Me too! The heavier tracks on AHIG are some of my favorites. I was actually really disappointed when The Gray Chapter album came out and their sound changed, it seems like they are still continuing with TGC sound.
Here's some Sid groups for your information. Off the top of my head, he started out with a Des Moines' DJ collective called 'Sound Proof Coalition'. He does solo DJ stuff as 'DJ Starscream' where he has many releases including the samples he uses in Slipknot, and is big in Japan. He also does live sets wearing a Transformers mask. He has a solo project called 'SID' but that's kind of trippy and he mainly does rapping there. He does DJing and rapping in a project called TMVSC, or 'The Miami Vice Sound Crack'. He's done guest appearances on records by Stone Sour, Necro, Rob Gee, KCUF, Blue Felix, Prozak, and a whole bunch of Japanese, soundtracks, and underground stuff. I highly recommend the Prozak track 'End Of Us', which is a nice blend of rap and metal and features Sid rather heavily on the decks. The music video is pretty cool.
It's interesting you bring up the Thrash/Death metal elements, Thrash (all varieties) is my favorite genre so maybe that's why I love this album soo much. You can probably tell how much I love Thrash based on my Patreon requests on Kurtis B's channel, 99.9% of my requests are underground Modern Thrash bands. If you like Thrash metal, I have some great suggestions if you're interested.
This song along with Gematria and This Cold Black are some of my favorites for that very reason. I know a lot of people didn't like AHIG when it came out, but I really liked the more thrash/death metal direction of the heavier songs on it. I was actually disappointed when they didn't really continue with that when TGC was released.
There’s a lot of stuff Sid does that you don’t really hear unless you listen to the iso tracks. Stuff that adds that X factor that you really can’t pick out in the mix but when you strip the tracks down he does even more than you think. Portugal the man is goated.
Joey's drumming is always what stands out the most for me, it's just pure insanity lol. Definitely his most intense song, I love this whole album. Mick and Jim Root had some great riffs on this album, and the guitar solos were well done imo. RIP Joey and RIP Paul, this was the last album with them in the band. 🙏
Alright, now that you guys have done Slipknot's most brutal song, how about checking out "Iowa" next (Slipknot's scariest song imo). I describe it as "serial k*ller music", it actually freaked me out the first time I heard it lol. "Iowa" feels like a 15 minute satanic ritual lol, and the lyrics are truly disturbing. You guys gotta check out "Iowa", I think you're ready for it. 🤘🤘🤙🤙
Most death metal song they've ever had! I remember being so super exited when it was the very first song they've dropped for the upcoming album. And actually I've never known this song as the last song of the album, since I've instantly bought the CD the day it came out and it had 3 bonus tracks after this one, which kinda work like a long calm outro for the album and made perfect sense in terms of the album structure. And I'm also really glad that Joey continued on death metal route after leaving Slipknot, with Sinsaenum. P.S. That intro riff though, slightly reminds me of Exode of Evils by Kataklysm, even though I like Slipknot's version better.
Morning guys, awesome awesome song! The drum work alone is incredible. Love these Slipknot Saturdays. Keep it up, so close to 100k. I think by next Saturday you’ll have reached it. I love being along for the ride. Volbeat- Shotgun Blues!
Hell yeah, finally! This is pretty much Slipknot's most brutal song, it's the closest thing to death metal Slipknot has produced and it's Joey's most intense song on drums. I will defend this album for the rest of my life lol, AHIG is a truly great album and I think the songs still hold up well to this day. Happy Slipknot Saturday everyone! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
@@FlyboyHelosim yep, that's a great way to put it. I love Iowa as much as any other Slipknot fan, but that doesn't mean the other albums aren't great just because they aren't Iowa 2.0.

I was 12 when this album came out, i was raised off their first album, so when this album dropped, and the self tilted song dropped (this song) i remember my 12 year old ass slowly turned to my dad, and he did the same, and we just looked at eachother like "holy shit, this is amazing" And we made our trip to the record store 30min longer cause we kept replaying it 😂
I really, really, severely want you to hear Do Nothing/Bitchslap from Mate Feed Kill Repeat. Nothing is ever going to prepare you for what TF this song actually is, so you just gotta do it. It was Paul, Mick, Clown and Joey, and the original singer Anders. It’s a Paul song, hopefully that’s intriguing, and I also want you guys to be fully aware that not only did Mick used to wear a pink dress, photos exist.
One year ago today I saw Slipknot for the second time at Inkarceration in Ohio. I drove over 7 hours to see them and it was my first show in 2 years(because I saw them about a year before covid). They kicked ass and it was such a fun nigh. I didn’t know it yet but a year later a new album would be on its way out and here we are today…just a few more weeks until Album #7…HYPE TRAIN!!!🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
You guys should check out the Slipknot home videos, they're badass! And you should do a react to unmask the guys lol that'd be fun. I'm surprised yall don't know more about them by now but as a long time fan it's cool to see it through fresh eyes and yall are a good time! Thanks for Slipknot Saturday, I never miss a show 🤘
The title track to waiting for the sun by the Doors is on the next album because they weren't happy with the version they had. And Stone Sour is pretty popular.
@@mrdeathamore I think they do that as a way of keeping those tracks special for their core audience. But at the same time, they also want to promote their albums by playing the hits.

Loved hearing you guys talking up Sid Wilson, you can see him unmasked in the music video he was in for this local band Blue Felix doin some scratching. More rap metal I think you guys would like. Songs "middle finger up"
Late to the party as usual lol but one of the reasons Slipknot doesn’t like this song or play it live is because they were embarrassed playing it live to kickoff the Mayhem Fest 2008 tour in Seattle. It’s online but they were clearly bad at playing it because it was too complex for a live show. Fun fact: During the live world premiere of “Psychosocial” Sid broke both of his heels/ankles during a jump which he landed poorly on and you can clearly hear Corey ask if he’s ok. He still played the entire show like a legend!
Smokey got the right of it. The masks are to integral to who they were at the time. We didn't even know what their real names were until Corey came back with stone sour and that was after Iowa came out. P.S. you dance to this by just throwing elbows lmao P.S.S. Sid vs DJ Lethal!
