Donna Summer is the finest female vocalist of all time and this just shows why. Effortless, note perfect as always and simply flawless. I've said it before but Donna was also very generous when performing with others. Seal's voice isn't as powerful but Donna never tries to outshine him. A true star.
I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately she died at 63 y/o of cancer. After raising 3 kids and became a grand-mother she recorded a new album ''Crayons'' in 2008 and she became sick after. I didn't know she wrote songs for other artists and she was also a painter. When you look at her when she sings, she knows how to handle her microphone compares to other great singers and I don't want to mention names. She was one of the greatest singer of her generation, God bless her.
When she passed, I truly cried for days. To see she gave this masterful performance and passed a few months because of cancer broke my heart. She was the Queen of Disco, the Godmother of EDM, talented painter, and just a talented great woman. Miss her.
She sounds SOOO good!!! I remember seeing her in 1979 atthe Conrad Hilton in Chicago...one of my best memories!! She was GREAT!!! & at the height of her popularity! She looks AMAZING in this video too!!! She makes you want to get up & dance!!! :)
So clear, resonant and powerful; Donna had a magnificent instrument...so underrated as she is often not mentioned when people discuss great singers and great voices. She is definitely one of the best!
Donna was amazing! And remember, there was no auto-tune back then. You just earned yourself another sub bro! Keep doing the right thing. You're awesome!
When Seal broke out in early 90s it was CRAZY! We adored him! Crazy, Killer, Future Love Paradise, then Kiss From a Rose, oh come on! Get to know him… And David Foster. He has written, composed, arranged and produced endless classics and worked with the best of the best.
I’ve had several diva stages in my life. lol From Olivia to Whitney to Mariah and to my all-time favourite Celine. But it all started for me at 12 years old with Donna. A timeless voice. I miss her. ❤️ Love your reaction. Btw it’s Summer not Summers. 😉
I highly recommend her 1999 release of 'Live and More Encore' , the VH1 concert version of this on DVD....its awesome! (an epic concert, great visual and auido production, stellar!) - her last studio album was 'Crayons' in 2008.....a true legend and what a voice. - she passed away from lung cancer (non smoking related) about 7 months later after the concert above in May of 2012. - which is very interesting since she was such a power house vocalist, excellent breath control, took care of her voice very well.
In her “Behind The Music” VH1 special, there’s a clip of her father saying she will be singing until her last breath. He couldn’t have been more correct. She blessed us with her voice and I know I am eternally grateful.
Donna's voice was amazing and always pitch-perfect. What power...what emotion! We loved her. I liked when she paired up with Barbra Streisand with the disco song "Enough is Enough", one of the great songs of the disco era. The guy's name is David Foster, a prolific and gifted song-writer.
I absolutely LOVE David Foster, the magic man, lovely genius who 'brought forth' so many, countless, beautiful lovesongs. And, of course, I so respect and admire Donna Summer
David foster produced the bodyguard album and wrote and produced music for amazing singers , he rearranged I will always love you to fit Whitney’s voice and he’s a 16 time Grammy winner so he’s like one of the biggest and well known guys in the music business
Hate to break it to you, but he didn't rearranged I Will Always Love You, he stole the arrangement for Linda Ronstadt's 1975 recording, they just played with the melody line. He even had to add another 45 seconds to the arrangement, because; after Dolly found out they were using Linda's recording as the template for theirs, she called David to give him the final verse of the song. Which Linda has not used in her recording.
Seal is incredible and one of the greatest songwriters of our time. Would love to see a review of Kiss From a Rose, which has to be top 50 greatest songs of all time. Having a small instrument doesn't mean it can't be great. Donna is sooo underrated. Such an incredible voice.
The drummer is John Robinson. He's played on EVERYTHING and he's one of the best if not the best drummer working today. I also see that the bassist here is Nathan East - another studio vet who's played on everything.
Donna Summer my all time favorite almost more than Stevie Nicks. Love her since i was 5 yrs old. Last Dance has been more parents song since the 70's...they went out dancing all the time❤
The best singer of all times!! Unbelievably she passed away only six months after this performance! I miss her still and enjoy her voice almost every day! What a woman and what a voice!
Adrian... she was a brilliant vocalist. She THE VOICE of the disco era... she died in 2012 of lung cancer. Her voice was steadfast every time she ever made appearances. FYI she was a HUGE start and in 1983 she "alledgedly" made some religiously driven ill received comments about the LGBT community at the onset of AIDS and her career plummeted.. over time she made a come back and her views ( like many ) about the gay community "evolved"... she died in 2012 of lung cancer. Her voice was steadfast every time she ever made appearances.
You have to here " Melody of Love" its soo Vibin! My favorite90's song is this and " Whenever there is Love" for the Daylight soundtrack . so beautiful.
En paz decansa mi reina adorada Donna Summer, siempre vivirás en mi recuerdo y corazón, única en su género. Mi tenista favorita Steffi Graf, bailando y aplaudiendo a la Reina de la Música Disco.
Yeah, great band. David Foster rarely shows up with anything less than a full orchestra. I gotta find this show and watch the whole thing. I love Donna so much.
Adam, you've reacted to Tori Kelly singing Seal's Crazy song. Go back and listen to her sing it, same song. Also his kiss From A rose was in the Batman movie and it was a massive hit.
Not many singers would attempt to sing Unbreak My Heart because of Toni Braxton Vocal Range. Donna had no issues singing it to show how great her vocal range was. Seal is a good singer but next to Donna it shows his limited range. Donna was holding back too.
Seal' velvety voice is magic with Donna. She looks and sounds phoenominal. All the top musicians beat down the door to play with David Foster. There are 2 drum sets.
if this was her last live performance before she passed God bless her for allowing her to keep that powerful voice til the end because she surpassed and superseded every single song she sang that was hers and that was not
RIP Queen. David Foster was a brilliant songwriter and producer. Love Ms Summer and Seal's voices together. David is married to California housewife. LOL
The band is tight because that's freakin' David Foster leading it on piano. If you don't know the name David Foster, you definitely know his music. Probably the greatest producer of the past fifty years. I'm surprised you don't know Seal (a.k.a. T'challa). But I know I'm getting older and the "kids" these days don't know Seal. "Crazy" and "Kiss From a Rose" are two of his essential songs. "Kiss From a Rose" was number one on multiple charts. He's an amazing singer and everything he does is great.
she had stage 4 lung cancer while singing this and still sounded like that ! This isn't Last dance. This is unbreak My heart and a duet with seal of Crazy. And then a little mini medley of a few songs. It was also not her last performance
Been loving the content on your channel but not particularly pleased about you calling Seal out of his name. If you're gonna run a commentary channel, at least make time to do your homework on the subjects. Seal did achieve a significant amount of success and even if he didn't that "T'challa" reference was just plain distasteful. Would you look at Taylor Swift (not knowing who she is) and say "Sing Snow White/Becky."?
Donna Summer is the finest female vocalist of all time and this just shows why. Effortless, note perfect as always and simply flawless. I've said it before but Donna was also very generous when performing with others. Seal's voice isn't as powerful but Donna never tries to outshine him. A true star.
Donna Summer was the best singer ever..i love her ❤
Absolutely love this woman
There are divas and then there is DONNA SUMMER. A super diva. Miss her every day.
What a powerful voice she had and so much control!
I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately she died at 63 y/o of cancer. After raising 3 kids and became a grand-mother she recorded a new album ''Crayons'' in 2008 and she became sick after.

She was one of the greatest singer of her generation, God bless her.
U hit it on the head my dude 💯💯
She also was trained in opera so she knows how to really sing formerly with all the best methods
Donna Summer is unique. She cannot be repeated. For this, she left a school of Music that many singers follow and imitate. Donna Summer is the Voice👍
one of the great female singers of all time...
When she passed, I truly cried for days. To see she gave this masterful performance and passed a few months because of cancer broke my heart. She was the Queen of Disco, the Godmother of EDM, talented painter, and just a talented great woman. Miss her.
So effortless for Donna. She doesn’t even try to sound good. She just is!!
Donna summer the best of the best
Donna slayed these songs so much, I wish she was given those songs instead. She was the Queen of Pop in the 70s!
"Last Dance and On The Radio" are both Donna's songs. "On The Radio" she helped write. Only "Unbreak My Heart" wasn't hers.
And the Queen of Disco
How I miss my all time favorite singer: Donna Summer. You are "The Voice" to me....always.
Donna never had to blast! She just delivered on her emotions and kept it going! Did both while simply singing to you with out you knowing it!
Donna Summer singing On the Radio gave me goose bumps. Her voice was flawless, even near the end!
She sounds SOOO good!!! I remember seeing her in 1979 atthe Conrad Hilton in Chicago...one of my best memories!! She was GREAT!!! & at the height of her popularity! She looks AMAZING in this video too!!! She makes you want to get up & dance!!! :)

Donna Summer forever 💖
Donna Summer-effortless QUEEN!!! SIIINNNGGGG

Right? How how can he not know Seals songs!
@@lanamartin9107 That's when I clicked off the video...
@@BlackMagickMike betta put some respek on Mr. Seal...that aint no TChalla lol
Thank you for this emotional reaction. I am still missing Donna Summer so much.

Love your reaction.
Btw it’s Summer not Summers. 😉
I agree with all the Divas except Celine .
I agree except that for Celine. Mine is Mariah☺️
Ms Summer, your dark tones and sensuous soulful voice is always a music to marvel at. Love to love you always ❤️

Absolute respect to the one and only Donna Summer ❤❤❤❤🙌🙌🙌👑👑
David Foster is known for composing for many famous artists like Celine, Chaka, Michael, Barbra and Mariah..
What did he compose for Mariah?
@@TBEfect After Tonight from the Rainbow album and There for Me from Glitter.
Donna Summer is The Voice. No one compares to her and she always makes it looks so easy!

The way you said: "He must be so rich", and the look on your face!! I just died 😂😂😂😂😂
I absolutely LOVE David Foster, the magic man, lovely genius who 'brought forth' so many, countless, beautiful lovesongs. And, of course, I so respect and admire Donna Summer
Donna Summers, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, queens of music!!!
Why all of these legendary divas have to leave us?
She has the BEST voice of all time.
DONNA. LA REINA INDISCUTIBLE DE LA MÚSICA DISCO ❤❤❤

YES YES YES !! :-) I suggested this clip some months ago and finally..... !!! Thanks for reacting on this legendary performance :-)
Donna Summer icon ❤️ RIP🙏
Donna will be featured in her own HBO original documentary this May.... Finally!!
If you wanna see Donna at her best watch Macarther Park live in the early 2000's where she is wearing the white dress. You will be blown away!

Please review from this same gig/concert Chaka Khan’s Through the Fire. Been playing that on repeat too.
Love Toni but when it comes to Donna....well OMG!!!
You should react to her Live MacArthur performance in 1978.
You should listen to her television performance of “any way at all” on the Tonight Show. That’ll make your jaw drop! The J Leno show performance

There's another couple of videos on here with David Foster where she was thinner in a black pantsuit,I believe those were her last public performance.
Why do some people think her last name is Summers? Her last name is Summer
if this was her last live performance before she passed
God bless her for allowing her to keep that powerful voice til the end

Nobody did it better than Donna.
RIP Queen.
David Foster was a brilliant songwriter and producer.
Love Ms Summer and Seal's voices together.
David is married to California housewife. LOL
David is married to Katherine McPhee. He filed for divorce, from the Beverly Hills housewife (who lasted 2 season on the show), December 1, 2015.

I think it works
