The pulse rifle no longer has any stopping power for stunlock kills, the flamethrower does show the peeling system but isn't as effective as just shooting them with the plasma cutter, same with the ripper as is the flamethrower, and the force gun was always a support weapon to begin with.
Literally as long as you pace your shots, buy ammo with spare change every so often, and don’t be careless with it ammo is a nonissue unless you’re actively trying or need a dose of Git Gud. (Speaking from experience in DS2 Hardcore)
Would you believe me if I said the reason they repeat Cut off the Limbs so often was because the QA testers missed the giant blood written "CUT THE LIMBS" on where you get the Plasma Cutter so they had to add another hint... and they missed that one too and thus more hints to cut the dammed limbs of damnit. oh and... I don't really know about the save stations but I think in an anime that takes place prior to Dead Space a charaacter actually uses it to record something so maybe they are video recording stations? I dunno but that's my best guess
As a QA myself, more hints are better as you will meet soooo many idiots or people with difficulties that would struggle with basic things like certain colour text on different background colours etc

The pedestal you place the marker on at the end of the game is supposed to extend the dead space field that the necromorphs Can’t enter around the marker to cover the whole planet putting all the necromorphs into a hibernation kinda .That’s how they sealed it up the first time.
And they do explicitly state that in the game-but our player here didn’t seem to be into the lore, so they didn’t pay attention to the logs that explain this (or didn’t find the log, they probably didn’t do a great job of exploring if they were constantly running out of ammo). Or it might be a gag for exaggeration’s sake. The player made frequent claims of “I know how to play this game!” While shooting at the body instead of going for limbs. I assume for comedic effect. I also wondered at all of the bugs they encountered-never had anything like the respawning nuke happen on any of my play throughs.
It’s also based off the canonical lore that was released like a decade ago what’s been tweaked? I got no clue, but that is the original answer for the original dead space game released a decade or so ago. There’s also like three movies that explain it to you if you want to go look into it.

If you only have the plasma cutter equipped, it'll only give you plasma cutter ammo (with the exception being the Valor, which has a LOT of assault rifle ammo and no shop to sell them at)
@Williaso you do realize you're not completely locked the Valor during chapter 9, right? You can run back to the airlock at the beginning of the chapter, and spacefly back to the shop on the Ishumura
I like the idea of having nicole be an actual person being masked mainly because of the escort stuff with the necros trying to attack her, wouldn't make sense if she was a ghost instead
I’ve always wondered the same thing about the safe points until I realized that they could be punchcard machines that have to take a photo of you to make sure that you’re the one who punched yourself out of work. Like some part-time and blue-collar jobs still use digital punch machines or apps to record your start and end of the day if you’re a wage worker (I was in a construction union at one point the foreman would account for us, and that would be our pay) so because the ishimura Is such a massive ship that it needs a bar several cafeteria, a bio, Wing, etc etc, I would guess it’s a common occurrence for workers to leave work early and have someone else punch out for them.
Hearing the Weezer bit in its final form was impressive considering the earlier times you did it - you've definitely improved at not breathing since then

I heard it's pretty effective at killing censored necromorphs.

I don't know if anyone has noticed or pointed out but. At the start of the game when you first encounter scary stuff, Issac's heart beats loudly. It was in the little toilet stall when I first stomped a corpse that i noticed it. But it stops by the end... Or everything was too loud to hear it.

The problem with what Isaac did is that the marker wanted to go there. It wasn't known at first but the marker pedestal can amplify its influence. What happened is that it manipulated Isaac into thinking that bringing it back will save humanity and the infection would stop, it didn't have that big of an area of effect to actually affect humanity in a way it wanted to (that includes Isaac). So when Isaac brought it back it imprinted his mind with its schematics. In normal people this causes insanity (hearing whispers, seeing weird shit etc.) but in highly intelligent beings it causes an obsession to understand the symbols and try to build another marker (and this is exactly what happens in DS2). So by bringing it where it wanted Isaac brought humanity closer to destruction. Daniels was the good gal here, she also saw through Isaac and didn't want to leave the marker with him (he was talking to his clearly dead girlfriend - he was too gone at this point, you can even see that she seems sad when she hears about that). Oh and the something at the end is the marker's EMP, they do that when they are activated. It knocked the tethers offline so the payload dropped into the planet.
In the original, I did think the ripper was useless, but in this game you can use it to stun-lock most enemies to death. Most of the time you are not facing more than 1-2 enemies at a time as well, so it actually is somewhat useful (and fun) in this game compared to the original.
The ripper always was best damage per ammo spent weapon. Usually for impossible run you want one precision weapon (cutter), one crowd control (line gun or force gun, preferably both) and the ripper as way to conserve ammo because everything takes so much to kill. In the remake the ripper is very good weapon in terms of damage per ammo but outclassed by flamethrower paired with pulse rifle - ordinary slasher takes two bursts and two shots to get it down.
23:27 I think in both the remake and original the 'wizard' wanted to take it back to 'federation space' but Issac and his ghost GF overrode the navigational computer of the shuttle from the ishimura to send it back to aegis VII so they could return the marker. The final level is just just Daniels and Isaac playing forklift tug of war with the maker. I think it's implied that the marker only has a set radius and so if they removed the marker from the planet, the creatures would go inert again so I think the marker just wanted to keep the marker there so the monsters could keep on monstering, and then issac at the last minute dropped a giant rock on it...........i mean the marker there, would probably have the secondary effect of luring more people to the planet to absorb but I'm just speculating at this point.

The Black Marker, which is Alien, was reverse engineered like Daniels said, but was made from scratch on the surface of Aegis 7 a few years after Unitology was formed and the Church of Unitology was formed like 2 or 3 centuries prior to the Dead Space storyline. What I'm saying is that the people who originally made the Red Marker centuries ago turned insane as a result and "became whole", becoming the Hive Mind Isaac killed at the end.

For safe stations i always saw them as distress call devices. Shit you walk up to and report an accident so a medical staff can be send in. My idea is basicly "if there would be a comms down scenario and you need a medic you use this thing".
There was some text log in the originals new game + mode that said the reason the Marker has the opposite effect to the other markers was because of the pedestal, something about the original scientists engineering it to have a reverse- necromorph effect??
If you use one weapon, you get ammo for only that gun. I put away all the other weapons, yet the game still barely gave me ammo. I think that's fair to complain about, don't you?

I have evidence of me never being able to pick up any new weapons in the dead space remake at all. so I had to sell every other ammo type and at points I still was in BOSS FIGHTS with no ammo having to rely on cryostatis or whatever its called
@@Williaso After learning it, my new play style was debuffing with the flamethrower before switching to the plasma cutter and meleeing them. I would just punch through hordes lol. The biggest quality of life change for my game is I didn't have to shoot the door locks or crates too high to stomp
Ok this game doesn't really explain why the marker has to return to the pedestal because it's not a good thing for Isaac. The marker is using nicole vision to force Isaac to bring it back on his pedestal,this process allow the marker to implant fabrication code to a new marker in isaac brain,leading to DS2 event. Because the aegis VII marker is not very usefull,it can create a necromorph contagion but not achieve convergence because the only way a man made marker can achieve convergence is through the sacrifice of the builder. And the aegis VII marker builders are long gone so the marker is useless. Nicole eventually discover it and commit suicide because there is no hope or no end to the outbreak but you learn this only in NG+ nicole log.
Wills skill when it comes to anything gameplay related is downright the worst I’ve seen in a while But if you told him to find every plausible glitch he’d do it in minutes
The reason why the marker needs to be returned is because it has an eye of a storm effect on the neckromorphs and when it’s put on a pedestal on the planet it expands that so put the whole planet to sleep. The doctor explained this earlier in the game
That's what the doctor thinks would happen, but in reality (so because of retcons and in this version of the game) it's just the marker wanting to be "made whole" so it can do convergence.
It’s pretty clear by the time Kyne dies that he’s being manipulated by the marker and if the dormancy field thing was even true remotely the Hive Mind would’ve stayed in his little crater and died like a good little necromorph. And the second guy is also wrong because you can start convergence wherever the hell you want if there’s enough biomass, if it can happen on the Sprawl it can happen anywhere. No retcons either, even in the original, if you played extraction and watched the dumb movie it never actually gives a concrete answer as to why the marker wanted to go back to Aegis 7

Ammo is biased to the gun you're holding. After getting all the gun achievements I only hold the Force Gun for 2 reasons. 1st It's BOSS. 2nd It's rich as Hell. Without it's upgrades it's just another gun that shoves enemies but maxed out, you ever see an enemy explode? PS: This dude is clearly a Sonic fan, saying "Hydrocity Zone", although he's pronouncing it wrong.

Without going into a long explanation - Most survival horror allows you to decide whether you want to waste your ammo on enemies or try to go past them. Dead Space rarely has this option, as most rooms lock you in until you kill them. So outside of being extremely precise with your shooting all the time, you can't really manage your ammo like you do in other games. In the specific instance I was frustrated, it's because you're locked into the tentacle sequence with absolutely no way to gain more ammo, and when you die it resets you at the beginning of the tentacle sequence, meaning an endless death loop that forces you to reload an earlier save. Easy fix would be the option to grab a little ammo with the gravity hand thing, or just give the player ammo for the sequence so they can't get softlocked. So yeah, it's pretty dumb.
I've never experienced having no ammo during a tentacle part before. I think you're the first to not Will

I found selling all the excess ammo was the best option. I did that in my last play through and just purchased all the cutter ammo I needed.

I noticed. It does it if you sprint for long periods of time too. Not as fast as being attacked but still very noticeable.

There was some text log in the originals new game + mode that said the reason the Marker has the opposite effect to the other markers was because of the pedestal, something about the original scientists engineering it to have a reverse- necromorph effect??

If you use one weapon, you get ammo for only that gun. I put away all the other weapons, yet the game still barely gave me ammo.

I have evidence of me never being able to pick up any new weapons in the dead space remake at all. so I had to sell every other ammo type and at points I still was in BOSS FIGHTS with no ammo having to rely on cryostatis or whatever its called

I didn't know you could melee aside from stomping until chapter 10 when I got the last plasma cutter upgrade that knocks over enemies

@@Williaso After learning it, my new play style was debuffing with the flamethrower before switching to the plasma cutter and meleeing them. I would just punch through hordes lol. The biggest quality of life change for my game is I didn't have to shoot the door locks or crates too high to stomp

Ok this game doesn't really explain why the marker has to return to the pedestal because it's not a good thing for Isaac. The marker is using nicole vision to force Isaac to bring it back on his pedestal,this process allow the marker to implant fabrication code to a new marker in isaac brain,leading to DS2 event. Because the aegis VII marker is not very usefull,it can create a necromorph contagion but not achieve convergence because the only way a man made marker can achieve convergence is through the sacrifice of the builder. And the aegis VII marker builders are long gone so the marker is useless. Nicole eventually discover it and commit suicide because there is no hope or no end to the outbreak but you learn this only in NG+ nicole log.

The reason why the marker needs to be returned is because it has an eye of a storm effect on the neckromorphs and when it’s put on a pedestal on the planet it expands that so put the whole planet to sleep.
The doctor explained this earlier in the game

Which is all a lie the marker told the doctor so it would take it planet side. Because you can’t start convergence inside a space ship.
That's what the doctor thinks would happen, but in reality (so because of retcons and in this version of the game) it's just the marker wanting to be "made whole" so it can do convergence.

It’s pretty clear by the time Kyne dies that he’s being manipulated by the marker and if the dormancy field thing was even true remotely the Hive Mind would’ve stayed in his little crater and died like a good little necromorph. And the second guy is also wrong because you can start convergence wherever the hell you want if there’s enough biomass, if it can happen on the Sprawl it can happen anywhere. No retcons either, even in the original, if you played extraction and watched the dumb movie it never actually gives a concrete answer as to why the marker wanted to go back to Aegis 7

in the original dead space when your being taken away you can switch guns and in the 2023 remastered you can switch guns so no its not a soft lock

Never before have I heard someone complain so much about a problem that they themselves created.
Ammo is biased to the gun you're holding. After getting all the gun achievements I only hold the Force Gun for 2 reasons.
1st It's BOSS.
2nd It's rich as Hell.
Without it's upgrades it's just another gun that shoves enemies but maxed out, you ever see an enemy explode?

Its survival horror. You ALWAYS manage your ammo and healing items. Why is that dumb?
Without going into a long explanation -
Most survival horror allows you to decide whether you want to waste your ammo on enemies or try to go past them. Dead Space rarely has this option, as most rooms lock you in until you kill them. So outside of being extremely precise with your shooting all the time, you can't really manage your ammo like you do in other games.
In the specific instance I was frustrated, it's because you're locked into the tentacle sequence with absolutely no way to gain more ammo, and when you die it resets you at the beginning of the tentacle sequence, meaning an endless death loop that forces you to reload an earlier save. Easy fix would be the option to grab a little ammo with the gravity hand thing, or just give the player ammo for the sequence so they can't get softlocked.
So yeah, it's pretty dumb.
