    This lesson reminds me of a recent conversation with a friend of my son. This young man is very intelligent and educated in a variety of areas. He told me about recovering from a brain injury from a bicycle wreck. An effect of the injury is that his ability to select optimum words in conversations has been slowed. This is very frustrating for him because he learned from his grandmother to love words and to take pleasure from having a large vocabulary. He recovered to a large degree in six years since the accident, but he says he still has ground to gain. Thanks for the lessons.

      I am so glad to hear that he has recovered to a large degree. I hope he continues to recover. He must be very resilient!

    Thank you. I'm really enjoying your lessons. My writing has improved a lot. I still have a lot to learn. I have found that this is the best medium (youtube) for me to learn. I can rewatch, return, or skip as needed.

    I am 69 years old, tri-lingual - and only now learning the basics!
    In 1972, when I dropped out of High School, the imparting of usable knowledge had yet to be distilled.
    We few, who comment, risking exposure as flawed interlocutors, deserve commendation.
    Personally, I'm enamored of the dash, after the interjection - hiding behind abstruse punctuation and $5 Dollar words, to throw off the hounds.

    Dear Ma'am, I could not find videos on verbs, prepositions, and conjunctions. Could you please add them too in your list? All your videos are explained well. If possible can you please add the clauses and the comparison words in the Adjectives video; this can become more useful for us.

    In the sentence, "You know, that dress really doesn't work for you," could "you know" be considered an interjection?

    • @SparkleEnglish
      @SparkleEnglish  Рік тому

      I believe so. If we take away the comma after you know, it would have a different meaning.
      "You know that dress doesn't work for you." This would imply the person knows it isn't a proper dress yet insists on wearing it.
