like music). Amazing!
@@alerbi8264 Thanks for the comment! Wow, the Omeyas conquered and the influence spread. It's great to know the Christian and Jewish influence has played a role in the sound. It's really fascinating! :)
wow this woman is not human
I agree Ricardo! Her talent is from another planet! Thanks for the comment my friend :)
Maybe she's not human but she's from Spain
Great video, congrats! React to Bagdad from Rosalía, please!
Thanks for the comment! I can absolutely add that one to the reactions. Stay tuned for when I post it :)
2:40 @FajiTV this is arabic music mate. Spanish folklore music, flamenco, born in the mix of two cultures. Arabic and Hispanic-Latin culture.
it's really amazing that you've detected it without knowing flamenco. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment Sucias! I'm so glad that the influence I heard was truly there. It makes me so happy to hear a fusion of Arabic and Hispanic-Latin culture. It makes the world a much smaller place and more like home. Thanks for watching my friend! :)
It is great to see your reactions...check out "De Aqui No Sales" (From here you don't leave - word by word) the visual and the sound used it is mind blowing!

And yes she is a trained artist, she comes from really traditional education in Spaniard music and she mix it so well with modern sounds. So the rest of the album is as amazing.
Thanks for the comment! And sure thing, I will definitely that one out. Her background is amazing. I've learned so much from her wonderful fans! If you haven't already, subscribe so you know when I post your request :)
I prefer her live version of this song as she is such an incredible live performer and the guitarrist, Raul Refree is amazing to watch as well. Just the two of them on stage is entrancing! The version live in Seville to me is their best. In case you want to check it out.
That's good to know! I will make note of this and check it out :)
It's really interesting what you said about the sort of "arabic sound" you could notice in this song, because, actually, the spanish Flamenco, born in the South of Spain (Andalucía), has such a big arabic heritage. Arabs were in the Península Ibérica from year 711 to 1492, so they obviously left a profound mark in here (I'm Spanish and I've studied all this in my degree, so I found your appreciation very remarkable).
Greetings!
Hey! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the reaction. I think it's so cool that you've studied this in school. You probably have so much knowledge of the history. I'm jealous haha. Thank you for watching! Don't forget to subscribe :)
You should see the.clip.of this song De Plata performed live at Directo Sevilla. Just her and the guitar player. You are right that this song can be done live somewhat easily. Her performance is excellent!
Pienso en tu mira de Rosalia is really good and have a interesting mix of type of music
Thanks for the suggestion my friend. I've actually already reacted to that one. Check it out on my channel. And thank you, I love all types of music. Music is just amazing. We create it from nothing :)
There types of flamenco songs called "palos". They are liked standars. In a flamenco jam, the guitar player and the singer can agree what palo to play, even if the musicians dont meet each other and without rehearsal. This song is a " seguidilla flamenca", you can find in youtube many seguidillas. Also they are know as seguirillas or seguiriyas, I think Miles Davis has a song based in this form
Thanks for the comment! Oh I see. They're standards to the singer and guitar player and perform without much rehearsal. That's amazing! Kind of similar to time signatures and how a band can play together following a specific time. But this is very unique. I'd be curious to hear what Miles Davis did with style of playing. Honestly, it makes complete sense that a jazz musician would adopt this technique because jazz has a lot of improvisation which requires systems like the one you've explained in order for everyone to play together at anytime. Thanks for sharing! :)

Excuse me. Miles Davis played a "saeta". Its a similar palo. Its like a seguiriyas sung at holly week
ua-cam.com/video/mNx9fABz2f0/v-deo.html. You can ser the rythm and chords are the same. Thanks for the interest in the music of my country. I also can understand the feelings of arab , indian or midle east music because I like flamenco
@@hepcadiz Oh I understand what you're saying now my friend. I'll check out the link! I'm glad you can relate to the Indian and Arab music sound. What a wonderful thing. I love that the world can become such a small place when we communicate across the globe this way. Music is music and I will always listen :)
Please react to DE AQUÍ NO SALES from Rosalia, honestly you’re not gonna regret since its one of her most “experimental” produced songs. and also QUE NO SALGA LA LUNA thats more spain-like

@@nicolyanez1649 Awesome! Glad you liked it. Ok cool, that one will be up soon :)
OH other people help you whith the lyrics jeje, The truth is that it is not a very large letter, and as you say, are songs that convey feelings apart from the lyrics, the roots of the same Spanish culture and the art of flamenco
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, people have been very helpful with the lyrics! The Spanish culture and flamenco mixed makes the magic of Rosalia :)
Flamenco comes from Arabic...Great reaction!!
No flamenco comes from the gypsies 🤦♂️
Rosalia 2017, before the dumb posers came. Hope she will never lose her artistic integrity
Thanks for the comment Christian! Yes, I hope she stays true to her roots as well. This is beyond beautiful :)
