Those Oldsmobile 98s were in the same class as a Cadillac ! You can tell by the styling . They were usually owned by wealthier people . Still a FINE AUTOMOBILE , even today !!
My father had told me Oldsmobiles 98 was Cadillac's Deville experimental car. So was the Toronado for the El Dorado. Anything new the Cadillac had, more times than not was tested out on the 98 first for a durability period before being allowed on the Caddy. And yes, wealthier people would buy Oldsmobiles and Buicks to get the Cadillac luxury appointments and looks but not be so ostentatious to the neighbors with actually owning a Cadillac.
The 64 Oldsmobile was the first car my dad purchased that was not a Buick Roadmaster. Ours was blue. Great comfort!
My dad’s was blue also. Loved it.
A time capsule.
My father had this same car in fern green with matching green interiors.
I got my learners permit on it in 1966.
I remember I had to wash it weekly, every Saturday morning.
A sweet ride indeed.
WHAT an Incredibly Beauuuutiful Car!💕
I haven't seen this in person since I was a little kid!
It was garaged out of sun a lot ! A neighbor had one like it as a daily driver when I was a kid. It was too long to fit in their home’s on car garage . Love the steering wheel and dash All luxury. A real doctor’s or owned by a rich guy.
What a beautiful car. I really like the styling of the GM 4 door hardtops from this era. The interior is just pure luxury and far superior to a Caddy series 62 of the same year for less money.
What a beautiful car! The 1964 98s were the best looking of the decade. We had a 1963, which I learned to drive on. Richard Nixon was a big Olds 98 fan, owning several in the '50s and '60s
A very beautiful oldsmobile 98 luxury sedan looks like a limousine.
You need to find the FM/AM radio, tilt steering column with woodgrain wheel, front fender cornering lights, chrome valve covers, reverb in the back, guidmatic headlight , positrack rear and 0:35 0:35 semi-metalic brake shoes! Mine hal all of these long ago. A luxury sedan/tank!
I don’t give AF how many camera’s, speakers, heated seats, etc the new cars have I’d take this beauty every day before a new car. The steering was so smooth, the ride smooth, you didn’t feel bumps and you didn’t hear the road and more comfortable. No didn’t handle like a race car but that’s not what this is it’s a LUXURY CAR. What they call luxury these days you’d have to put out over 100K to get a similar ride.
I would love to have a car like this
Love that styling. Solid alright!
These were beautiful cars .😀
What a car! Keep it original please!🙏🏻
Good day. Many thanks. Enjoyed of course. Bravo! Didn't forget to press the like button. Lots of love and greetings from your subscriber. Baku city
Together with Buick Electra 225 1964, those are the most beatyful cars ever built!! There are a couple of contenders of the second place: Packard Clipper 1955, Oldsmobile and Buick full size 1958, and Chrysler Newport or "fullsize" 1970!
Excellent job for that age.
Wow all the options and perfect. Look where reverse is! I thought they standardized that before 64. You get in and think you're banging it in low and floor it, you're in trouble. Lol
Very elegant and classy, it almost looks a little like the contemporary Mercury competition.
I was thinking the same.
The end of the front fenders is very similar.
Stunning!
A fantastic car!
Nice and stunning! However, it does somewhat ressemble to the Chrysler 300, or to the Newyorker model design, from that same time period. Especially with the front end and the back fins. Nice job! Good show! Thank you, Johnny, Montréal, Canada.
Not the 1964 Chryslers. If anything the 1967 Chrysler models resemble this 1964.
they also did a Bill Blass Edition 1964 4 door hardtop.
That motor looks restored.
Oooh 😍 💙 what color is it black or midnight blue?
This car is black 👍
@@uniqueclassiccars thats my dream car ❤
That is a beauty. I always wondered why that body was called a six window sedan. Cadillac labeled there's a 6 window sedan too. I always wondered what constitutes a six window sedan label as in my evaluation it's a 8 window sedan with that extra stationary vent window in the back.
I cant believe how much better the cars looked back then. They had such style and they were so much fun to drive. Cars have become so boring and ugly. Gosh, if we could just turn back the hands of time to the 60s and these beautiful cars and beautiful people whom both had such grace and style. No cell phones thank God!! I'm so sick of seeing phones everywhere!! What a bore. I think America has gone down hill. People today are colorless and void of personality and charm. The 20s SUCK!
NO FAKE WOOD!
Is this car still for sale ?
How much? My guess ur asking 40k
These Olds 98s drove like they were on rails.
